WELL DONE ANN! That's exactly what I would have done. [To be exact really i would have thrown the phone across the room shattering it THUS turning it off.]

sambo303 · 23/01/2009 23:07

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 23:08

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 23:09

oops that wasn't for your post about not being funny btw but your post to ann about being on here with us

oopsacoconut · 23/01/2009 23:10

With Scottish grandparents from the wee town of Peebles am I entitled to a Burns night name?

oopsacoconut · 23/01/2009 23:11

That's fine Dizzy - I am used to being laughed at -

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 23:12

oops Scotland is the origin of the whole world so technically all entitled to one

then again, as Queen of Scots, I am granting you one by Royal Permission so carry on

RotterMcPotter · 23/01/2009 23:13

Thanks for the oatcake Sambo, might soak up a bit of booze then I'd really better go to bed. Please please let DS sleep til at least 4am again tonight.

Yay that we are all having a virtual Friday night social via the power of mumsnet , and no need to queue for a taxi after.

oopsacoconutflavouredhaggis · 23/01/2009 23:16

och ai tis me

sleekitsambo303 · 23/01/2009 23:16

Yes, I'd love a repeat of last night's sleep pattern. Think it's unlikely as ds has required feeding at 9.30 and 10.30 so far here's hoping...

sleekitsambo303 · 23/01/2009 23:18

mmm, the exotic hula haggis

RotterMcPotter · 23/01/2009 23:18

How can we be over 160 messages already, this thread is less than 13 hours old

Loving all the new names!

oopsacoconutflavouredhaggis · 23/01/2009 23:21

I am hoping that by being on here and withholding DD's dream feed she will sleep longer once she has had it.

Rotter when we were a antenatal thread we occasionally went though a thread in 5 days

RotterMcPotter · 23/01/2009 23:21

OK I really need to go to bed now, to sleep on my sadly a bit too firm new mattress.

Looking forward to porridge in the morning but will I be shot for

  • having loads of sugar on mine
  • letting DD have jam on hers?

We have had it every day this week, it's yummy.

Night all

oopsacoconutflavouredhaggis · 23/01/2009 23:24

NIght all from here too

Tomorrow our porridge will be made with cream and have brown sugar and butter on it - mmmmmmm. It is a Saturday treat a change from regular porridge with maple syrup.

sleekitsambo303 · 23/01/2009 23:25

night mcpotter - ps suggest you get a mattress topper thingy which adds a layer of softness (and luxury) here

sleekitsambo303 · 23/01/2009 23:26

good night oops

off to bed myself now, and MY porridge will be made with water and seasoned lightly with salt

Miamla · 24/01/2009 00:32

aw! i've finally caught up and you've all gone to bed

AnnVan · 24/01/2009 02:14

Hi all. I went to tesco to buy booze and when I got back DP was back. had him in floods of tears about how much he's having to sacrifice for work etc. Felt bad for him, but at same time thought 'now you finally know how I feel about MY job'. still didn't really explain why he didn't call and let me know he was going to be later than planned. Still I felt sorry for him. now going to pour some more vodka.

sleekitsambo303 · 24/01/2009 07:17

crikey ann hope you ok this morning

feel like a wee dram myself this morning - have I been to bed? dunno, was up EVERY HOUR

righto, the porridge is bubbing away, we have cream, brown sugar, homemade strawberry jam and prunes and there's butteries for afters

longwayfromhome · 24/01/2009 07:55

morning all. off back to the other side of the world later today. a bit sad, but looking forward to getting back to a bit of routine too.

anyway, I bought no cry sleep solution and liked the bits where she said that feeding your baby at night is not a negative sleep association, just something you might like to be different.

just hope our luggage all gets on the plane ...

ds doing an almighty poo as I type

longwayfromhome · 24/01/2009 07:56

and my mum is really sad too. must sort out my international driving licence before we go.

poppysocks · 24/01/2009 08:47

Thanks for the lovely breakfast spread sambo. Will have to add dry toast to the buffet for DD! as this is house of vom. Having made an effort to get to bed early last night, 45 mins in there was a loud cry from DD1 and we rushed in to find her caked in sick. And so the night truly began... Poor thing was up all night . DD2 famished too half way through the night. DH stepped up to the plate and sat with DD1 all night and now sleeping it off. Suspect I won't ever get around to it.

poppysocks · 24/01/2009 08:49

Bon voyage longway. 'See' you on the other side!
