Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/02/2009 19:59

I've had some toast & marmite

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2009 20:23

I've just had fish and chips and tiramisu

Weigh-in day today. Can you tell?!

Am good thanks Fury. Glad half term is over (it did seem like a particularly loooong week) and I am back on track with my WW and exercise. I've started running, and have learnt that my knees are fucked.

I am getting old

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2009 20:23

oh, lol.....DH went upstairs to settle bumble about half an hour ago. I can hear bumble still chuntering to himself......and DH snoring over the baby monitor

families can be shit fury, and it never fails to amaze me how parents can reduce us to tears with hurtful words even as adults. Glad you're feeling better.

oooh, jammy....you never know. some women get periods when pregnant, especially if taking contraceptives!!

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2009 20:24

STOP IT DAISY!!!

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2009 20:31

Why is LO howling and screaming?

Any ideas? I've not.

Might just turn the monitor off.

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2009 20:43

I am weak. She rules the roost, and is up insisting I read her books.

But, my God, she is gorgeous

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2009 20:51

we need to see some recent photos foxy!!

DD is getting to be a bit of a madam around these parts too; her daddy is spoiling her. She has eaten the plastic off the handle of her cup, taken a chunk out of the end of the cot ( as it's in good nick and were going to sell it at the next NCT sale) andeaten some expanded polystyrene today....what a nutter!

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2009 20:54

She's had half a banana and is chatting away in bed now.

Haven't had time to do pics.

My dinner was a whole days worth of points in the end. Oops!

How's the house looking Daisy?

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2009 21:28

Not bad foxy. I have several bags waiting to disappear into the loft; an empty laundry basket and full drawers and wardrobes.....and a hoovered downstairs.

tomorrow I'll tackle the shelves (where the blazes does all the collected detritus come from?????) and do some dusting.

I'm aiming for two small chores every day...little and often.

oooh, I'm off to the hospital an Thursday for my pre-op assessment appointment. I presume they will be assessing me to see how urgent it is and will give me a date depending on how bad it is.

and Dh is being done on thursday as well. He is a bit nervous about it.

keepingitRia · 23/02/2009 22:00

nervous? what could go wrong?

(Dsis does lots of them. She says before she came back to live here she had never worked so close to home before and now she often gets "hellos" from blokes in Tesco etc who she's assisted with, and I think there have been a few old school chums too - not that she ever says anything, but it's amazing how many of her patients think she must tell people and so we end up knowing when there's no need to IYSWIM, not that operation though)

Having daddy home has really buggered bedtime here.

keepingitRia · 23/02/2009 22:01

you coming to do my house next daisy?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/02/2009 22:02

little and often sounds good Daisy.

But NO NO NO I am not, can not be, will not be pregnant!!!!! I am WAY too obese to cope with it at the moment, and besides I am doing wedding photography in July so need to be mobile, and full of beans for that, not with child!! And DH would seriously freak!!!

And Fury, my folks can really hurt me sometimes. I think it's just part of life. Sorry you've been upset though.

Well, toast and marmite stayed were it ought too, and I have bathed and pampered and feel 100% more human than I did this afternoon But I think I ought to go to bed, so I bid you all goodnight.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2009 22:13

I think he has paid too much attention to the risks bit of the paperwork; erectile disfunction, constant pain, loss of libido....etc etc.

The chancer is using "I'm worried the DC will hurt me" as an excuse to spend the day fishing by himself on Saturday though

oooh, BIL and SIL were over on sunday; they got me a day pass to a health spa for my 40th . Can't wait to be able to use it!

keepingitRia · 23/02/2009 22:21

ahh, nothing to worry about then

fishing sounds dangerous

night jammy, hope you feel better tomorrow.

Lucky you daisy

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2009 23:09

just men and their tackle Ria; you know how precious they are about it....that's his wedding tackle, not fishing tackle, lol

I can't wiat until he is bruised and sore and then I'm going to pester him for sex

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 06:00

Stuff! Jamlet woke at 5-o-flipping-clock this morning Not a happy mummy!!

HellHathNoFury · 24/02/2009 08:31

I am aware that all families can be horrid, but does your sister turn to you, in front of your DH, and say in all seriousness 'so what made you want to marry a personality-deficient hairy gibbon?'

or...
your dad say to you 'I saw the photos of the house you bought. Expensive for something that's not really very nice, isn't it? What made you want to buy that one then?'

On the other hand, DS did a wee and a poo in his potty this morning - first try - so perhaps he got his lovely genes from his fathers side and not my arsehole lot.

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 09:28

fury. DHs lot can be a bit like that. My dad hardly ever says anything nasty about anyone, he is the nicest person I know (but his sister is a witch who hasn't spoken to him for 15 years or so), my mum can be venemous, but usually saves it for when there's no audience. for DS though, baggins likes to do that in the bath.

steady daisy, that could backfire on you big time

is jamlet any better jammy? and you?

DH has gone to the job centre and CAB this morning. He has been sent to the supermarket as I have a banging headache, stomach ache and feel sick. Sofa and cbeebies for me until nap time.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 12:20

No, Fury, I can't say my family have said anything as blatant as that (for you that is, for me).

Feeling much better today thanks, Ria. Jamlet was a bit miffed to go to nursery this morning. I think she'd quite enjoyed 2 days cuddling with Mummy on the sofa. But a friend dropped her DD off about 5 mins after I'd dropped jamlet and she was fine by then.

Haven't tried jamlet on the potty yet, but it is sitting about in the living room and she plays with it sometimes (putting things in and out). And she picked the girls' potty training book (written to be aimed at toddlers) from the library last week so we were reading that yesterday.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 12:27

Families tend to think you are their property and they can say what they like, when infact its a long time since they've really known you (IME).

I've distanced myself from mine because I'm not interested in their constant negative shit and don't want it around my children.

(My mum once told DS2 when he was about 3 that he was 'spiteful'. He's the least nasty child you could every wish to meet).

I asked my mum to help me out for the first time in ooh, 7 years. She wouldn't come.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/02/2009 12:28

Fury, that wasn't meant to sound like 'my family is more shit than yours' BTW! Just to show that I get what you are saying

Not competing for who's got the shitest rellies award

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 12:33

No, lets definitely not start a shit rellies award!

Ria, sorry my brain missed the last piece of your post before . Hope you're feeling a bit better after some rest?

FrazzledFairyFay · 24/02/2009 13:45

Oh no, I can't believe everyone is ill again . Roll on summer, I am so sick of all the bugs, not to mention the cold weather, etc.

I am starting a cookery course tonight, just 5 weeks to start with 'World Cookery'. Today is tagine and herbed couscous. I'm really looking forward to it, although I'm not a big fan of tagine

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 14:28

sounds good fairy. DH was just saying last night how I don't appreciate good food.

Had to take co-codamol as no paracetamo; so feel worse. Think I'm going to go back to bed for a bit as DH has some P/T work tonight. He is just making pancake mix for me (shame he won't be here to make the pancakes, but never mind)

There was no-one at the CAB to see him, despite them telling him on the phone yesterday to go today. I think he will have to try and secure an appointment as he can't be driving into town on a whim everyday on JSA.

doggus · 24/02/2009 14:32

I'm ill again too, as is dh and ds - we've all got sore throats. Dh worked out last night that we have had three days of good health since way before Christmas. I just wanted to say to all the sick people - you are not alone (misery loves company and all that).

I am very excited as I am going for a private scan. I think I am 8 weeks so fingers crossed for a heartbeat!
