We are still a grumpy mega feeder fist chomperover here but she doesn't have red cheeks am just thinking growth spurt as 4 mths ( ow no ) tom.
Daisy great news about the op and your dh sounds a dream getting the lavander bag - We use them a fair bit here and dd1 has a wheat cat for when she has a sore tummy .... Since she got it the sore tummy seems to have increased
My parents house used to have a ghost in it we rented it out and so many people asked about a certain grey lady - we never saw her . Then when they did the renovations a builder came late one evening to get a tool he had left and he said he saw something but he moved so fast to get out of there he diddn't stop to chat ! That was teh last time she was seen.
Misdee sorry to hear about Sophie hope she gets better soon - could you really cut all your hair off if she loves it maybe you could make it into a wig and wear it when she drops off ????

misdee · 04/03/2009 13:51

i have to cut it, as i keep getting headlice from the children and am worried about sophie getting them.

i am wetcombing daily, everyone of us, but the problems not going away. someone in dd1 and dd2 classes arent treating them.

might get a real hair wig though, good idea.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 13:57

grr at the headlice misdee; it's awful when parents don't do their bit isn't it? I had all my locks chopped on Saturday and bumble was a bit taken aback that he has nothing to hang onto, but is now grabbing onto the edge of my tshirt instead.

I was speaking to lisad on my gallbladder thread the other day; sounds horrendous what she went through.

I have been reading my Diet Doctor books this afternoon and am going to get stuck in with that diet after I've had my op. I had homemade turkey burgers today (just turkey mince and some salt and pepper and a sprinkle of morroccan spice then grilled) with brown rice and steamed veg. It was actually really tasty. I'm reeeeeaaaaaalllly struggling with not having any cheese though

gggargh, got DD settled and now bumble has woken up again

Good news for daisys op.
All of you need your house excorcised. really ? what all of you ? how odd
right, well theres a busineess idea for one of us, in this credit crunch.

SausageRoleModel · 04/03/2009 15:27

yay for op being brought forward Daisy! Nice of your DH's company to be so caring...not a word normally associated with the corporate world, especaiily in the middle of a recession!

Still making progress on the tommy tippee bottles - slowly but surely!

Barb - that yout tube clip is so funny - have you all seen the flying bumbo one. Its funny - might inspire me to get the video camera out myself!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5dPMtuZsCw

enjoy killers chocolategal nd misdee hope you have an easy day. I find this baby care thing is definitely a game of two halves. After a few good nights, I am over the moon, confident and loving everything about it, but it only takes one or two difficuolt days and nights for me to swing completely to the other end of the spectrum where its the end of the world and I am a terrible mum. (luckily today is a good day )

MerryMarigold · 04/03/2009 15:47

hi misdee, good to see ya back. your dd sounds a bit like mine. she is very clingy, very 'highly strung', wakes at the drop of a hat. so different from her very laid back brother, but a bit like ds1. high maintenance!

coolkat, 'glad' your little Becca is waking lots too. Mirissa is up 5x per night at the moment, not sure what it is, she doesn't feed well when she's waking, so then waking hungry again. took babies to clinic today (it's been 6 weeks!), so asked HV what to do. she was very against giving formula or baby rice, so some of them are stickler for the recommended rules. said i have to stick to feeding her twice a night and on the other wakings just have to try and get her to sleep. am dreading it, but we need to break this cycle, she's not one to go to sleep easily and if she is a bit hungry...i need to sleep though, so do need to break her out of this. ds1 did this at exactly this time (around 18-20weeks) and stayed doing it till he went on solids 'properly' ie. was eating 3 good meals a day...about 7 months I think. can't afford to do that this time, so not sure what i am going to do...any ideas anyone?

lacks, sorry I forgot to mention your illness last time. i was just fixated on those limming scallops (maybe you can eat scallops ?). not sure how you're managing with your brood and the pain, you poor thing. and not even being able to comfort eat! (probably a good thing)...will you be able to celebrate with a good meal sometime after the op? how long is the recovery bit?

has anyone made that cake in a cup in the microwave from mumsnet recipes. i have done it twice now. it's not great, but it's so quick and easy, a great way to make a sweet treat and ds1 likes to help and watch it cook in the microwave. takes about 5 mins from start to finish - which is about his attention span !

MerryMarigold · 04/03/2009 15:49

pinkglow - MY DAD IS A BAPTIST MINISTER TOO!!!! where is yours? (well my dad has just retired, but seems to still run the church in the absence of anyone else).

barbs, that youtube thing was too funny. i love the end when her mum tells her to use 'butt' instead, "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".

not sure hana, i think if he hated it there is no way it would be going in at all and would probably just spit it out/ cry (going by my ds1 anyway - there is no way he would eat packet or jar foods which I tried when we went on holiday, just wouldn't go in and that was that, so had to cook from scratch for him all holiday!). i think this is more like, 'hmmmmmmm...this is a bit...ODD!' (like me eating an oyster).

still, i did think it was a good ad for BLW but wouldn't go as far as to think it is cruelty to children... i don't think any mum would really be laughing if her kid was getting upset.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 17:11

merry, You could try feeding extra in the day? I know if bumble hasn't fed well in the day he wakes more at night. It must be sooo hard with two of them though. I have days where I can't figure out what's going on with bumble; lord knows what I'd do with two of then, each with different routines and temperaments.

feeling shit again and waiting for dh to come home.

sparkletoes · 04/03/2009 17:27

Haey, found you all at last!

How on earth do you all find the time to chat so much I am in awe!

Seriously cannot catch up completely but wanted to say hello and I am still hanging in there (just!).

AFingerofFudge · 04/03/2009 17:29

Daisy sorry to hear you are having it rough at the moment. Don't feel guilty as though you are "jumping the queue" fgs, you are mum to a newborn who needs you in a fit state to look after him. You deserve it.

sausage that bumbo thing on youtube is sooooo funny, it gave me a real laugh.

All quiet here as M is having a nap. Was really this morning at the HV at baby clinic. As previously mentioned, M has bad reflux. Had mentioned it to the doctor before his jabs and he just said "all babies have reflux". Grr. No they don't, DS2 didn't have reflux. Anyway, was talking to the HV about his reflux at it really is quite bad, and I happened to mention what the doctor said. Well, she said, in that case if the doctor doesn't recommend anything be done then I'm certainly not going to.
Double Grrr.

chocolategal · 04/03/2009 18:46

hello sparkletoes how are you?
Good to see you, I remember us being the stragglers on the ante natal thread!

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 19:18

hey sparkletoes

Good to see you again.

Hello everyone how are you all?? I have not had time to post for ages but have been lurking, oh some of you have had it rough lately I send my best wishes to you all, Daisy hope you get a date for your op soon, we do a lot of laprascopic gall bladder ops at my work as day cases and the patients do really well post operatively so all the best!

We have had the builders in getting a new bathroom in so alot of upheaval and dust we actually moved into my mums to get DC away from the most of it it took about a week but we are very pleased with it! M getting on great she is getting very big and funny, she giggles at alot of things especially her big sister. I noticed the subject of weaning has come up and I have started in the last few days, M was draining every bottle (7oz) and taking a big interest in what we were eating so after discussion with my hv decided to see what happened and she opens her mouth and swallows whatever we put in, she seems to love it its like i cant get it in fast enough. I know its early but she hasnt cut any of her milk down either so I dont know if I am doing the right thing or not but she seems happy.
Enjoy the killers chocolategal I seen the kaiser chiefs on friday and it was fab ricky is soooo nice
ooh and love all the spooky stuff.

Ceebee74 · 04/03/2009 19:55

Sparkle hi honey - I have missed you and wondered if you were ok. How are the boys?

Daisy that you are feeling lousy - and that is why you need to have the operation as soon as physically possible - never mind about feeling guilty!

Loving the video clips. Agree that the baby eating was probably not cruel although if he was really enjoying himself he would have been laughing along with his mum I guess - but he didn't look particularly unhappy either iyswim.

Took Sam to be weighed - 14lb 7oz at 15 weeks which is right on the 50th percentile. Considering how big he was at birth, it is a bit but thinking that he is just adjusting to his 'natural' size iyswim. DS1 was also always on 50th centile so makes sense that they are a similar size.

Just cleared out all of Sam's drawers of 0-3 month clothes and put his 3-6 month clothes in - does anyone else feel a little that they are growing so quickly??

sparkletoes · 04/03/2009 20:05

Hi chocgal and daisy! How are u both?

I will try to keep up a bit more! I need a 'catch up' thread!

Yes we did end up the stragglers didn't we chocgal! My little Tinytoes was only born on the 16th as well, everyone else seemed to go early!

So anyone else pg again yet????!! (ducks) Imagine there will be a Due Nov 09 thread by now too.

sparkletoes · 04/03/2009 20:25

Ceebs!! Haey missed you too and all of you really just have had a major lack of time for anything other than baby/toddler/baby/toddler.... How do u do it??

I should take Tinytoes to be weighed properly, his growth at least settled down eventually but he is right up at the 90th centile the wee bruiser! He is already growing out of his 3-6 mnth stuff so yes I am majorly at how quick he is growing up. Am planning to sell a lot of my baby stuff soon too and it only seems like yesterday I was buying it all for DS1 (sob!).

Sorry to see that you need op Daisy a colleague of mine had gall bladder op last year and she also had a newborn. She feels much better for it so hope you get same result. Never mind the guilt we have enough of that as parents!

Respect is due ellielou a new bathroom causes load of upheaval esp when have babies about! We have just ordered wooden flooring and the thought of getting it fitted is already sending me into a panic!

Ceebee74 · 04/03/2009 20:29

Sparks I guess I am lucky in that DS1 is still at nursery 4 full days a week - I can't go near the PC when he is around! Plus both boys are in bed asleep by 7.30 so I have most of the evening to myself aswell

ellie wow how brave to have a kitchen put in with a newborn but I bet it is well worth all the hassle!!

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 20:31

blardy hell. As if all this gallbladder stuff isn't bad enough, I've got my fecking period . So much for bumble feeding twice a night still!!

Pleeeeeeeese, someone just shoot me

OP posts:
ellielou02 · 04/03/2009 20:32

oooh know what you mean sparkle where does all the dust come from thats what i want to know its still appearing and I have cleaned this house I dont know how many time. I too am sad about how quck M is growing she is just below 90th centile for her height, and just fits 3-6 months but i dont think it will be long before she is out of them too

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 20:33

oh, and sparks, I just neglect my children for MN . juanita was wondering why bumble is so chilled out at stay and play......prolly because he gets ignored for the most part

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 04/03/2009 20:35

Ellie so sorry - I meant bathroom! Someone from my other PN thread is having a new kitchen fitted - hence the confusion!

Sparks I also neglect leave Sam to his own devices occasionally to MN

coolkat · 04/03/2009 20:46

I wish Becca would allow me to put her down, really struggling this last week. At night she goes down fine but an hour or so later she will start to wake and this then goes on throughout the night.
I am sure its teeth

Nice to see you Ellie and Sparkle.

Oh Daisy your period mines still awol and I hope its stays that way.

So tired, I have not done the ironing again. . . .

Night ladies. X
