I am also a trundler ria. Even when I was fit and svelte I could never run and looked like I had a bit of a problem when I did! My knees are waaaaaay dodge though and I could never attempt any sort of high impact exercise without being in severe pain. I hope your new regime pays off. I was going to do the Special K two bowls, two meals, two weeks thing. I have done it before and it worked. Alas I went to Sainsbos and bought marshmallows and Guinness! Damn my lack of self control

keepingitRia · 16/02/2009 23:24

guinness. I drank so much pre-DS1 (i used to be able to match DH pint for pint back then) that I couldn't stomach it when PG with him and have hardly touched it since. How I miss it... (Murphys stinks BTW) DH would be even more as I slipped up when wine shopping and bought him a Merlot Rose rather than a red. I'm sure he will survive though It is chilling as we speak but he is not here. He has a very exciting possibility in the pipeline, the only being that it is eating into his time off. But we could be within a month if it's real, he is expecting something on paper within a week or so...

BTW holly, I really liked your website.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 16/02/2009 23:29

Thanks love!! I need to do some work on it, I haven't updated it in about 2 weeks...whoops!

How exciting for dh. I hope it works out, he (and you) could really do with a break.

My Guinness is delish! I'd forgotten how good it tastes! It was £2 for a bottle of Guinness and a funky glass in Sainsbos, so dp and I got one each. I've only got one mouthful left. I shall savour it!

keepingitRia · 16/02/2009 23:45

oh no. not more glasses... I tried to give friends some Fosters glasses on Friday but they didn't want them. Will have to go to Sainbos and check them out.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 17/02/2009 07:35

ive been up since 5am

HellHathNoFury · 17/02/2009 10:47

Jammy I use Yasmin too, it's fab.
Really really mild dose as well.

I had problems with pills for YEARS until I discovered this one.

LittleMissNorty · 17/02/2009 16:51

Hello everyone

Just a quickie to say a huge thank-you to you all for our pressies that arrived today.

I love the T-shirts and as you can imagine, the ITNG blanket went down very well with DD who hasn't let it go yet.

The Thomas the tank cot pull was lovely....its so nice to see something for a boy rather than all the fairy wands / dollies that are scattered around the house

My bath things are lovely (Sanctuary is my fave) and come at just the right time....DH is back at work, my mum has just gone home and I'm on my own with them for the first time and am knackered. DD has had D&V since Sunday and isn't eating.....just drinking.....and DS is on antibiotic eyedrops for 2 gunky eyes, has a cold for which the only thing I can do is saline drops and poking tissues up his nose to get bogies out and is also constipated....

So the postman on my doorstep with a lovely card and pressies made me cry....Thank-you so much

Off to catch up if they'll let me have 10 mins.....

TALLULAHBELLE · 17/02/2009 17:57

Hi Norty - glad you like the pressies. Hope you get a chance to enjoy a nice soak later. Colds & bugs sound horrendous. Gotta go Thing1 screaming for a feed, thing2 just had explosive poo & DD throwing milk everywhere. Remind me why we do this???

LoveaDAISYcal · 17/02/2009 18:12

hey guys. Thanks for all your lovely text messages . They really cheered me up. Home for now, but will be back in a few weeks to have gallbladder removed. The problem this weekend was a stone blocking the bile duct (took three days to pass...ouch) and causing me all the pain. There is still a bit of inflammation and discomfort, but I feel human again. My eyes were yellow last night and my wee was the colour of tizer...nice. Ultrasound today confirmed many more stones just waiting to try and make their escape. But blardy hell Norty; it fucking hurts!

But, I have a great weight loss programme...the gippy gallbladder starvation diet; I lost half a stone this weekend

Off to catch up

Norty, I'm glas the pressies cheered you up, but sorry the DC's are poorly

Tallulah, I just don't know how you do it

Daisy, I'm so glad you are feeling a bit better, but sorry to hear you have to have an op. I suppose the weight loss is a bright side

TALLULAHBELLE · 17/02/2009 19:56

Hey Daisy - nice to see you back but OUCH.

doggus · 17/02/2009 20:07

daisy - welcome back, and glad you got a diagnosis. Did you get massive woozy making painkillers, yummy?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2009 20:18

Good to see you're still with us daisy, good to have you back! Hope you aren't in too much pain you poor thing. How was it with ds in hospital? xxx

Norty, glad you like the pressies and hope you can get the chance for a good long soak with the Sanctuary stuff. Hope the dcs get better soon.

Doggus, did you get to Ikea over the weekend? I went on Friday and it was fine, not too busy at all. Tried to go yesterday and couldn't park, apparently it was manic. I guess that's half term for you.

LittleMissNorty · 17/02/2009 20:55

Hope it is only a few weeks Daisy....I've got to start at the beginning again and go to the GP.

Last attack I had was when I was heavily pg and at the swings with DD and I had to get her off and drive home in that sort of pain....twas pretty scary.

Right off to bed for me....forgotten what sleep deprivation was like!

I can't remember Tallulah why we do it.....

(they are lovely but not when ill!)

LoveaDAISYcal · 17/02/2009 21:10

No doggus, because of the BFing they wouldn't give me anything stronger than para-fucking-cetomol. Until I kicked up a stink then they tried tramadol (no effect) and then buscopan (???) which were better, but still didn't get rid. I tried to tell them that short term use of morphine was fine, but they just looked at me like

I have codeine that the GP prescribed for future attacks though!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/02/2009 21:37

Good to see you back Daisy. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the surgery.

Well it doesn't compare to gallstones I'm sure, but I had reflexology tonight and I asked her if she could "do" anything with my hormones. Well, she had a go at my big toes and oh-my-fucking-god that hurt!! It was all I could do not to jump out of the chair (would have been difficult as it's a reclining chair I was feet up). And after all that she said there's nothing wrong with my hormones, it's the pill that's out of balance, so it hasn't actually done me any good anyway.

keepingitRia · 17/02/2009 22:01

my friends partner is a reflexologist/holisitc therapist - she does amazing things to DHs shoulder but I never took her up on the offer of my feet - glad I didn't if it's painful. I nearly trained as one when DS1 was a baby.

Norty, glad your pressies arrived at a good time. Am of your sanctuary stuff. Glad DD liked her blankie. Sorry they are ill though.

Hey daisy, good to have you back, hope it doesn't all take too long. My Dad and Uncle both had kidney stones and my uncle said something very complimentary about my aunt having done childbirth if it hurt that much.

Hi everyone.

It is completely against the rules but I have been for another "run"(said oh so loosely) today. It's addicitve (OK, so my goal is to be able to actually complete the whole of the first training session but the adrenalin is fab) Bgggins fell in another rock pool though...

keepingitRia · 17/02/2009 22:03

the only thing is (and it could be the increased activity or the sea air) it makes me hungry!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/02/2009 22:11

It's not normally painful, Ria. It's lovely usually. And even tonight I ended the session in the most relaxed state. But my big toes are still tingling now it must be said.

And well done on the run! I went to my yoga today and that was good. And I did feel fab all afternoon for doing it Gym tomorrow though, see how the hamstrings doing now.

keepingitRia · 17/02/2009 22:21

I think Dsis had it for her back too and she felt pain (but Dsis is a nurse so maybe not that receptive of alternative medicine). DH does shiatsu and that is nice

DS1 just watched No Reservations with us. It's nice to have a bit of film time with him. and it is a nice film. (tis nice now to have time with DH though, wish we had lovely food/nibbles to make up for Saturday). Suppose I should hit the off switch...

doggus · 18/02/2009 14:34

Holly - no I still haven't been, [particularly after the Wave 105 'every street in S'ampton is jammed' stories every day). Think I will go on a quiet Monday, after half term, and will let you know in case you fancy a jaunt.

Daisy - boo on the painkillers. They can give you morphine when b/f but I think you have to do lots of screaming and begging. Codeine is OK but eat some prunes!

Ds ill again - he has just puked all over our lovely rug which has immediately gone to the dry cleaners as the smell was abominable OCD face.

keepingitRia · 18/02/2009 15:22

poor DS doggus.

can you use TENS on the pain daisy? (sorry if that's a really stupid suggestion)

Natty, are you lurking? Hope your meeting went OK. Come and rant if you need to.

Ohforfoxsake · 18/02/2009 15:27

Arse and shite for you Daisy

{{{{Good luck and get it sorted vibes for Natty}}}}

LOL at why do we do it Tallulah. Wait til you have them all at home for February half-term.

Fucking hell.

And its only Wednesday.

Jammy I need some of your motivation. Have fallen well out of 'the zone' thanks to lack of sleep and having the kids around forcing me to turn to the biscuit tin at times of severe stress and whinging. Where's our other 'fit-thread'?

keepingitRia · 18/02/2009 15:41

HI again foxy. BrownSuga is on that other thread too.

(Yes I am mnetting when I should be out "running" but DH is obviously too busy having his affair with the woman at work - so is the rumour because they leave work at the same time and she isn't conventionally pretty but he's still nice to her - or beggered off to hospital, and hasn't the time to let me know) The weather is too grim to expect the boys to play on the beach while I stumble after the pushchair today
