take care all!

vbab78 · 04/03/2009 20:58

daisy - like the quote about weaning. Great news about the health plan and maybe op sooner.
chocolategal - I saw the killers last tour and they were fab . ENJOY!
marigold - had to turn the youtube baby feed off. upset me. poor baby.
BUMBO YOUTUBE - LOL. Love it. Def will watch Alyssa like a hawk when she starts using hers.
LITTLE GIRL YOUTUBE - LOL. I love the puzzled look on her face as to why her mum is laughing.

PinkyMinxy · 04/03/2009 21:10

hello hello
Hi sparkles and ellie*daisy8 that is good news about your op. What is the recovery like? DH had his done at a private surgery within the hospital trust, so it was paid for on the NHS, but done privately. (I don't really understand it) but it meant he only waited a few weeks instead of months and months.

Period- I've been spotting, because of the coil, but nothing major. Sorry you ahve yours, Daisy

All this talk of new bathrooms and kitchens, though I would just settle for soemone to mop my floors.

haven't looked at the videos, but both my other two always pulled a 'sucking a lemon' face at new foods- wether they put it in their mouths themselves or not!

sausage the closer to nature bottles are fab- I got DD1 to take one sometimes- I think it's because you can hold them at a sort of breastfeeding angle.

LB I like the sound of the house cleansing. I am more of a beatnik than a hippie, but I do think spaces have presence, sometimes good, soemtimes not.

Did anyone hear the programme on PND on radio 4 tonight?

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 21:28

I think the squashiness of the closer to nature bottles is good as well; more breast-like than any other bottles.

or so I thought until I found these

PinkyMinxy · 04/03/2009 21:32

lol daisy. it looks like those squashy fake boob ones they sell in the nct catalogue. I teased DH once that I'd be buying them- you should've seen his face.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 21:34

the NHS do that a lot these days Pinky to hit their waiting list targets. It's cheaper for them to pay for the ops privately for patients than to pay the government fines if they don't reach the targets

I should be on my feet the same day and pain free within a few days as it's done laparoscopically. I've got to be careful lifting/exercising etc for six weeks afterwards though.

right am off to bed now that the last lot of painkillers have kicked in.

night all.

thats ok ceebee if you are anything like me just now i forget everything, was just having a bath, its one of those whirlpool ones I can recommend them sooooo relaxing .
I too have my period its about my 7th one since new year fingers crossed its settling down now tho doc thinks its my pill.
pinky I think i know what you are talking about the nhs/private thing there is one at my work its a private company that are employed by the nhs and they work when we are not ie, after 6 and at weekends, its a short term contract 3 years i think basically to get waiting lists down. Surely common sense would be instead of throwing money at a private company it would be better to employ more staff and open the nhs wards (we are at current 8-6 mon to friday after being threatened with closure) longer, then in turn the waiting lists would be shorter! My moan is not directed at private healthcare or nhs but at the politicians who make these great decisions. oops went off on one there. (alot of my friends lost jobs etc)
Watched the video, someone once told me humans have to taste something a certain number of times 20 or something before we like it .
Hi coolkat I have given up on my ironing

vbab78 · 04/03/2009 21:40

UPDATE OF THE LAST 2 VERY HECTIC DAYS ...
TUESDAY AM - Me at hospital for internal RE the weird bleeding in 1st cycle of pill after ahem ... intercourse. Hardly slept Mon night due to being worried. When I did sleep did my sort of sleep walking/talking thing worrying about DS and A due to stuff on my mind. So Tues felt bad before even going to hospital for 9.30 appt. Talk about rush to get there and find a parking space. ANYWAY ... the internal went ok and they did my smear at the same time so dont have that thing to go through another time. Apparantly, in my thicko terms, I have fragile tissue in there that can be made to bleed more as a result of the pill i'm on. So until it toughens up or I change my type of contraception it may occasionally bleed and maybe after intercourse (yer right). Got a check up in a few month if not improved.
TUES PM - A weighed. Now 13lb 3oz at 16wks. She has increased just over a lb in 4wks which considering all the vomiting is good. But still below her orig centile but nothing to worry about.
DS at doc RE 2+months of on/off bottom troubles. Doc was great. Said probably "toddler Diarrhoea www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23069041/" OR a chance of lactose intolerance. To look at DS diet if still problems then hand in sample (he gave me the form and bottle) to be tested. To be honest after reading the info and chat with doc maybe it is diet. I started cutting/lessing the stuff he needs in his diet wrongly and allowing him to have stuff like juice too much. Even if it does end up DS has lactose intolerance his diet still needs addressing which is down to me getting a little slack.
Also MIL dropped surprise b'day party for FIL so had to make time to attend. ARGH! Didnt mind attending but more notice considering everything on would have been nice.
EARLY HOURS this AM - was desperate to sleep but woke with terrible stomach pains and just felt unwell. Made my way to bathroom after trying on toilet nothing but felt faint so sat on bathroom floor. To minutes later jump up back on and have a terrible "bottom incident". I felt SO ill and it was so sudden. Went back into bedroom and DH jumped up and ran to loo and was sick and also a "bottom incident". Both not had anything since but was painful and awful. This morning went into A's room to the aroma of POO and bless her she was asleep in it! I had "ssshhh"ed her 4 times because she was crying in her sleep. This was after my incident and whilst feeling awful . Wonder if she had what me and DH suffered from or just teething pains and poo?
A HOSPITAL - Lots of stress trying to get parked due to broken down bus and st parking. As a result late for appt and had to run the length of the hospital with A in buggy. Turned out her appt was an HOUR late! The doc (diff one) said to try double the dose of gaviscon. But agreed to lots of testing. SO BLOOD TESTS. Glad she had them done but poor love. Was hard to find a vein being she is a baby and eczema skin. DID SHE CRY and it took ages to fill the 4 tubes they had. But full credit to the nurses they got the vein straight away. I think A was more upset them holding her arms than the needle and they kept having to squeeze her arm and hand.
Then had to go to hosp pharmacy for gaviscon to wait 50mins. In summary hosp appt 2.15pm and left hospital 5pm during which the appt and blood tests took about 30mins the rest was waiting! Thank god my mum had DS.

A and DS both went to bed at 7pm like normal so both must be ok. Sorry for war and peace but just a lot of appts.
Also a weird leak appeared last night behind our plastic walls in outbuildings due to severe rain. Ok now but does worry me slightly and no idea where the leak is.

vbab78 · 04/03/2009 21:42

A hospital - forgot to say today's appt was for vomiting not her skin. DUH. Luckily she vomited twice in front of the doc.

vbab78 · 04/03/2009 21:48

Just checked A and realised DH has been her sleeping bag on the wrong way around AGAIN. WTF. But he always knows better when I try and instructhelp him.

vbab78 · 04/03/2009 21:49

WTF am i typing and i'm taking over the thread! must stop fingers now. not "been" but "put".

ellielou02 · 04/03/2009 21:58

oh vbab you have had a lot on why is it men always know best

ellielou02 · 04/03/2009 21:59

let me rephrase that men always THINK they know best and it is easier just to let them

PinkyMinxy · 04/03/2009 22:15

vbab was that all in one day?? ,y god you must be shattered. Poor A having blood tests I known they need them but still. I was so relieved DS was sound asleep last time he had some.
I am with you on the juice thing- I never used to give DS juice (pfb) but I am much more slack with DD1, even though it's watered down fruit juice it's not really all that good for them, is it.

ellie I quite agree with you on the nhs thing. I hate all this 'choice' cr*p. It's the same with schools...oh best stop now before I go on and on and on..

AFingerofFudge · 05/03/2009 08:08

oh vbab poor you, have just read through your hectic two days, and I don't know how you still have the strength to type anything!

Yes, Dh's do think they know best, and somehow even manage to come up with excuses when the nappy is put on the wrong way round!?!

LackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2009 09:24

vbab . Sounds exhausting. I hope you are all feeling better soon and you can have a chance to kick back and relax.

Not much change here painwise. Still scared to eat as it kicks things off much worse when I do but I went to bed at 10 after a feed for bumble and then he slept till 3.30 so not a bad night considering.

He has definately found his voice and was singing at 6.30 this morning. He was soooo cute though we forgave him the early wake up

OP posts:
Oblomov · 05/03/2009 10:23

Poor Vbab. Sounds a nightmare. You poor thing. Hope things are on the up.

MerryMarigold · 05/03/2009 10:36

vbab, hope you can get some rest now for the next couple of days (well as much as you can with a baby and toddler and vomit and diahrrea!).

lacks, sorry you still feel ill and can't eat properly. Hopefully won't be long now. Hope you get a nice hospital with 5 star treatment. LOL at Bumble's singing. Judo is so quiet, his 'talking' is this funny noise in the back of his throat sounds like Darth Vader. Baby Wiss on the other hand screams like a cat at night - her idea of pleasant conversation! Ds1 was an angel this morning. Bless. Dh was sweet and got up at 5.30 to deal with crying baby (she is def teething, very red cheeks, so unsettled poor babe). I caved in and fed her but she wasn't settling so he took her and then got up with ds1 at 7.

We're definitely not going to Oz now. Dh had his contract extended and as he was off work for 3 months, we can't really take a 3 week holiday now. Bit sad, but also relieved I don't have to get packed/ organised and then do nightmare trip. I could have managed it at Xmas, but am knackered in now! When will I recover?! Now I have the fun of planning a holiday - either a cheap package somewhere warm like Greece or we drive to France.

Obs, how are you love? Have you got a new car? Did we ever agree on a London meet up? I can't find the thread. I know I have posted that several times, but always missed responses.

don't feel too bad hana, we've all done it! I made a right mess of DD's recently when I pulled off a raggedy bit and nearly took the whole nail off A passerby stopped and gave us a plaster as it was bleeding everywhere!

OP posts:
AutumnLady · 05/03/2009 11:27

morning all

Don't worry hana - I've done it to J three times felt absolutely awful but he has recovered just fine!

vbab - hope you can rest up and take care of you (as much as possible!)

Hey Obs - how you and M doing??

xx

Oblomov · 05/03/2009 11:59

Don't feel bad Hana. I do that regularly. Even though I try and take real care, it does happen.

ChocOrange05 · 05/03/2009 12:20

Hana well done on being brave enough to admit it on here - I did that to M about 3 weeks ago and felt like such a bad mummy that I was too embarrased to tell you all. I clipped a bit of his skin, he cried for about 5 seconds and I cried for an hour! I am pleased to know I am not the only one!

tegan · 05/03/2009 12:27
