Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Hi Lal. Just seen on FB that you have a new car - v exciting.

Just added new photos to FB (first time in aaaages). Bubba due in 4 weeks now - can't believe it really.

Lal and 2H - either of you any tips for the Grand National then?

eandh · 30/03/2009 20:11

evening - quick post as battery about to die on laptop I'm up for grand national sweep

God I remember why I hate working on the counter, I've been on there Friday and today (because its coming up for end of tax year) and some people are just so supid that I think Ellie would understand me better than they do and aaaarghhhhhhh!!!!!

Hattie is very very cute but blimmin hard work especially as she wants to do everything Ellie does. Her speech has come along so much in last 2 weeks and she is dry at night too now so really doesnt seem a baby anymore

Rgee - I cannot believe you only have 4 week sto go

Georgyporgy - welcome back

Hi PCF! Will you be offline for a while or is the first thing you have sorted in your new house internet access (priorities and all that ).

Cheers for asking about the consultant. It was hell and I ended up in floods of tears. Each time I think about it I want to cry again which is so unlike me . Basically I feel bullied into accepting continuous monitoring and being forced to lie flat on my back on a bed. I refused to accept this, and it was left for final decision to be made when I arrive at the hospital in labour . I am hoping thinking the mw might be more flexible when the time comes. If not it is not a time when I will be my usual rational self......

eandh · 01/04/2009 06:52

Rgee - that you feel like that and fingers crossed that the midwife will support what you want.

PCF- you are one brave lad doing all this a once good luck !!

Well Ellie got her 2nd choice of school, we were so shocked because the 2nd choice is a reall popular school and very hard to get in to (in fact we only put it on the form because we didnt think we stood a chance of getting it!) It will suit Ellie reall well as they have 3 classes per year and a seperate junior school where as our 1st choice only have 1 class per year. It is also very ver high in the school league tables (I was trying not to get obsessed b school league tables but its happened ) and there is at least one other child from her preschool going to the same school as her and we have friends who children go there. We told her last night and expected tears as it'll be a huge change for her (she always thought she'd go to school with eddas dd and eddas and i always taht that hattie and her ds would start the same day etc) but she is fine with it and pleased that she'll know someone snd tbh shes a social butterfly so will have no problem making new friends (I'll be the one at the school gates feeling like the 'new mum') shes also extremely happy as the unifrom is grey, white and red and she prefers that to the first choice of school uniform (green and grey) such a fickle child

Wilkiepedia · 01/04/2009 12:26

Hello all

EAH - great new re Ellie's school! I am hoping we get a certain school for JJ when the time comes but we'll see as it is a church school and although we are all christened we don't attend church.

Reg - have already said in my email but am really on your behalf. I agree that you should take it as it comes as you say, they canot force you to lie on your back with continuous monitoring. Arseholes.

PCF - glad you got an appt although you will be ready to drop by then! You don't do things by halves do you ??

Reg/PCF - am jealous of you both - 10 weeks to go here and counting. Have put on 2 stone so far

LAL - exciting re car. We have a black 308 and it is a really lovely car, I just find it a bit too wide for me (being a shortarse) and I can't judge distance very well in it. It is a lease car and goes back in 6 weeks. We have ordered an Audi A3 as a replacement which I am excited about too. I have a thing about cars

Am on my lunchbreak so is just a quick 'hello' before I go back to work. Feeling a bit blue today but never mind, it will pass I am sure. I think the whole '2 children' thing is slowly dawning on me plus we are entering summer season with golf so DH is hardly around and I really need him at the moment as I am just so tired when I get in from work. Such is life eh?

Mat leave in 6 weeks - thank christ.

xx

PCF - Your poor DP, thats terrible. I hope he is ok. What an awful thing to happen. Big hugs.

Rgee - Sorry things didn't go well with the consultation. Like you said though, its surely your final decision on the day of the birth.

Wilkie - hope you are feeling better.

Eah - Glad you are happy with the choice of school for Ellie. Our local infant "school of choice" which everyone seems desperate for their kids to go to has just had their junior school part go into special measures, and lots of people are all up in arms about it. Which is secretly making me smile as the other primarys locally although in less desirable areas, all generally are ok. But, you never know what will happen in the next few years.

I got my neighbour to put up the slide thingy last week as I am not strong enough to do it! I have to say, its totally not worth £120, but for £40 its ok!

I am exhausted, DJ was up (as usual) and about during the night, and screamed himself into being sick. Not sure if it was a bug or what, but really not what you need at 2.30am! He then wouldn't settle at all. So, coupled with the acculmulation of the last few weeks of him waking up every night I am on my knees. I just don't understand why he won't sleep through. It makes no difference if he has a nap or not, or wether he's walked for miles or sat in front of the tv. I just don't know what to do next. He didn't go to sleep until 9pm last night. And was put to bed at 6.30pm!!!!!!!

Right, have to go to Asda!
Good to see LTH on here again! - scares her off thread with excess hugging!

Ps - Raisin: Why don't you just leave the dummy idea and encourage her to find her thumb?

Lizzzombie · 01/04/2009 14:05

PPS - I went out shopping all day in Lewes on Saturday, which has lots of lovely boutiques. I met a couple of mates for lunch, then was persuaded to go to the pub.
I am not proud of the state which I found myself in later on after far too much white wine. Needless to say, I scared the foreign students enough for them to ask if I was ok, and I am now officially never ever drinking again. I am 33 & have a child. I should not be seen in public like I was seen on Saturday!

Dragonhart · 02/04/2009 09:47

All ok here same old same old. Rachel has two teeth and seems to be getting one of her back ones! So she has been terrible to settle at night. She still wont take a bottle though. I am tempted to just leave the house for the day and leave DH with a bottle and Rachel to deal with it! Once asleep she is sleeping better though which is good. Ruth has her appt today for her two year check, so we will see what they say.

Rgee- I had continuous monitoring with Luke and had him while on my back, having been there for last stages of it all. After the birth midwife, doctor and surgeon told me that had I asked, I could have had continous monitoring while mobile (albeit in a small space around the monitor)or at the very least on all fours or squating, had I asked! I was so pissed off about it as no one had told me and i would have been much happier had I been sat up. Sure that when you are there and all is well they will be more flexible. x

EAH- Glad you are happy with E school. H is doing really well with pt isnt she!

Pink- That sounds really scary for your DH. Hope it all gets sorted and they catch whoever did it.

Liz- Hope DJ is ok today.

Georgie- Hi there! Glad you are doing ok.

Wilkie- I agree with Pink that it is surprising how well they fit in. It doesnt take long to adjust then you cant imagine what you did with the extra time you had! Hope you feel a bit better when your mat leave starts.

Reggiee · 02/04/2009 10:14

My week just gets better...have got to go to the docs later to confirm if P has chickenpox and to get me checked out for it.

Reggiee · 02/04/2009 14:44

Yup - deffo the pox. Even though I've had it, I had to have a blood test to check my levels of antibodies as I am close to term. Sigh.
She had 5 spots on her tummy this morning - now up to 10. Her bum looks a horrid spotty rah mess, there's about 7 on her back, and 5 in and around one of her ears .

Dragonhart · 02/04/2009 20:09

Oh no Rgee. And you were hoping to avoid it too. Hope she is not too ill with it. xx

vinorouge · 02/04/2009 21:22

Oh rgee I am sorry to hear about pip having the pox. Not the relaxing start to mat leave yo planned!

Quickpost from me. Been out all day then busy in the kitchen all evening. Just emailing some pics to my dad.

eandh · 03/04/2009 07:14

Rgee - oh no hope shes ok (sock with oats in run under tap in bath is good and aqueaous calkamine lotion) nappy free time helped Hattie in that area

Vin - you are always so busy you make me exhausted

Lizz - sorry but pmsl at your description of yourself teh other night

DH - think you deserve a day off, sorry to hear shes not doing well with the bottle

Wilkie - hows j's chicken pox

Not alot going on here went p to E's new school and handed in all the acceptance forms and council tax bill and child benefit letter etc etc and had her easter fayre yesterday she didnt win (her hat is on my profile and the vicar was judging and she muttered to me 'well he hasnt got any good taste in hats has he' pmsl and we chatted about the 'taking part and not winning' theory. Right better go as need to leave for work soon

laughalot · 03/04/2009 11:18

Rgee oh no mate what a nightmare bless her and you. Aidan wasnt to bad when he got it but we were in menroca so I think the sun helped the spots scab quicker, but lauren did get it a bit worse. As eah said plenty of no nappy time helps . Oh and my dh is always useless in the national I will study the form later .

Wilkie so exciting we love the car but I know what you mean it seems so wide at the front. Audi a3 check you out lol.

Dragon teeth are a pain arent they ? That is when medised comes out of my cabinet .

Pcf how is dh ? What a awful thing to happen hope they catch the bu**ers. Glad max has his appointment sorted.

Vino you always seem busy lol . What have you got planned for easter ?

Lizz getting drunk is no fun nowadays is it ? Did you see shimmer isnt she that way on ?

I got a easter kit from elc yesterday was £ 6.00 reduced to £ 3.00 its has 4 collection baskets in and signs to guide the kids to there eggs lol and some cards. Just thought you would like to know.

laughalot · 03/04/2009 11:22

Dont think the easter smilies work lol

Reggiee · 03/04/2009 18:20

Cheers all. A very unsettled night for lo up on and off until 11.30pm, then up again from 4am. Am knackered today. I gave up counting spots once I reached 50 on her back. She seems ok in the day though - not quite her normal self, and has been trying to scratch most of the day.

Anyway, due to self-absorbtion , I missed PCF's post about your DH. How was he when he got home yesterday, and have the police any leads?

Eah really pleased to hear about E's school. Does that mean H will also get in there?

Wilkie yup I am burying my head in the sand a bit about imminent arrival. I just remember how knackered I felt with P and can't reconcile that with having a toddler. Having said that, I think I may have it easier than most as P will still go to nursery for 4 days, and Mil is now retired and on call for me (and lovely too!).

Lizz am v of your night out in town. But also pmsl .

Dragon I noticed last week P's final two teeth coming through - top back two. Only spotted it cos she was so dribbly. Seems funny that you are going through teething with Rachel when she still seems so young to me! How did Ruth's appointment go?

Waves to Vino and Lal.

Are the Easter smilies working yet then? Need to think of new Easter name....

EGGiee · 03/04/2009 18:23

Spot how much thought went in to that name change then

eandh · 03/04/2009 20:13

PCF - how is dh? Have the police made any progress yet?

rgee- poor P at least is now and not dealing iwth it and a newborn when can she go back to nursery?

God I am in a foul mood tonday and I dont know why

Shimmer · 03/04/2009 23:08

Hi all. So sorry to hear about your DPs horrible experience with the hold-up PCF. Hope he's okay and not feeling too traumatised!

Get well soon to P, RGee! Hope the spots clear up quickly and she's not too itchy!

Lizz you came to Lewes and got sloshed without me!?! Doesn't matter what age you are, public drunkeness is ALWAYS brilliantly embarrasing Hope DJ's doing well and not waking you up too early in the morning! I took Freddie to Spring Barn Farm Park the other day, which was ace, have you been? We should take the boys together!

Right I'm off to bed. Knackered as usual!

Wilkiepedia · 04/04/2009 16:31

Hello!

Reggie - how is P today? Bless her, at least she is not two ill with it. I second the oats in a sock over the hot ap when running a bath, friend did it with her LO and swore by its soothing properties.

EAH - has the mood lifted?

Shimmer - you can't just swan on and not give an update - how is the business going? Are you doing online ordering?

LAL - bargainous easter kit! We went to an Easter party yesterday and the host did an easter egg hunt. It was great fun - J loved it

Dragon - bummer about R not taking bottle. I wonder why? HAve you checked the teat flow - I remember J being a pain until I realised he needed a faster flow teat.

PCF - your POOR DH, thank god he was OK though. Nightmare

Not much to report, spent most of week crying - V V hormonal - but feeling better today. Have just made choc cakes with J which whiled away 40 mins, he doesn't understand concept of letting them cool and is getting narky with me now cos he wants to ice them.

Have been sorting out Bubba's room which is taking ages - have given so much stuff to charity and bought new stuff instead . A lot of J's stuff is washed out, I don't like putting tiny babies in trousers so am going for dungarees and rompers.

The nursery and our bedroom are being decorated when we go on holiday (20th April) so I need to be sorted by then!!!!!!!!

J's pox all gone - he has just got the raging shits at the moment, he's not ill so must have been something he ate.

EGGiee · 05/04/2009 19:43

Hi all.
300+ spots and I stopped counting. All blistering now so I think hope the worst is over. It's really horrid between her legs though - just a mass of scabby blisters . She had a v bad night on Fri but much better last night. Can you believe that the three chemists near me have neither calomine lotion or piriton in stock . Got some calamine type creme and own brand type piriton stuff which seems to help.

So, not done much this weekend!

Just had a lovely curry - full of garlic - big noms.

I too have been feeling ridiculously hormonal this week. Is it a full moon . I guess it's not been the best week for me.

2Happy · 06/04/2009 14:33

Goodness, what a time some of you have been having . Reg, I hope that things improve soon, poor P. And PCF your poor DP, hope he's ok! I'd offer you both hugs, but LTH might be watching

Nowt new here. Oh, except dsis had a baby. Home birth, barely 4 hours labour, no pain relief at all, grrrr .
