Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Just caught up with your post Daisy. Sounds awful. Hope nothing too serious.

Hi B - you'd think they'd be going out their way to keep our business atm. It is the BOS Halifax after all. Think i'd do better with a shoebox under t'bed.

T you can phone them and ask them to discount the 2,50 as its a small amount, i did this last week,
if you dont normally make this mistake and you ask REAL nicely they might write the whole thing off.
im halifax too

keepingitRia · 09/02/2009 17:02

hmm, baggins is playing with Aragorns sword and making swishing noises (it is a plastic one for an interactive TV game, not a full-n steel replica!)

Good news for DS1. He has had a good day in isolation, been pleasant and chatty with the teachers. Apparently the kid who caused all the trouble is about 1 incident away from permanent exclusion, so at least he hasn't got away with it. Oh, and the PE teacher asked why DS was in iso. and when DS said for fighting he asked who with. When DS said XX the teacher said "oh that's not too bad, XX is a proper pain"

Tbelle, I think Barclays don't charge if the amount of the direct debit is less than the charges you would incur (DH told me something, but I wasn't paying attention) when my washing machine insurance was £2 short I didn't get any charges and the DD still got paid. Try ringing up and crying, and that you've just had not one but two babies.

TALLULAHBELLE · 09/02/2009 17:19

Sent DH round to bank - just couldn't face it myself. Really would cry. Anyway, he explained it was oversight due to me being just out of hosp etc. As 'goodwill gesture' they have written off 2 of the charges but are still charging me 70 quid. surely for 'goodwill' they could let me off with the lot. I am usually v careful to stay in credit.

Ohforfoxsake · 09/02/2009 17:21

T - switch your account to Alliance & Leicester - they are offering £100. You'd be in profit then

TALLULAHBELLE · 09/02/2009 17:22

On brighter note - we finally get a bit of decent snow so DD had fun today. New photos on profile.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/02/2009 17:25

T, call them and kick up a stink Can't believe they are charging you for each transaction. Definately tell them you will be taking your banking elsewhere; long standing customer, never usually having probelms etc.....they will refund them if you make enough noise. If all else fails, tell them you have just had twins, have a toddler and are exhausted and cry

Just back from the docs; he isn't sure what caused the nasty pains under my ribcage, but got me to do a sample for the kidney pain and I have a kidney infection . The sample was really dark and cloudy with stringy bits in it and traces of blood.....nice . So I'm loaded with antibiotics (woohoo thrush here we come) and on R&R (easy with 3 children...not) and if it doesn't clear then to go back and they may need to do more tests.

Interesting you say it sounds like your gallbladder pain Norty and Doggus. I'll keep an eye on it and will go to the hospital next time! (mental note to self to stock up on ebm)

Doggus, I had an early scan with DS and they me at 6+1 and they could see the yoke and sac, and what may or may not have been the foetal pole. It scared me as when I had a scan at 6+5 with DD they saw a heartbeat....but perfectly normal and right for gestational age apparently.

Carrie and David's Popshop has got to be the most annoying thing on TV at the minute. Who dreams up these programmes? bumble is killing himself laughing at it though

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/02/2009 17:34

Love the pics T Arse about the bank though.

Sorry about the ABs etc Daisy. Do try to get some rest (yeah, right!). And I totally agree about Carrie & David.

Ria, hope things sort out for DS.

Jamlet went into a new room at nursery today. Not sure why, I don't think it's an older age group though. I was late picking her up and risked missing the bus if I stayed to ask why, so will have to do that tomorrow. She had a good time though apparently meeting new friends Was nearly impossible to gert pushchair through the ice and snow to the bus though And I'm out again in an hour to go give blood.

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/02/2009 17:41

for all the bad days.

A quick question - has anyone by any chance been to Tuscany in mid to late October (long shot!). I was just wondering what the weather might be like then?

Not sure about Tuscany in October fairy, but it's got to be better than here!

Cross posted T, sounds like the bank could have pushed their goodwill a little further. Foxy's idea of switching is a good one!

Ria, I'm glad DS had a better day, even if it was in isolation, and that the other boy hasn't escaped punishment either.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/02/2009 18:09

Oh, and lovely photos T. Can't believe the girls are five weeks already! Time flies.

Ohforfoxsake · 09/02/2009 18:14

All reclaiming of bank charges is on hold I think, but that's still way over other banks charges now (Barclays is £8 I think).

My kids are horrid. Better go and yell at them for being vile.

Thought we'd all have a big treat so DP went out to get fish & chips, they were all horrid to each other so food not eaten, shouting and whinging completed. Just got to get the little sods into bed and asleep. It can't come too soon.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/02/2009 19:06

Tallulah, dp got loads of bank charges written off because he said he was going to switch. He was 89p over his overdraft limit and they charged him £90!! They are big fuckers all of them. I got all my bank charges for the past 6 years back, but I did it about 2 years ago, before the big court case. It came to over £1000! I am was shit with money!

Sorry about your episode there daisy, a friend of mine has just been through gall bladder surgery and now lives off liquid morphine! She said it was horrific and when she had an attack she would pass out on the floor through the pain. I really hope it is just an infection and is cleared up with the abs.

I'm having an argument with dp on FB. He is a knob!

Ohforfoxsake · 09/02/2009 19:15

Why? What are you arguing about?

Ohforfoxsake · 09/02/2009 19:16

and are you in the same house?!

Sputnik · 09/02/2009 19:17

That sounds really scary Daisy, hope you're over it soon.

Fairy I think Tuscany could still be fairly warm in october (not swimming-pool warm though IYSWIM), but might rain or be a little cold. It'll be warmer than the UK though!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/02/2009 19:18

He is just being twunty. Yes, we are in the same house, he is on his phone. He thinks he's so damn cool, but I know different.

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/02/2009 19:19

Thanks Sputnik, and everyone else. I will look into it a bit further then

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/02/2009 19:25

Dd is sat on my lap looking at all of your FB photos. She loves looking at babies and thinks all yours are very cute!

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/02/2009 19:26

Ahhhhhhhhhhh

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/02/2009 19:27

Jamlet likes looking at your babies on FB too.

Not gone to give blood. DH feeling ill and wanted me home to look after him. Feel a bit guilty but I have done just that (have booked to give blood in a month's time though).

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/02/2009 19:29

Fairy, I love your profile pic, your ds looks really cheeky! Dd thinks he looks like my ds, apparently they have the same hair!

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/02/2009 19:32

Cheeky is one word for him. A bloomin nightmare is another
