I am so so so so soooooo pleased for you- and not a little bit envious!!!!!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/02/2009 21:07

How fantastic for you Have heard of that before.

poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:07

at least you're trying pearls -I'm too cowardly to bite the bullet yet..so to speak as frightened abotu coping when I go back to work.

but I digress -its such good news...

Essie3 · 16/02/2009 21:08

OH MY GOD! I just flipped to the last page and the first thing I saw was Sponge!! I screamed and Tim got all panicky.
Wonderful news - tell all, what got you suspicious? When did you do the test? How early? (No wonder you're tired, btw)

Tears here too.

And Iestyn is 8 months old exactly at 9.14 tonight (so in a minute now). He has no birthday buddies. He celebrated by taking 3oz from a bottle today!

Essie3 · 16/02/2009 21:08

Yaaay - come back on here Sponge and talk to us!

spongebrainbigpants · 16/02/2009 21:10

Hello, I'm here!

AliandHerScallywag · 16/02/2009 21:11

Sponge!!!!!!!!!! I have started crying too. I am so happy for you and DH. I have to admit that when you said last week about stomach pains I did ponder, but didn't dare hope...

How many weeks? My fingers are very crossed for you. Thanks for telling us. I feel honoured with such special news.

poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:11

iestyn knows how to party..

spongebrainbigpants · 16/02/2009 21:14

Well, we laughed in the face of contraception given fertility has never exactly been my problem!

And have to confess it was a one hit wonder - we had sex once this month, but obviously happened to do it the right time. I feel like a teenager!

P&P, sorry, I know other people's pg news isn't always easy to hear. .

Happy 8 mths Iestyn - didn't realise he didn't have a birth buddy? He is a unique boy!

OP posts:
spongebrainbigpants · 16/02/2009 21:16

Ali, it's very early!

No sane person would tell anyone at four weeks but I'm not sane and never thought this would happen to me in a million years so sod it!

Dh has just said we have The Times to thank for the pg - he read an article about rekindling your sex life and promptly came home and jumped me!

OP posts:
Essie3 · 16/02/2009 21:16

Talk, talk I say! Ali is right, we're honoured to share this news. Did you ever imagine in a million years that you would be the first of us to go up the duff?
We're all going to get suspicious whenever you mention miracles now!

Iestyn, yeah, rock that ebm...

poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:18

I read that article and dh said are you trying to kill me but great news..am so pleased.

p&p didn't mean to sound flippant -as sponge says I know how bittersweet to hear this kind of thing .

poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:19

first of many I hope essie.. am giggling about the idea of iestyn as party king.

AliandHerScallywag · 16/02/2009 21:20

I know it's early, but even being pg is just fantastic.

How is DH feeling?

Essie3 · 16/02/2009 21:21

That's even better - just the once! (Although Iestyn is proof that once is enough - DH was away for 2 months but back for one night...) Also read the Times article but I can guarantee that nothing's going on here.

4 weeks is early, but think positive. My friend (due April) told us the day of her pg test, so 2 weeks, as she figured - after a long journey with IVF finally being successful - that she'd rather share than be full of misery all alone if IVF didn't work.

How are you feeling? Sick, tired? Really healthy? (I'm told some people feel great during pg ) Didn't all the painting make you feel sick as a dog?

spongebrainbigpants · 16/02/2009 21:21

Essie, no, I didn't in a million years - tbh, part of me didn't think it would ever happen again.

Hmm, may have to stop using the word miracle!

poppy, if all works out will definitely be contacting The Times to tell them their part in the conception!

poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:22

god - if I hadn't known I was pregnant I'd have htought someting seriously wrong with me... sponge prob just feeling very shocked!

spongebrainbigpants · 16/02/2009 21:25

Yes, being pg is amazing. Feel very sick which was when I started getting suspicious that my dodgy tummy was not a bug.

Told everyone I was pg with Alex right from the start so yes, should be more optimistic!

This was the article in case anyone's interested:

rekindling your sex life

OP posts:
poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:26

not much chance of that tongiht..dh snoring on the sofa in front of the most outrageous channel 4 programme (the gangster and the pervert peer)

AliandHerScallywag · 16/02/2009 21:27

I so excited that I am making myself feel sick by absentmindedly stuffing these into my mouth as I read and type

poppy34 · 16/02/2009 21:28

you're probably sympathy craving/being sick with sponge ali

spongebrainbigpants · 16/02/2009 21:28

One of dh's friends has just texted to say that his little tadpole must have been one hell of a pot holer! Lol! Why doesn't my egg get any credit, eh?!
