Oh poor Luke, hope he feels better soon Amber. So where's the photo of your new haircut then?
You're in London aren't you? Nigel is coming to London tomorrow and wonders what the weather's like at the moment - he said, ask someone on MN if I'll need gloves and hat!!!

spongebrainbigpants · 08/03/2009 21:52

Amber, so sorry to hear about Luke being poorly - totally with you on solids sick, yuck .

Deb, I'm not in London but near enough - and it's absolutely blardy freezing here! This morning, beautiful sunshine, walked to the pub in just a thin jacket, no gloves or scarf - walked home three hours later and it felt like it was going to snow! So yes, dress for cold!

DebInAustria · 08/03/2009 22:42

Thanks Sponge!!

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 06:27

Morning everyone, how are you all this morning? Good weekend?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/03/2009 07:13

Sponge I love my Phil and teds buggy,

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 07:57

Anyone else use the hypnotic Windows media player to amuse baby whilst you're on MN? Ethan loves the patterns and colours!

spongebrainbigpants · 09/03/2009 08:06

Deb, looks like my weather forecast could have been a bit out - woken up to sunny blue skies this morning!

AH, sorry missed your comments about P&Ts yesterday ! Dh has already set his heart on one of these so it's good to hear that you and 5 have one - will be picking brains nearer the time. I like the idea of them but just wonder how much the baby likes being underneath and not being able to see anything!

Dh has gone to work in a really bad mood this morning - think he's got another cold and he's got his 1/2 marathon in three weeks. Plus he's very tired as he's doing the lion's share of the housework and childcare at the moment . I do feel bad but I'm just fit for nothing right now .

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 08:31

He's probably worried about tomorrow too Sponge. No worries about the weather forecast

anyone just seen the crawling baby races on GMTV?

AliandHerScallywag · 09/03/2009 08:38

Morning. Yes Sponge you are right, another beautiful day here. Also Sponge, don't worry about your DH. From everything you have said about him he sounds like a brilliant husband and father and even if he is feeling a bit grumpy on a Monday morning I am sure he would rather he did the majority of the household chores whilst you take care of Spongelet.

Deb - has Nigel left yet? Anything planned whilst he is away?

Our new sleep regime unravelled a bit last night. The evening was fine. Then P woke at 1.30 so I fed him. Then he woke at 4 and ramped up to full on screaming within a minute or two, so I went in. He has a sore bottom at the moment and a bit of a cold, so I changed him and fed him and but him back down. However he was havig non of it and cried through a sore through for 20 mins until I brought him in to bed with us. All through this I had to try to explain to DH that when babies are ill you don't do cc, which was irritating as he has always refused to read any baby books and then just argues with me about what is right and wrong in the middle of the night. Peter now seems perfectly fine this morning, just a bit snotty!

abdnhiker · 09/03/2009 09:00

sponge Fraser wasn't a huge fan of being underneath until he was bit enough to be in the proper seat underneath (around 3 months if you get the Sport model with the reclining rear seat - I've never had it not reclined).

The other thing to consider would be a side-by-side twin style one (like the mountain buggy) since your two would be so close together but these would be tough in stores and actually would be no good for my country walks as they wouldn't fit through some of the gates around here. Can you tell I spent wayyy too much time thinking about buggies?

My DH is off to work just now - he stayed home for an extra two hours - that's the sum total of my weekend! I've lost my voice from this cold but otherwise am okay.

sponge I found that my second pregnancy was hard on both of us, but we tried to be as understanding as possible and we got through it!

Ali Fraser was in bed with us too - he's sick as well so what can you do? Still, I'm dreading the CC to get him out of his bad habits - he was doing so well before this!

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 09:27

anyone know what I've pressed which means that Mumsnet is in tiny type, everything else on the computer is fine, just Mumsnet. My technical assistant is on his way out of the country -help!

Ali - Nigel should be in the air by now. mmm what have I got planned - snow clearing(why does it have to snow today), welcoming guests later, cleaning large apartment, making beds, cooking, washing, ironing, cleaning, playing, ...... Not that I'm feeling ever so slightly jealous that Nigel is off on a jolly business trip to London!!Seriously though, won't be going anywhere in the car as too much snow for me to drive confidently!, Have planned today's meals with the boys - pancakes for lunch and home-made burgers and chips for tea. They have planned a bowling tournament on the Wii this afternoon for me and they made me breakfast this morning

Abdn - hope your voice comes back soon, at least you can chat to us no problem!

AliandHerScallywag · 09/03/2009 09:32

Thanks Aberdeen. Sorry your weekend was so short . How are you all feeling today?

Amberc · 09/03/2009 12:49

Hi All, excellent news - my sister (she of the three miscarriages) had her 11 week scan today and she has - wait for it- TWINS!!!! Will need lots of advice from Neenz for her. I'm so pleased as she didn't know whether to expect the worst as she has been bleeding but all is well. Sponge lets hope you get the same good news.

Luke is much better today although he kept me up all night long. i couldn't leave him for fear he'd been sick but I'm certianly leaving him tonight!

No pic of the hairdo - but it is lovely - 2 shades lighter with highlights and little flicking out layers. Makes me look like a yummy mummy not a slummy mummy (that is until I wash it and try to recreate it!!).

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 12:50

Fantastic news Amber, how exciting.

spongebrainbigpants · 09/03/2009 13:05

Amber, that's wonderful news .

AH, thanks for the reassurance - I did warn dh that we have a long way to go .

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 09/03/2009 13:10

amber that is fab news!

sponge good luck for tommorow.

I feel really run down and to top it all off after some googling of my vile symptom I think I have bacterial vaginosis - it's so gross and it's making me want to hide away from people. Hopefully I will get a dr's appointment tommorow as I want it sorted asap!

PiggyPenguin · 09/03/2009 13:25

Amber -that is fantastic news! The hair sounds great by the way. I have terrible hair naturally curly and a bit mad, its awful as no matter what cut I have it looks exactly the same (curly and mad) just a shorter/longer version of itself. I know I could just the tongs to de-curl it everyday but who has the time for that? I am a definite ponytail slummy mummy!

PiggyPenguin · 09/03/2009 13:29

G43 - that sounds grim. Hope you get it sorted soon. Hugs until then though.

Amberc · 09/03/2009 13:33

Oh you poor thing going - I think it's very easily treatable though isn't it?

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 13:44

Going2 - hope you get your appointment for tomorrow and get it treated, doesn't sound pleasant.(I googled too)

sybil - sounds like you have hair like Tristan - he was complaining today about his curls and said that some children had made fun of his curly hair. , and why didn't he have flat hair like Stefan.

Struggling with tiredness here, been on the go since 5 when Ethan woke up and 6 when Nigel got up to go. Ethan did sleep this morning but I had so much to do I didn't stop. Now I could just do with a nap on the settee whilst Ethan sleeps but I agreed to look after a friend's daughter this afternoon so no chance of that. Have made myself a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive is helping.

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 09/03/2009 14:16

Thanks for all the sympathy, I feel like I need some but don't to want to tell anyone face to face! It is very easy to treat (according to google) just really embarrising. Will try not to get close to anyone today!

neenztwinz · 09/03/2009 14:25

Oh Deb, synpathies - tiredness is the worst isn't it and what a long day from 5am (You are a saint looking after someone else's kid too!!)

Amber - wow!!!!! Twins, lucky lucky lady!!! Did she have fertility treatment or is it just random twins? Identical or not? These are her first aren't they (the best way - it is hard enough without having older DCs too!). Oh what wondeful news,

The mountain buggy twin - I have one and I love it, its very rare that i can't fit through a door or get round shops (it is only as wide as a wheelchair and most places are wheelchair accessible now cos its the law ). However, for an older child and a baby I would not get the MB, I'd go for the P&Ts because it is so small and lightweight, my sister has one and she loves it (as do her DCs). The MB is just too big and bulky - you put up with it with twins cos the alternatives are just as bad but with different age kids you have more options.

We had an OK night - I think whatever was wrong with them has cleared up ( no new teeth tho). They are eaing really well (and stuff that has no sweet potato in!). E woke at 2.30am and I fed her, and I woke T to feed him too in the hope he'd then go to morning (he as been waking at 4am) and he did, they both slept till near 8am . I had a great day yesterday at nephew's baptism, after feeding the DTs their lunch I just let the family take care of them and I went to the other side of the room and got drunk with some of my friends . We brought them home at 5pm, gave them tea and put them to bed. I could do with more weekends like that!

neenztwinz · 09/03/2009 14:26

Going4, sounds horrid, hope you get it sorted soon.

DebInAustria · 09/03/2009 15:00

I have thrown my 2 boys and their friend out in the snow to play, Ethan's still asleep so I've put my feet up and watched TV for half an hour - feel more human now

Amberc · 09/03/2009 16:56

Neenz - completely natural - just nature - maybe to make up for the miscarriages. Non identical and her first. SHe's only 10.5 and 10.2 at the moment so still not out of danger yet. Funny that one is older than the other!
