Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Pic looks fab guys im sure lauren would not have sat there for the pic .

Dragonhart · 24/03/2009 10:25

Pic looks lovely. 2happy- your boys look so big!! Glad you had a great day.

Luke got into the school I wanted so I am chuffed. Only problem is that all the friends I have made through toddler groups are going to a different school so I will be a bit of a billy no mates at the school gates! Hopefully will get the chance to get to know afew mums though.

Still no joy with the bottles. Given up and am trying to concentrate on food atm. She is doing better but it is still slow going.

Wilkie- I have tried afew bottles and like vino, I would have like Rachel to take a tt one and they now do an anti colic one too. But she diagrees! I put a mam teat onto the avent bottles I had hanging around and never used, and that worked too. Mam teats are supposed to be good for bf. What ever you do dont buy any breastflow ones form mothercare. They are rubbish!

We have Ruth's 2y check next week and I am dreading it. I know they will refer her for speach therapy and while I know that if she needs it, we need to get her on the waiting list and get some help, I just dont want the interferance/critisism iyswim. I know it sounds silly. Will be glad when it is over tbh.

I am going to get the contraceptive impant put in my arm on fri. Anyone heard any good/bad things about it? I used to have the injection and that suited me fine but liked the idea of being able to take it out if I needed to and that you dont need to have it changed for 3years. Feeling nervous about it though as they have to put a local in to put it in.

Hope all the illness goes soon. We seem to have a constant cold in our house! Keeps going round.

Oh and hope you all had lovely mother's days. I got a gorgeous card with a pic of a flower on it that luke did all by himself. So proud! Even wrote his name in it! Then I cooked sunday dinner for my mum and had a lovely day. xxx

2happy - I'm loving the pics!! Wow!!

LAL - notice how all the kids are having their pud in the picture? I tried to take it earlier and it was a complete failure. Food was the key to them all sitting down. I'll remember that for future.

My MN view is really odd tonight, all the posts are down the right hand side of my screen.

DH - am sure ruth's speech will pick up when she's ready and if there is something that needs sorting, as you say its better to get on the waiting list now.

Not a lot happened here on mothers day. DH was cream crackered so he got the lie in instead of me, and still looked dead on his feet when he got up. Had lunch at my mums which was nice and then evening on my own as Dh was a footy tournament.

Can't wait to watch the apprentice tomorrow

Reggiee · 24/03/2009 21:56

I've got a dodgy MN view too. All squashed in the corner.

Loved the photo Vino. And the crumble - nom nom.

Dragon great news re L's school. Good luck with R's 2 yr check. There wasn't a 2 yr check as such for P - just had a questionnaire to complete and return .

Busy week ahead here. Am off to Northumberland tomorrow staying with a friend (lock your door 2H just in case ), then heading straight to inlaws on Thurs even / Fri with P, then off to London for a girls trip to the Vitality show on Saturday. Will need to put my feet up next week.

Can't wait for the Apprentice too - got it set to record in case I can't watch it tomorrow!

Reggiee · 24/03/2009 21:57

PS Wilkie how's J?

Lizzzombie · 25/03/2009 07:45

Morning!
Can't read the thread properly so can't post personals proper.
Hello to everyone anyway.
Rgee - Impressed that you are doing both ends of the country in like 4 days! Have a good time.
x

Reggiee · 25/03/2009 09:23

Ah, but Lizz I am cheating. Both trips are without the lo - I'm going to Northumberland to run a work event, then the London trip with my friend is an annual ritual. Both journies I've also blagged cheap first class train tickets .

This thread view better be fixed by the time I return!

Lizzzombie · 25/03/2009 10:12

Nice!
I have a baby free day on Saturday & I intend to have a wonderful day out shopping & generally doing what I WANT TO DO (= being selfish!)

Am so annoyed I've just had my smear test cancelled which was booked for this morning. Its the 3rd time now. (well, 2nd time the nurse has called in sick, one time I forgot) It wouldn't be so bad....but I actually waxed etc in readiness. Very irritating!

Just had lots of baby clothes back from a colleague who borrowed them for her DS. They are so diddy & cute. Almost like dolly clothes.

In other news - DJ slept in his own bed without getting up and running around, for the WHOLE NIGHT! He woke up lots, but I managed to settle him and tuck him back in without any drama. Please God let this be the start of him sleeping though.
In fact, this will make you laugh. He had his 2 year check with the HV on Monday. Who said, "Oh, I assume he sleeps through fine"....yeah, right! So she suggested I give him Cammomile Tea at night time, to aid his sleepiness. Um, yeah, did you not hear me when I said he was a fussy eater, and oh yes, a 2 year old!? Very odd.

Lizzzombie · 25/03/2009 10:40

Ps - just had a call from a courier, and this is arriving later this morning!
Do you reckon I can put it up myself?
Its such a bargain (with staff discount & birthday giftcards, I got it for about £40!!!!) Anyone want to come & play round mine later?

laughalot · 25/03/2009 11:36

Cool lizz iv given lauren a packed lunch and shes on the national express bus to you .

Lizzzombie · 25/03/2009 18:40

I AM GOING BANANAS.
He was really really sleepy, just about to get into bed, when he asked for "Woof" (toy dog thing) I looked everywhere (in our tiny house) for it, going mad looking for it.
Found it behind the f*cking TV.
Went back upstairs to give it to him, and found him standing up on the landing having emptied the entire contents of his cup of milk on the floor.
He is now running around upstairs & throwing random things down the stairs.
I have had enough.
30 mins ago he was practically asleep & now, he's turned into the love child of Little Miss Naughty & Mr Chatterbox.

I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wilkiepedia · 25/03/2009 20:06

Liz - get thee a stairgate on his bedroom door!!!!!!!!!!!

Reg - J loads better thanks, spots all cleared and he was back at nursery today

Went to midwifes today. 2 mins before appointment remembered I needed to do a wee sample, got a bottle from reception, ducked into the loo, hovered over the loo (it was rank) and filled the bottle, lifted it up between my legs, caught it on my trousers, it flipped up and the ENTIRE contents of piss dropped into my knickers and trousers that were round my knees. Oh the humility!! I had to squelch into the packed waiting room, left a wet patch on the chair, have a 20 min appointment with the MW who thought it was hilarious and then go home, get changed and go back to work!!!!!!!

Little man is breech at the moment (am 28.5 weeks) so time to turn. Got to have anti-D next Thurs.

2Happy · 25/03/2009 20:16

OMG Wilkie, that is a leeetle bit hilarious! We get so used to carting changes of clothes around for the LOs, but I don't think that spilling a container of your own piss figures in the usual contingency plans!!

Lizz - hopw he calmed down eventually! Did you get the climbing frame set up?

Reg - you know you're welcome (if you really fancy the hour's trek from Hexham to mine!). Hope the trip goes well.

Vino - not just a John Deere but the much talked about (if you could understand what ds1 was wittering about!) JohnDeereSpikyForkTractor...

DH - good news about Luke's school . Hope the 2yr check goes ok (didn't know they still did them!). You can always cancel the appt if her speech picks up.

dh has got it into his head that I 'need' to trade my car in. I don't. It's perfectly ok, an if we had moeny to throw around I would rather to something to our knackered, falling to bits kitchen that has been missing drawer fronts and doors since we blooming moved in. Why do men have no concept of priorities?? Poor fecker's so busy ATM, though. He was on call all weekend, and is on again tonight and hasn't made it home so far.

~Morning after a week of no computer/internet I am finally back online and have a fully working laptop

Too many personals but Lizz (hugs) so annoying when they do that (and did you set the play thing up??)

Wilkie - sorry for the pun but nearly pmsl at you wee incident (Ellie was breech all the way along but fingers crossed he moves soon any luck for a name for him yet?)

2happy/vino/rgee - love the picture v.cute,

Vino - is the garden growing on you now?

DH - fab news about L's school we find out next Tuesday

Lal - morning

PCF - hows the packing going?

Well the week of no computer/internet has meant that I have sorted so much stuff out filed and shredded loads of paperwork, sold loads of bits in local paper (including dh's car!!) the garden is all done (veg in, fence painted, playhouse painted etc etc) had a massice spring clean (although that was because HAttie hid dh keys and we needed them to sell his car and she posted my purse in the fish tank ) and bagged up loads of stuff to boot fair/charity shop. Also borrowed my Mums sewing machine as we're hoping to decorate dining room soon and cant find curtains I like but have found the perfect material so am thinking of trying to make the curtains

I can't believe I am up and the girls are still in bed

raisingrrrl · 28/03/2009 14:21

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been on much. This 2 kids malarky seems to be catching up with me - that and RL!

We've been trying to get M to take a dummy but so far no success with the TT or Avent ones. She doesn't really need it as she's not a hugely "sucky" baby - it'd just be nice to give her something to keep her quiet while i'm sorting Z out! She is still pretty good at night though, apart from when she's stuffed up in her nose.

One-handed typing doing my head in.

Just watched Ghost Town, it was really good!

Got to go sort washing (joy) - laters!! xx

Wilkiepedia · 28/03/2009 22:29

EAH - yes we have a name but no, am not telling!

Where is everyone???????????????

vinorouge · 28/03/2009 22:38

I am just sitting down after hectic day. Only logged on to check my banking really. Dh away overnight. Worked this morning then had a friend and lo round this afternoon and neighbour been round chatting to me while I did a load of cooking for sylvie for the freezer this evening (only got half of what I planned / bought for done though).

Raisin - hello!

E&H - hi too! Saw on fb you were having a dinner party - hope it went well.

SO who watched the apprentice?????

Wilkiepedia · 28/03/2009 22:39

God Vino you wear me out just reading that!!

Don't forget clocks go forward tonight.

Saw Apprentice - glad that girl went, she had a face like a bulldog/chewing a wasp. The girl that looks like KT Tunstall was a PITA though...

georgeyporgey · 29/03/2009 09:44

ello Girls, LTH here, I thought I'd pop in and say Hi to see how you all are.

Whats been going on then?

How are all the new Jan07 babies and bumps?
Any new bumps I need to knwo about?

Any scandalous gossip?

I have nothing to report, life goes on and I get addicted to FB quizzes.
I did almost have a job. Well I might stil have but its all gone quiet so I'm not sure whats happening.
The boys are all fine and George is FAB(apart from a sicky bug thing yesterday but he seems fine today)
2 yr olds are so bloody cute, aren't they? He's such a funny little bugger and sooooooooooo stubborn.

I'm still on my happy pills and they have changed my life. I'm so glad I finally took the bull by the horns and did something about it. I think actually I might have had depression rather than just horrific PMT because the difference in me is just massive.
The GP said I could stay on them for as long as I needed too so I was very happy about that.

I've skimmed the thread and saw that Lizzz mentioned I popped in, I LOL at "nice eyeshadow" I was wearing a wetsuit, sombreo and peeptoe wellies at the time, she never mention that. hahahaa

And that "happy is offering hugs from me. I'm not sure about that.....I feel violated

So come on girls whats the news???

I'll try and pop back and say hello, now that I've joined again. I won't be using MN liek I used to though....its all too changey for my liking.

georgeyporgey · 29/03/2009 16:38

Holy Moly...talk about give a girl a complex!

Reggiee · 29/03/2009 16:49

LTH!!!!!!!!

(((big bosom hugs))

georgeyporgey · 29/03/2009 19:47

Thanks Reg.

I feel positively shunned by everyone else....

Reggiee · 29/03/2009 21:18

Nay - it's been v quiet on here since, well, since about you left really. Good to hear from you - I've been following your updates every now and again via FB but try to stay away too much from FB for fear of being addicted to yet another website.

My excuse for not MNetting recently is I've been gadding about the country all week. Had a lovely week but nice to have a day and evening in today. Quiet week ahead but am dreading final trip to consultant on Tuesday to talk about my VBAC and birth options. My anaemia is even worse - a result of 8 - whatever that means. I think it should be above 10.

LO is gorgeous - 2 is a really lovely age for me (still holding breathe for hideous tantrums - presume that will come at the same time as her baby brother). Her final teeth have come through the last couple of days (top two - 2 months after the bottom two), which I hope explains why she decided to wake up at 4.30am on Friday .

Apprentice is recorded and I'm watching it tomorrow. Then you can all talk about it .

Eah I am tempted to have a week off the internet. I'd get my life back!

Oh, and Wilkie that pee story absolutely had me rofl. Sorry .

PCF how you doing? When is the move?

laughalot · 30/03/2009 17:28

Lth welcome back . Not alot has happened.

I am pretty shocking at posting these days, I just seem so busy all the time even though im mainly stuck at home. We have been on the hunt for a new car we got let down yesterday with a focus zetec, we are after a brand new one and the man thought we wanted it on finance so the price was around £ 2000 more so dh told them where to shove it. We have now setteled on the new peaugeot 308 in black and will hopefully collect it in 2 days time it is sat in the showroom waiting but dh wants to clear the garage lol.

Eah did you get anymore dumb asses in today ?

Rgee are you saying p dosent throw herself on the floor in temper ? Has she been dragged out of laura ashley on the reins kicking and screaming ? it must just be me who hates two year olds lol. When is bump due how many weeks ? Just thought its grand national again this weekend we need to do a sweepstake.

Wilkie that is mean not telling us bubbas name .

Vino how are the girls ? I watched apprentice I get addicted with it. I wish the other person had gone she was a right old battleaxe.

Rasin like your pics on fb m is getting big already how many weeks is she now ? Dont have much advice on dummies l had the avent ones.

Lizz did dj enjoy his new toy ?? Pics looked good.

Right off for a quick bath as l is already down for the night
