Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Wilkie - what a blumin nightmare you are having. At least if you do have to be induced you will a) get some relief from itching and b) not go mad with impatience waiting for lo to make his appearance.

me&dh off work this week, having an odd sort of week. DH told me my teeth often look stained so am thinking of getting them whitened. Hmmmm.

sorry everyone else, not inspired tonight. I missed the apprentice last night too. Not happy!!!!!

Just a quick update: went to hosp yesterday to discuss induction, they did a sweep (fuck me did that hurt - she practically had her whole arm up my fanjo). Said cervix wasn't favourable and would rather do another sweep next Thurs than do a medical induction - which I am ok with as I want to avoid a medical induction if poss.

I'm not posting much at the mo but am lurking, the Betnovate cream and antihistamines are helping a bit but rash is still spreading.

Reggiee · 01/06/2009 08:06

how you doing today wilkie?

is everyone pleased half term is over then?

Lizzzombie · 01/06/2009 08:58

Morning everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend.
Wilkie - I hope that you have got the itching a bit under control. Poor you having a sweep. I have to concur, I did not enjoy mine either! But...it did get things moving in my case!
(maybe she's not lurking - maybe she's having her baby?!)

Well, we went to my best mates parents house on Saturday night. They live right on the beach at Greatstone, New Romney (thats for EAH in case she knows of it) Its fabulous! The tide goes out about miles at low tide, its a bit 'sinkingsandish' but there is lots of white sand and 'puddles' to splash about in. It was rather hot though.
Her Dad has his own bar which he built at the end of their garden, so we had a very late night (well the others did, I gave up and passed out at 11.30pm!) DP was up at 5am to go to Dungeoness on a photo shoot - its a very picturesque place, and came back at 7am. All very nice. Apart from the drive back which is about an hour, but all B roads, twisting and turning and about 23 degrees, with a hangover...ugh, thought I was going to die the whole way back!

I've just baked a chocolate cake for a mates birthday this afternoon. Um, never made one before, and its looking a bit burnt - but can't tell if its the chocolate or charcoal! Will smother it in icing.

I am waiting for a call back from the Drs today to let me know whats happening with my appt at the breast clinic. Its been nearly 5 weeks now. Not good. Bet I'm out when he calls though.

Right. Thats was a bit me me me.
Hope you are all well.

I need to buy more sun cream as we are all a bit pink here.

xxx

vinorouge · 01/06/2009 22:14

Wilkie hope you are less itchy. The heat can't be good for it - have been thinking of you.

Lizz - sounds like you had a good night at your friends. Like the sound of the bar at the end of the garden. I'm jealous of your trip to the beach (even though you go all the time!). I WANT TO GO!!!!Hope you hear from drs soon.

I have been feeling a bit odd lately. V sore throat and ears, had funny cold where I have a blocked nose every morning and then thick mucus during the day (corry of tmi), the back of my throat hurts when I swallow, my cheeks ache and often when I try to speak, just a splutter comes out. I thought it was just a cold but its getting on for 2 weeks and its still here....maybe I should go to the drs myself.

We had a lovely week off last week - enjoyed some sun in our new garden (the decking area actually gets a bit too hot for me let alone e&s, new sandpit has kept me entertained!), had a couple of days out and then weekend at family parties. BIL was 30 and actually I had a fab time at ILs at a bbq party. Then following night we left kids with ILs and went to an 18th party on my side of family. OMG I felt old, pale and in a very frumpy outfit compared to the fake tanned, short dress wearing 18 year olds.

Rgee - how is little ben coping with the heat?
PCF - how are you getting on? Is your DH enjoyng his new job?

E&H, LAL and everyone else - hello!

eandh · 02/06/2009 19:24

Lizz - new romney is nice we've doen the railway there from dymchurch and goes through new romney and onto hythe and I love the bar thing! Hows the feet btw?

Vino - mmm think Drs appt sounds a good idea, it couldnt be hayfever could it?

Wilkie - hows the itching?

Rgee - where are you? Hows everything going? Hope P&B are ok

PCF - saw your fb status I will be watching crimewatch now

HAd a manic running around day but got so much done and am now sitting down for the rest of the night (spent all of last night printing team colours individual sports day certificates, 19 graduation certificates (that I have now laminated) wrote to local uspermarkets/farmers asking for some strawberries for teh children to have for sports day and then updating registers and sorting local advertising plus typing up menu for the restaurant I have booked for a Mums night out as they want preordere dfood (only 2 years till I can resign as chairperson )

Lizzzombie · 02/06/2009 19:58

Vino - LOL at the 18th birthday party thing. Welcome to my world! All the girls I work with are 18/19 ish and I feel sooooooo old! They mostly don't realise I am 33 and every now and then I hear them talking about so and so who is 29 and really old etc! And one of the 19 year olds is getting married in the summer!!!! I swear I am the same age as some of their mothers!

Eah - Holy moly do you get paid/hefty nursery discount for doing all that stuff?
We were going to do the Dymchurch railway thing, but it was such a scorching day and DJ was very happy plating with the hose in the garden so we left it.

My sunburn has died down now, but I have big blisters on my toes from my new shoes! Nice.
DJ has heat rash really badly. He says its not itchy, but it looks hideous. Anyone else have this? Is there anything I can do?

DP is on his way back with fish n chips! oink

Have a good evening everyone.

ps. An accquaintance of mine was induced on Saturday night. 3rd baby. 2 weeks over due....UGH, can you imagine being induced on the hottest day of the year, and being 42 weeks pg. My mate due on the 13th is adement her DD3 will be arriving this week as she is so fed up.
Wilkie - the power of positive thinking can be very strong! Make it happen xxx

Wilkiepedia · 03/06/2009 12:45

Hello

Thanks for the thoughts - itching is under control a little more thanks to masses of steroid cream, aqueous cream and antihistamines. Have had two shows and loads of BHs but nothing else. Have another sweep tomorrow at 9am (lovely) so we shall see if that starts anything off.

Lizz - ugh our poor mate, giving birth in this heat not nice!! Can't help on heat rash advice, as long as he's not itchy I would just say cool bath before bed and make sure he drinks plenty.

EAH - you ARE superwoman - or a glutton for punishment, can't decide which!

Vino - PMSL re the 18th birthday party. God, I remember mine. 18 seems SO young now doesn't it - isn't that depressing!! I second what EAH said about hayfever but defo worth getting checked out. Hope you are OK otherwise xx

Reg - how is the gorgeous little man?? And I don't mean your DH...

PCF - aw bless Alex with his first tooth coming out. How grown up! What is the tooth fairy's rate nowadays? Used to be 20p (!!) when I was little as the tooth fairy was unable to carry anything heavier??? (thanks M&D)

Right, actually going out of the house to the pub up the road to meet a friend for some lunch.

eandh · 05/06/2009 05:54

Morning its all so quiet on here

Wilkie/Lizz - not paid to do it and no free sessions but if the commitee/chair don't do things then preschool has to close so needs must and all of that (actually some bits of it I really enjoy and will look good on my CV especially as its voluntary role and I do a wide range of things, am thinking of trying to get a school job once Hattie inreception so this will be good experience)

Not alot else going on, my shoulders are peeling and only 2 weeks till our holiday and 7 weeks till we go to legoland with the laughalot clan

smallone · 05/06/2009 09:38

Hiya, I do check occasionally for a lurk to see how everyones doing, but seeing Wilkie has got the dreaded itch I had to post! Many sympathies, I had it with dd on my legs and it felt like an army of red ants was living under my skin. Glad your creams are helping, I left the bath filled with cool water and would just go and sit in it for a few mins every so often, mostly in the middle of the night to stop the itch long enough that I could go back to sleep. On the plus side, the moment my contractions started it stopped. Good luck.

laughalot · 05/06/2009 11:58
