Hi all,

Was lovely to meet everyone and their beautiful babes, but feel rather sad now that my day out had to end so stressfully. For those who weren't there, Joe had a full on meltdown - he just can't cope with crowded, noisy situations, I don't think Am especially embarrassed that I had to just bugger off without saying goodbye or grabbing CC on the way, but he was so upset and screamed all the way to Kings X and all the time I was waiting for my train.

Of course now we are home he is happy as larry, lying on the sofa playing with his feet and grinning his head off like nothing ever happened whereas I can still feel the upset rampaging around my body. Anyway, apologies to all and hopefully we'll do better next time.

70's BOUDOIR!?!?!??! how very dare you!!!!!
cheek of some people having no taste

Maria sorry to hear you couldn't go - am sure this chatty lot will meet up again soon

should I just have bought 30 chaise lounges? I thought the lovely 1.5 seats would be good for feeding and that corner couch looked big enough for us all when we 'need' it

Sausageandmash · 27/01/2009 17:29

?Yes maria, sorry it did not work out this time. Cyteen, sorry that joe decided he had had enough, and in such spectacular fashion. Glad all is chilled now (with him - i hope you destress, pronto)

alittlebitshy · 27/01/2009 17:30

cyteen glad you got home safe. I was worried.

If it's any help - my ds was awful last time he was in a situation like today in Nov when he was 3.5 months) - but today he liked it apart from not being able to sleep until i walked him outside in buggy...

they do get used to it.

Hello all, made it safely all the way back to Yorkshire, disappointed not to have time for afters so M&S sticky toffee pudding after tea instead, yum.

Have had such a lovely day, everyone so friendly and nice, and I agree that all the babies were adorable. Sorry to hear Joe went into meltdown Cyteen, glad to hear he's ok now though.

Are you all coming up our way then next time?

cyteen · 27/01/2009 17:43

thanks girls, am still though. he so rarely wigs out like that (honest!) - i was actually starting to seriously worry that something might be wrong with him at St Pancras, he was inconsolable.

AnnVan · 27/01/2009 17:58

Hi everyone. Indeed -all ladies and babies were very lovely. No one even commented on my untamed eyebrows

cyteen no need to poor boy had obviously had as much as he could take.

Sorry I didn't really get to talk to rotter as we were at opposite ends of the table.

Cyteen, really sorry to hear Joe went into meltdown... that's 6 month-old babies for you, isn't it. My own DS does the same kind of thing, he just can't handle situations with loads of people very well. I think some kids just get overtired / overstimulated easier than others.

dizzydixies · 27/01/2009 18:15

its so NOT 70s boudoir - its safari chic!

oh oh CC texted me she's fine and on her way home although possibly not on the train she was meant for!!

so is everyone checking back in - or at least three rings - I'll worry you know

I do take it everyone else's mother made them ring 3 times to check in when you arrived home, am not making myself out to be a complete loon here am I

although my mother used to pick it up before 3 rings were over and blether on for ages

rotterpotter · 27/01/2009 18:50

Flipping heck all I've done is sit down today but I'm totally knackered. Have leg ache like I walked to London

Hope everyone is home safe now. Sorry you didn't make it Maria, I'm sure there'll be another!

I missed chatting to you too Ann, was a leetle bit overwhelming all those new faces. Will give us something to look forward to.

Non-meetup girls, you have done a good job, it looks lovely in here. Wanna come round and do my house now? Pleeeease!

CaptainCaveman · 27/01/2009 18:51

Ahh, home safe and sound!

Missed the ruddy train, although the bloody thing was sat there looking at me for a full 3 mins before it pulled off! Lovely lovley lovely East Mids train manager - she sent the people in front of me away to buy new tickets. She saw me with Oliver, the buggy etc and whispered "you can get on this train and change at Long Eaton" For no extra charge! . She also helped me on and off the train, plus found the time for the connecting train I would need. What a star.

cyteen I'm sorry you had to leave early, hope you're feeling ok now? Poor little Joe, and poor you too! Thank you for chatting to me all the way down on the train - I thoroughly enjoyed yours and Joe's company . I hope the real reason you ran away wasn't me!!!

Ladies you are all marvellous and FPGs to boot. I didn't feel at all uncomfortable to say we were all sort of strangers. Thank you for your company one and all!

Missed those of you who couldn't make it. I think between us we should have a full set of photos!

CaptainCaveman · 27/01/2009 18:53

ali8 I'm sorry I missed chatting to you. The whole time went far far too quick!

cyteen · 27/01/2009 18:55

oh how brilliant that you got a human EMT staff member CC no recourse to fucksticks for you then!

i am feeling better, cheers - DP has come home with wine and good news (second interview, yay).

Maria2007 · 27/01/2009 19:18

Great about the second interview Cyteen...

Sausageandmash · 27/01/2009 19:20
