Anyone want to take their minds of their woes for some trivial shopping? I need a dress for my best friends wedding in 3 weeks time

It involves two nights away with my lovely SIL getting pampered.

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 14:48

? am not good at clothes, but I have a hankering for a Monsoon dress

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 14:50

I bloody love that dress Ria Tis lovely. With some matching shoes ...

But its very far out of my price range

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 14:51

Oh, sorry

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 14:54

M&S

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 14:57

this one very classy I think?

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 14:57

Oh don't be sorry Ria! It was an extremely good suggestion Especially as I had given no other information other than 'a dress'!

So don't be , you either know me better than I thought or know clothes better than you think.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 14:58

I have to go and do school run and get baby up, arse, I'm loving these. Will come back later and have a good look

Thanks!

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 15:01

I think I have peaked (can't hink of any more shops) Am v chuffed that BHS do size 22. Just need somewhere to go where I could wear that last one.

No time to go back to bed now, suppose I should better get dressed

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 18:00

not a dress exactly, but...

Or reasonably priced?

LackaDAISYcal · 24/02/2009 20:05

evening all; I saw that dress in the window of Monsoon today and thought it was lush. I did see one similar to it elsewhere though....but am wracking my brain thinking where? will have scout round for you foxy. What is your price range btw?

fucking hell fury, that is shit . Mine are just useless and keeping in touch. Still waiting on a card and present for the arrival of bumble, and my next oldest sister never sent any Christmas presents at all. She thought she would save them till we came up at half term . But we didn't make it up because of me being in hospital so looks like she'll be saving them for next year.

arse for all the assorted illnesses again. A few sniffles here, but that's all thankfully.

doggus · 24/02/2009 20:08

Went for my scan and we found a heartbeat, hooray, but the gestational sac is too small. So I don't knwow what to think. I have to go back in 2 weeks. He says he thinks I have about a 90% chance of a viable pregnancy so I can't be too downhearted. Any of you had this experience - I might post on the Pregnancy board if not.

Foxy - take a look in New Look. I know it's a bit cack but I bought two lovely dresses in there and they look really expensive. I will take a look on the site and if they are there will show you them.

doggus · 24/02/2009 20:13

Foxy - this is it.

It's really flattering as it's empire line. And cheap as chips.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 20:13

Oh Doggus! My fingers are very firmly crossed for you. Not much point in saying 'try not to worry', but do try to keep that 90% in focus, hard as it is.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 20:13

Concentrate on the 90% Doggus!!! And I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Right, off to make myself a pancake Just the one mind, I'm not going to undo all the good of the hour's pilates I've just done [smug]

LackaDAISYcal · 24/02/2009 20:14

yay for the heartbeat doggus, but on the sac being too small. 90% is good though I think. you should pop onto the miscarriage avengers thread in conception or knickercheckers anonymous in pregnancy as someone will have had a similar experience, or you'll get some good advice if you start a new thread.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 20:16

So many lovely dresses around. I was thinking something vintage and flowery Jammy and am going to Debenhams on Friday and love the New Look ones Doggus.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 20:23

Ooooh, that hit the spot! I made one for jamlet as her post-nursery snack, but waited for mine until pudding after I'd exercised and had dinner. And there's batter in the fridge for tomorrow

LackaDAISYcal · 24/02/2009 20:50

too flashy?

i like the colours of this

more flower prints

only kidding

or design your own

the style shake website is reasonably priced for something pretty unique, and even if you don't go for one of theirs, you can indulge your inner Stella McCartney for fun

LackaDAISYcal · 24/02/2009 21:17

nope seems fine

I am thread killer extraordinaire this evening. This is about the fourth one!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 21:23

I'm back. it was nothing personal, I just had to do some chores and get bags packed for the gym tomorrow. (I must be a glutton for punishment)

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 21:27

Sorry Daisy! Your own fault though - we're all playing on Style Shaker

this is mine

LackaDAISYcal · 24/02/2009 21:32

ooh, nice colour. not sure about the sleeves though, but I have shit fashion sense, so what do I know!!

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 21:40

They're a nod to the '70s

If I could put a full length maxi skirt on it, I would. Think Margot in the Good Life

LackaDAISYcal · 24/02/2009 21:43

lol @ margot

I'm more Barbara than Margot myself
