Foxy Foxy, that is exactly what happened to me, I was doing quite well then flu hit, lack of sleep, then colds after that. The DCs have been miserable and whingy, yesterday they were crying in stereo and my immediate reaction was to scoff DS's leftover pasta (he's not eating anything except bananas, yogurt and crackers, but you have to try...)

Anyway, just wanted you to know you're not alone, and well done Jammy and Ria for staying on track.

Welcome back Daisy

LittleMissNorty · 18/02/2009 16:43

Hello all

I actually managed to get out of the house on my own with both DCs today..... It was a bloody effort I can tell you.

DD much better today so let her run off some energy at the swings.....DS in the buggy asleep Pic on my profile of the 2 of them in the buggy.....and Daisy, DS is wearing a lovely snowsuit....a bit lost in it atm...his whole body fitted in the abdominal bit . Buggy was great as well....didn't do my scar any good getting it up and down the kerbs....or lifting DD onto slide...but what can you do...pretty impossible to rest for 6 hours, let alone 6 weeks.

DD still not eating, so I am helping her eat her hot cross bun

Hats off to you Foxy on having 4 at home for a week.....I don't know how anyone does more than 2....and I'm only 2 days in really.

House is like a shit-hole...

If someone is handing out motivation to get fit and diet, I'll have some please ....no excuses any more.

Hope you're feeling ok Daisy

Natty....how did you get on? OK I hope.

keepingitRia · 18/02/2009 17:01

pah, DH was in a "meeting" and has had to go back early for another "meeting" (so not only is his work time shit because of the bosses, it is eating into his free time because he has to sit and talk about them being shit)

I am not on track today, although I did mention treadmills again if DH gets home before 9.30 tonight I will go for my run then...

suppose I'd better go and heat up the truly disgusting looking stew I made in the slow cooker.

keepingitRia · 18/02/2009 17:02

well done on getting out Norty

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/02/2009 17:05

Glad you got out Norty, well done!

Foxy - here for our "fit" thread.

keepingitRia · 18/02/2009 17:24

have joined the fit thread.

Sputnik · 18/02/2009 18:36

God I'm annoyed, something is wrong with our gas and the boiler has been refusing to work when it's cold, and now it's really cold I can't even get gas for the cooker.

Have just phoned DH and asked him to get takeaways.

LoveaDAISYcal · 18/02/2009 19:08

Yay for getting out Norty, but try and take it easy on that scar. I overdid things with DD and ended up with an infection and taking ages to heal. Pics are fab. That snowsuit is very generously sized for a newborn. Bumble had only just grown out of it at nearly 16lbs when it said 11.5lbs on the label.

DH let me sleep in today, even though DS1 puked in the night and then slept on the sofa with him from then. After feeding bumble this morning, I went back to sleep until after ten; it was lovely. Had to go back to hospital and pick up my prescription today (paracetomol...woohoo ) so we took the DC to the Thackray Medical Museum which is next to the hospital. Very interesting, but lots of gruesome instruments on display, especially in the gynae section . They had a pregnany empathy belly though, so I made DH put it on!

I need to find the fit thread.....weighed myself today and I've lost 8lbs since last week . I hope it keeps falling off as I was able to get a pair of pre DD trousers on today

LittleMissNorty · 18/02/2009 19:44

So here I am ready to cook a healthy stir-fry ( of takeaway Sputnik) and cos I scoffed one and a half hot cross buns at 5pm, I'm not bloody hungry now

of lie-in as well....sounds lovely. Is paracetamol all they gave you Daisy? Have they given you any idea of how long you've got to wait?

LittleMissNorty · 18/02/2009 19:47

Museum sounds great as well.....We have very interesting museums in the sort of places I have worked (mainly for the benefit of medical students)....lots of "specimens" IYKWIM on display.....I'm weird I know........

LoveaDAISYcal · 18/02/2009 21:14

They said 4-6 weeks Norty, so hopefully not long at all. Hopefully the fact that it landed me in hospital has bumped me up the list a bit.

Yup, paracetomol, inspite of me repeatedly telling them that it was doing nothing for the pain. They gave me some anti-emetics as well as it made me feel very sick. I have some 30/500 co-codamol that the OOH doc gave me though. I sound like a right old junkie, lol

I had a very naughty dinner tonight as it included chips . But the rest was chicken kebab and salad so quite healthy and low fat. I'm really struggling with low fat as a concept as I've always used fats in moderation, but have eaten things like cream and butter and fried foods when I want to. This complete change in how I look at food and having to have every meal a low fat one is pretty daunting.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/02/2009 21:32

I think that museum sounds good too. I was at a meeting at the rotal college of obs and gynae in London once and had a look in their museum in the lunchbreak - 20 mins in there is the best bloody contraceptive going if you ask me!

Daisy, hope you can get by not too on your new diet. And what is it with hospitals thinking that paracetamol is a cure all?

FrazzledFairyFay · 18/02/2009 21:59

I'm with you at being that hospital's think paracetamol being a cure-all. I was offered one when crying in pain in labour with DD and I nearly told the midwife where she could stick it.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/02/2009 22:03

I only had paracetamol as pain relief when having DD Fairy! Maybe it is a cure-all after all? Or maybe it isn't and labour bloody hurt?

Sputnik · 19/02/2009 11:29

Well my supposedly non eating DS ate half a pizza yesterday, so it's just my cooking he doesn't like. I feel I am having the piss taken!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 19/02/2009 12:36

well im having a bad week.
stupid midwife didnt order my tests, so now i have to wait again for them to come back.
now thomas has V&D and i cant go to citezins advice, which i waited two weeks for.

why do i bother!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/02/2009 14:34

Oh Natty for you. Poor things, both of you.

Have you rearranged the appointment?

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 19/02/2009 14:48

they said they would call me back, ive rung twice more and been told they would ring me back,
i need a new appointment its important, and they are annoying me. its not my fault thomas is throwing up everywhere is it? (fucking typical tho)

LoveaDAISYcal · 19/02/2009 16:34

arse for you natty. Try not to be too annoyed with the CAB though, as they are run by volunteers performing a much sought after service with not enough resources.

I hope DS is better soon.

DD had a thirty minute long tantrum earlier today. Over a helmet for Action Man that she couldn't get on. DS1 tried to help her and she thought he was taking it from her and just kicked off. Full blown, screaming, kicking, head bashing tantrum, and she wouldn't let me help her either. DS and I left the room at one point and she followed us and carried on the tantrum in the hallway. Then she got into her head that DH would rescue her so started shouting on him and it became all about screaming at me, and wanting DH. I eventually put her in her cot and waited in the room until calmed down, talking quietly to her while she did. Not sure I handled it correctly, but I didn't want her to get the idea that she could turn to the other parent for cuddles when she really needed to be calming down. It seems to have worked though as she had the toy later, and was again trying to put his helmet on but came over to me with it and said "help please mummy" instead of kicking off. Phew, hard work this parenting lark sometimes.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 19/02/2009 16:40

lol daisy sounds like thomas! i think u handled it very well, we had a playpen in the hall at one point that i used to "timeout" tom in. but like u i would stay with him and talk to him till he calmed down.

CAB got back to me, seems the messages were not passed on to the guy we were seeing, but its all sorted now for next thursday. 10 am tho

keepingitRia · 19/02/2009 17:29

oh dear Natty, but at least you have another appt.

Baggins had a tantrum like that the other night because I wouldn't let him hold his own ice cream. Fortunately it was bedtime.

Just back from the forestry, covered in mud!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 19/02/2009 19:17

oh sounds exciting, ive been stuck in all day.

what do u think was up with tom? he threw up once in the night and once in the morning (before breakfast). then nothing since. i starved him till 12 and gave in and gave him some food because he was begging me. he was fine with that (slice of bread lol) then he held down some plain pasta an hour later, and had a full dinner this evening.
so is he sick or not? do you think that his dinner last night upset him? ive been a bit windy and crampy today, maybe the chicken was a bit dodgy.

do you think he will be ok to go out tomorrow? i dont think he is actually sick, but im not sure.

any ideas?

LoveaDAISYcal · 19/02/2009 19:23

DS1 was like that yesterday Natty. He threw up in the night, again in the morning, then nothing and was right as rain by lunchtime.

keepingitRia · 19/02/2009 19:26

I would say if he's OK overnight then go out somewhere in the fresh air, but maybe not somewhere hot and stuffy and full of kids.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/02/2009 19:39

Evening all. DH's birthday today so just popping in and then off to have special birthday dinner with him. Chilli, slaw, salsa, rice and corn muffins! Maybe not the most healthy meal though . Lots of veg in it though, so as long as I have plenty of rice and veg and a medium sized portion of chilli I should do OK. I think I might blow it though if I have corn muffins, but am keen to do so having hunted out special ingredients and made them and everything. And we have pineapple for pudding, so that'll be good at least.

Arse about your CAB appintment Natty. Hope you can make the next one.

Have a nice evening everyone.
