Honeymoon - I nearly ordered that mat last week (is loads more expensive in jojo btw), and then remembered that we have the padded base from this which will serve the same purpose. I would think about whether you are likely to want one of these once Poppy gets more mobile, and if so then get it now and use the base to save you £30.

I don't think that tixylix was in the list of changed meds, but we don't tend to use cough medicine so I wouldn't have looked very hard for it at the time. Is it just acetic acid?

Sorry to hear about your Gran jenwa.

Dd is having a lovely time with grandparents. I am still looking after ds and doing meal planning/some cooking, so it isn't that much of a break. Having nice change of scene though, yes thank you.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 20/02/2009 08:31

I really want to get this in a few months. I wanted to get DS the catapillar then forgot about it for his birthday/Christmas.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2009 09:04

Ah yes, dd had this. Was used, but not as much as I'd hoped.

BTW I found a site yesterday that rated the 3-sixti cosatto chair as 4/10 and the Cosatto diner chair and Bloom as both 10/10. Bit gutted because I was going to go for the 4/10 one! No comments about it tho so dont know why so low.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2009 09:46

Just looked at the first batch so far. We have musical bobbing sprites and I would say don't bother.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2009 09:52

Your last 7 links are all to the sprites!

Can recommend smaller hungry caterpillar set.

Which site did you see chair reviews on?

OP posts:
Lozza70 · 20/02/2009 10:10

Wow this thread just moves so fast at the moment but it has been great to see what everyone is thinking of buying. Whoever linked the Bloom chair, thanks! DH saw the pic and thinks it is just fantastic so I think there is some Xmas money which was put away which we can buy it with.

We are in the midst of teething here. After sleeping through from Xmas Sander has been waking up 3 and 4 times a night and just moaning. It is just pitiful to listen to and he will not take any of the numerous teethers I have bought. He is chewing his wee hands to shreads. I resorted to Calpol last night to give him some relief. Have any of your little ones had any blood in their mouth from teething? It really freaked me out yesterday when there was some on his bib after a trip out to the shops. We are off to Tenerife next week so I hope he is a bit better by then or we will not be popular with people in neighbouring apartments

Honeymoonmummy · 20/02/2009 10:35

Sorry Jenwa I meant to say I'm sorry about your gran.

I don't know what happened with the links there. It's missed the numbers off the end - I can't be bothered to do it again!!

I knew you'd ask which site CSWS and I don't know! I'll try to find it now.

Lozza sorry to hear about poor Sander going through the mill. I know from seeing Poppy in pain how awful it is. Did you see the link I posted about a week ago to a teether which you put on your hand like a finger puppet? If he likes his hands he may take to it. I'll find the link if you let me know.

Honeymoonmummy · 20/02/2009 10:38

www.babychums.com/compare/4_503772.html

Sorry, the bloom only got 5.6/10. Bloody baby brain!!!!

Marthasmama · 20/02/2009 10:53

I feel very sorry for our babies suffering with their teeth. My wisdom teeth are still coming through (12 years after they first broke the skin!) so I know how painful it is. Poor little sausages. I looked at the Bloom rating on that site Honeymoon, but nobody has actually left a review so I have no idea why they think the Bloom is poo. I love it, DD loves it and so do the DC of my two friends who saw ours and decided to get one of their own! They should pay me commission !

loulou33 · 20/02/2009 12:01

we have the snail rocker and ds1 loved it and used it all the time - he even used to sit in it to watch telly!! he now tries to squeeze himself into Joe's bumbo whilch is very funny to see. I have ordered a play/feeding tray for Joe's bumbo which i wish they had made when ds1 was little as he could never reach any of his toys!!

csws - Joe was definitely choking, went red and eventually coughed out a bit of carrot. he must have eaten some though as he was sick alter and it had little bits of carrot in it. will keep trying him with something as i think he's bored of just milk now and is not feeding as much as he used to

I'm a bit of that site too honeymoon. How can the 3 sixti have 13 reviews when almost nowhere has even started selling it yet! And the other scores seem to be based on 1 review.

Eek then for carrot choking loulou, but glad that it hasn't put you off.

Glad that you were on the ball re weighing myjob!

OP posts:
Lozza70 · 20/02/2009 13:27

Hi Honeymoonmummy I didn't see the previous link for the teether. It sounds like a good idea though. Would you be able to do a link to it?

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2009 13:36

Think it was this one Lozza.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 20/02/2009 13:49

This is the teether Lozza

Just been to the CO. Apparently Poppy is a 'one-off' WTF does that mean?????

True CSWS, I don't really trust reviews that are just scores rather than giving reasons.

Well done on the weight gain Myjob and for sticking to your guns!! It may not be much but it's in the right direction, esp as she's had diarrhoea

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/02/2009 20:43

Blimey, where is everyone this aft/evening?

hmm - did you ask CO to clarify?

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 20/02/2009 21:02

That's what I was wondering! I've had a lovely splurge this afternoon, ikea, toys r us and mothercare with poppy and my mum. I'm paying for coming back late tho, poppy couldnt have her bath and is wide awake! We've not not done bathtime since routine started about 2 months ago!

No I didnt CSWS, he can be a bit random sometimes.

aubergenie · 20/02/2009 21:26

I'm here!

Honeymoon - It sounds like you're definitely doing your bit for the credit crunch. What did you get? Did you order the Hungry Caterpillar? I love that book.

Took ds swimming for the first time this morning. He loved it! I bought him a 3-6 month swim nappy a few weeks ago which fitted him, but then we didn't go for a while. When we got to the pool today I couldn't squeeze his chunky thighs or bottom through the leg holes! Fortunately, my friend had a spare pair of large ones which he wore.

We had a terrible night again last night with poor ds's teeth. He's really restless again tonight, poor thing, so I think it's going to be another horror.

Honeymoonmummy · 20/02/2009 22:07

In my defence I haven't been shopping for aaaaages, so I was definitely overdue a splurge! It always puts me in such a good mood! All stuff for Poppy except a pair of jeans for me. Depressing buying jeans in mothercare but my pre-pregnancy jeans are doing my head in.

I didn't place the Amazon order....yet

I did however get a cheap rug from Ikea that's soft and colourful that I thought I could use in the meantime for a playrug for Poppy while I decide about a carpet, playpen etc.

I saw your highchair Myjob, it looks nice

Poppy got rocked to sleep by daddy in the end. (I did feed her BTW!! In mothercare's mummys room!!!) I hope you and LO's all get a peaceful and pain-free sleep!

Honeymoonmummy · 20/02/2009 22:13

www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30151709

I know it's the same price as the playmat I was looking at, but what the hell!!!

star6 · 21/02/2009 07:19

HMM love that rug!!! adorable

ronshar · 21/02/2009 10:06

Jenwa sorry about your gran.
I bought a Tixylix battery operated fan thingy. Is has an insert which releases Menthol & Eucalyptus. It seems to have really helped with Wiliams cough and snuffles. Smells nice too.

Dont want to be a kill joy Honeymoon but that rug is latex backed which can sometimes be an allergen. Also as most play rugs/mat get dribble and vomit on them you will probably be better off just getting a play mat.
saying that though the rug is lovely

I found a massive bag of baby toys in the loft. All look hardley used. So I would urge caution in the toy buying department. Try not to get something just because it looks cool. Lots of toys do the same thing. Also at this age they spend more time chewing stuff and throwing it on the floor in the really fun game called "how many times will mummy pick this up off the floor before she gets fed up" Believe me they never get tired of that game. Even when they are 9 you still have to play the game, except now it is with dirty clothes

William slept all the way from 12.30 until he was woken by DD2 at 7am. Yipee. Shame that DD2 has kept me awake all night. She was sure that the bedroom was moving and then there was a monster in the room!!! I have made it clear that the only monster she needs to worry about is me

Hope you are having a lovely time away CSWS.

Star how are you holding up? I hope your friend is all ok.

Have a great weekend everyone

Honeymoonmummy · 21/02/2009 10:32

Thanks Star. I thought she'd like the bright colours

Ronshar, does that mean I just need to try it and if it gives her an allergic reaction to not use it again? I was planning to put a towel on top of it till the vomit eased up a bit.

I know what you mean about toys but I got most of mine for Poppy from NCT sales so haven't spent much on them. Plus it's fun to shop for them!

I just checked the Which site for highchairs - the Bloom and 3-sixti haven't been tested. In fact only 17 have been tested - the top 5 are as below. However, I suspect this was done a while ago:-

1 Graco Tea-Time £38 (typical price)

www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001501&productI d=1500344403&langId=-1&engine=froogle&keyword=Graco+Tea+Time+Highchair+-+Pink

2 Mamas and Papas Cafe Junior £50 - doesn't seem to still be on sale

3 Fisher-Price BabyGear Healthy Care £70

www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002VZ20K/shopzilcouk-21/ref=asc_df_B0002VZ20K315959

4 Brevi Pony £39

www.ciao.co.uk/Brevi_Pony_Highchair__5108697

5 Mothercare pinecube £45

The Chicco Polly came in at no. 6

aubergenie · 21/02/2009 10:37

Honeymoon ? You don?t have to justify yourself to us. I was only teasing. Sounds like you deserve a splurge. I LOVE the rug! You can put it in Poppy?s room when she?s bigger as well.

Also, you mentioned an NCT nearly new sale in one of your messages. How do you find out about them? I went to one before ds was born and it was really good, but I didn?t have a clue what to buy so I didn?t buy anything.

Jenwa, I hope you made it to your gran?s ok today.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
