Awww that's nice Heather.

I hope Star's OK - she's not posted since Sunday.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/02/2009 20:15

Star has family visiting, so I assume that if she's well then she's prob very busy with them.

No health implications to worry about hmm .
Well done for sorting out the dosage. Hope yoga and starting the medication makes tomorrow a good day.

We've had another whiny day from ds today. Really don't know what's up, but I'd like my happy chappy back again please!

Honeymoonmummy · 10/02/2009 20:31

Oh yes of course. So do I!! Is he still doing funny poos? Does he have a temp?

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/02/2009 20:40

Spoke to hv about the poo today. She said that it's quite normal for it to change, and esp during a growth spurt as the composition of the milk changes, so it's not uncommon for them to suddenly start going a day or two without pooing, and for it to be different when they do.
Had him weighed too. 17lb 3oz.
No temp or anything. Lots of ear pulling, but I'm hoping it's just teething or tiredness related. No other sign of an ear infection thankfully.

You never know MyJob, he might like it!!

God, I am not being over-dramatic when I say I couldnt have got through the first 6 weeks (at least) of bf ing without my beloved Lansinoh! I have quite sensitive skin but thank god am ok with that. Have u tried lansinoh cos I think its just pure lanolin? (might be wrong though) Its pretty expensive at £10 a go but you can get it on prescription.

I hope DS is feeling better soon CSWS

Poppy is asleep, I'm off downstairs to converse with DH for a while, then bed for me!! Went on a looong walk today so I'm shattered! Must book in at docs about my achiness too...

Ewwww...

loulou33 · 10/02/2009 21:20

hi all,

honeymoon - well done for getting some answers from doctor but i don't understand how they can let you have a drug and not tell you how much to give, surely that's really dangerous?? 1ml is still small dose as its 1ml per kg per day so she's on half the dose for 6kg baby (i'm guessing she's around 6kg+?) Hopefully it will make a difference but if it doesn't, it may be she needs a higher dose so don't panic!

csws - do you officialy have the heaviest baby - that's some going. Joe is about 16lb and he a few weeks older and he's on 75th centile!!

myjob - joe does the whole turning hishead sideways whilst feeding...i think he thinks my nipples wills tretch to allow him to see over his shoulder - owww. He is a fussy feeder during the day particularly when ds1 is aroun. i think this may be why he's waking more in the night to top-up after some smaller feeds in the day. i have been trying to feed him in a quieter room but ds1 keeps trailin gin after me and stroking joe's head etc - cute but Joe gets very distracted

pepper and myjob - please put us out of our misery and tell us if you're pg or not!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/02/2009 21:25

Don't think so loulou. Sure that pistachio said that her ds was 18lbs a week or two ago!

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 10/02/2009 21:33

Oh tell me about it Loulou!!! She's 5.25kg. She's only 13 weeks, a bit behind you lot, and she's only in the 25th centile but very constant on the 25th line.

Honeymoonmummy · 10/02/2009 21:36

Actually she's 14 weeks tomorrow!

I'm off to bed, night all, hope you all get some sleep! x

CSWS - I hope your ds is better soon.

Enjoy the yoga Honeymoon - I'd love to do that, but can't find a class local enough to me.

We're still going strong with the growth spurt.

Can I just have a whinge? Spoke to my mum yesterday, and she asked about the feeding. I told her that he was feeding every hour as he was having a growth spurt, and she said "Well he's had it all very easy, being carried all the time (I use a sling a lot of the time), sleeping with you and feeding when he wants."

Had it easy? Does she think I should make it tough for him ffs? He's only 4 months old. I KNOW it's a generational thing, and that they were much more routine-led in those days. She breast fed us for a year each, which was pretty unusual in those days, I think. But god knows how much they must have let us cry in order to feed us every 3 hours. Or maybe I've just got a particularly greedy baby, I don't know. I'm feeling very tired at the moment and could do without implicit criticism of my parenting. Grrr.

Honeymoonmummy · 11/02/2009 09:23

Morning all!

Pistachio - I do that too re pillow, but I only have 11 lb 9 to hold! DH was going on about how heavy she's getting when he picks her up, he's in for a shock!!! It's good to know your theory re cake consumption, I thought mine was pretty high but evidently I need to crank the cake-age up a notch or two

That's a shame re the yoga Aubergenie. I know exactly what u mean re implicit criticism Aubergenie, my dad is terrible for it!!

Well, the first drugs are in my baby , she took both no probs with a syringe in the cheek. She's been pretty sick already this morning, I hope there's not too much overlap between the gaviscon and these.

I got the doses wrong on my prev post , its 1ml renitadine and 1.5ml domperidone. She hasn't got the worst reflux, she doesnt do projectile vomit and sleeps through and she is gaining weight steadily so I guess that together with the weight is the reason for the lower doses.

I have to say the paed seemed great, he really gave me confidence that he knew what he was talking about.

aubergenie · 11/02/2009 09:41

I really hope they do the trick Honeymoon.

loulou33 · 11/02/2009 09:44

yes -honeymoonmummy, having a slightly more sicky baby as opposed to raging reflux one that won't gain weight means that you are left with 'just keep going and get to 6 months' approach. give it a few days and i hope the domperidone works in keeping the milk down adn the ranitidine makes her less sore - fingers crossed.

aubergenie - i love our mum's generation. my neighbour said to me as i was pushing joe's pram through heavy snow to get him to sleep, 'oh i just put mine in their room and left them to it' as though i should be giving her the award for great parenting!! If i did that with Joe the other neighbours would call social services ffs. soon he'll be too heavy to carry everywhere anyway!!

pistachio - yes i too have shoulder ache, permanent lower back pain and wrist ache from carrying Joe around - even 10 mins of it, leaves me crippled, i don't konw how you manage. i blame joe's weight on cake and biscuits too yum yum
