Just found out he hasn't seen a Dr at all. This is a self-diagnosed break

EachPeachPearMum · 23/02/2009 20:00

OMG Jas- lying still for 6 weeks?
Indian hospitals are very good- is he worried their standards won't be good enough?

And then I read 'self-diagnosed'... right... is he a doctor?

Jas · 23/02/2009 20:43

No. He is just a stubborn old fool. He did spend time in a hospital there last year, but only because he was unconscious when he arrived. He would be the same here. It just makes it harder to know what to do (not really sure there is anything we could do tbh) when he is so far away.

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/02/2009 21:52

Well looking on the bright side, at least he won't be lying on your bed/sofa for 6 weeks .

Do you want ds to have some clothes EPPM? I reckon that ds will have grown out of most of his 0-3 and 3-6 month stuff by our meet up (is out of a lot of it already), so you're welcome to a load of those.

Nursery run - will you have help from dh in the mornings, or will everything be down to you? Def try to sort out clothes and bag for dd the night before, and have your change bag good to go at all points. Is the nursery run a walk or a drive?

Have ordered ds' highchair tonight. There's a new pic of him on my profile testing it out in John Lewis today.

Jas · 23/02/2009 22:00

That is NOT your ds! He is supposed to be a teeny tiny baby still

He certainly looks like he likes it.

FIL wouldn't be here, anyway We are still sleeping n the sofa bed, and I won't turf ds out of his bed after the hassles we've had to get him into it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/02/2009 07:54

Happy Birthday little dude.

EachPeachPearMum · 24/02/2009 07:58

Wow csws- he is so big now! I still think he looks like your dh rather than you. His eyes are just gorgeous!

mustrunmore · 24/02/2009 08:05

I was gonna say how cute he is, but it doesnt seem right straight after EPPM's comment

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 08:33

Happy Birthday Flameboy

Ds is back at pre-school today

Frizbe · 24/02/2009 09:21

Happy Birthday Dude! Have a great day guys.

CSWS he's gotten so bit he is gorgeous though (cooo's quietly to self and reminds self not to be broody)

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 10:20

Back from taking ds now and read.

Csws - He looks so grown up. I can't believe he's 19.5weeks, that's about how pg i am, 19+4 today, it's gone so quick.

Jas - at your stubborn FIL.

I had a bit of a panic this morning, i couldn't find the baby's heartbeat on my doppler but just been to try again and found it instantly, phew I've got my scan tomorrow i'm so excited

mustrunmore · 24/02/2009 11:11

omg phoenix, that takes me back.. i was permanently fretting about ds1's heartbeat. But managed to get to about 35 weeks before i worried about ds2

Dh at home this morning, so I took ds1 to school without the pesty ds2 in tow, so I could run as soon as dropped him off; did a slow but lovely 7km Only stopped once for 20 secs to wipe the rain off my glasses

EachPeachPearMum · 24/02/2009 11:17

GL for tomorrow Phoenix! Are you going to find out which gender?

Happy Birthday Dude! Enjoy your gorgeous cake!

mustrunmore · 24/02/2009 12:04

ds2 loves yhe aeroplanr cake! And he thinks your his mum

EachPeachPearMum · 24/02/2009 14:33

So who's having pancakes today?
om nom nom!

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 15:46

Mmm yes we're having pancakes. Ds has had some for the snack at preschool but he keeps asking for them for tea so he'll be having more

Yes we're gonna find out what we're having (if baby cooperates) but we're telling people we haven't because we want to keep it to ourselves iykwim. I'll tell on here though. As far as i know the only RL person who know's me well enough is Trace2 and i'll prob end up telling her anyway lol

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/02/2009 16:14

Phew for telling us Phoenix. The suspense would be too much otherwise! Good luck with it. Do you have any preference?

No pancakes for me due to dairy, but dd and dh had them for breakfast.

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 16:27

Not really this time. With ds i always wanted a boy but since this pg has been so different i've kinda got it in my head that it actually could be a girl (i know it doesn't work like that for everyone) i could be leaning ever ever so slightly to a boy though

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 16:32

I've just sent a complaint email to Channel 4 about Countdown. That new Carol Vorderman woman has been getting on my nerves for a few weeks with her letter pronunciation. She says 's' with an 'ah' on the end, so s-ah and ds is copying her.

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 16:35

I'm not normally a complainer btw but it is really getting on my nerves

Jas · 24/02/2009 18:52

LOL Phoenix. I am going to have to watch countdown now to see what you mean.

Flame - do we get a pic of ds' birthday cake? I hope he enjoyed his day.

My neighbour had a baby boy at the weekend.....she had been tld at her scan that it was a girl! Luckily she isn't upset at all

Jas · 24/02/2009 18:54

Oh, yes ds and dd2 had pancakes for breakfast I'm still not eating proper food

I've had to tell two grown women how to make pancakes today

Flamesparrow · 24/02/2009 19:32

Pic on profile.

Wiped out, will post tomorrow xxx

Flamesparrow · 24/02/2009 19:57

Bath running, have had a mouthful of wine - able to post.

I was more worried about movement than heartbeat - I would have been a nightmare with a doppler though so tis a good thing I never had one. I know I worried a lot more pregnant with Emrys than I ever did B . I think by second time around I knew more about what could go wrong, I had been through friends with things going wrong etc. All unfounded, but too much knowledge is a Very Bad Thing.

yay for finding out sex - I like finding out sexes of other people's babies

Teaching grown women to do pancakes???

Hectic day here - woke and did one small present, then threw the whingy big one at school and took dude to see my mate (who was perfectly safe on Sunday and has an overreacty husband ). She was lovely and baked him a cake for lunch because that is what he wanted

Phoenix · 24/02/2009 20:19

Yes Flame i'm much more paranoid in this pg than i ever was with Lewis. Feeling slight movements now though but i have to be honest and say i really can't remember from last time what the early movements felt like and that's why i haven't felt anything earlier. Some on my ante natal thread have been feeling movement from 12wks.
