Kev don't you be coming round here bringing the tone down.

will find some comfy cushions to add...

dd won't stop crying , not hungry, not windy, not tired... think she is just missing the normal hecticness. Apparently I am not loud enough company for her...

ataraxis · 27/01/2009 12:09

cuppa anyone? (btw I make rubbish builders tea, I can only make sophisticated, not stewed stuff)

ataraxis · 27/01/2009 12:10

webcams! then we can meet up anyway although more likely to have to put on a vc arrangement the number of people there are...

dizzydixies · 27/01/2009 12:11

sausage and apple casserole

150 ml apple juice
450g sausages
1 large red onion chopped
400g tinned chopped tomatoes
500g tinned new potatoes
2 medium cooking apples 9peeled & chopped)
dried sage

grill sausages
cook onions in pan
add toms/apples/sage/apple juice to pan, bring to boil then add sausages & potatoes
season
reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes

YUM!!

dizzydixies · 27/01/2009 12:12

oh good god no, webcams are the work of the devil - I hate them as it lets my weight obsessed Aunt in Spain use Skype as a weapon against me [meep]

PetitFilou1 · 27/01/2009 12:17

Can I just say re the mum who has had octuplets and is planning to bf them all. D'ya think she has any idea how hard that will be? Good luck to her though and glad it isn't me.

Loving the decorating but steady on TS with that whip !!

dizzydixies · 27/01/2009 12:17

ataraxis we could sort our your wardrobe just now if you like!

TwilightSurfer · 27/01/2009 12:18

fireplace is ventless so should be safe under the tent. although now that i think about it {{twilight slowly turns around}}... i'm starting to notice an arabian nights theme of sorts happening here. did we mean to do that or did it just happen?

TwilightSurfer · 27/01/2009 12:20

PF there's NO WAY she'll be able to EXCLUSIVELY BF but I can see her doing some. Kate Gosslin thought she would do it with 6 but ended up giving most of her PUMPED BM to the sicklier of the 6. She said it was hard on her at first but then realized it was for the best.

dizzydixies · 27/01/2009 12:29

6 boys and 2 girls

I can hardly cope with 3 girls and there are years inbetween mine

Steaknife · 27/01/2009 12:34

Soft furnishings in hand, I've taken an executive decision and gone of patchwork in jewel colours to go with purple, red and gold of the walls.

Patchwork also good for hiding stains from babies

Off for walk with la midget now, back later and will bring over quilts when my sweatshop ladies have finished.

La midget almost rolling over - I'd say about a 1/4 way there. 5 months old on Friday.

Steaknife · 27/01/2009 12:35

for patchwork not of patchwork.

dizzydixies · 27/01/2009 12:35

enjoy your walk

Dylan awake now so am going to go and lift her before time to sort out the rest of my day [blush

ataraxis · 27/01/2009 12:41

ataraxis · 27/01/2009 12:42

Hi girls....

Anyway. Back to the topic at hand. Glad to return to the thread & find it nice & clean. I'm really disappointed because I didn't get to go to the big meeting today I prepared Linos' lunch, expressed milk to take in a bottle, had a shower, got dressed, & then made the vital mistake of entering the living room & starting a discussion about a bit of a sensitive topic with DP. What do you know, within half an hour we had entered into a heated discussion (understatement) meaning that I then couldn't cope with going out & meeting new people, although I was really keen to go....

Oh, I do hope there's a meeting sometime soon here in London (even a smaller one?) I'll try to keep up with the thread, in any case, in the hope that next time there's a meeting I'll be a bit more familiar / comfortable with everyone, & will go to the meeting regardless of bickering with DP.

Really sorry everyone for not coming (I texted Pertelote about it)... Hopefully there'll soon be a next time? Hope you all had a fantastic time (I'm sure you did).

pertelote · 27/01/2009 16:32

Am I the first one home?

Ladies not-of-London, we MISSED you. Fabulous decorating btw, thanks

Maria, sorry you couldn't make it in the end. As you say, hopefully next time.

Everyone is lovely, of course - you don't need me to tell you that, do you?! 14 fabulous mums, 14 adorable babies - oh that is immodest but YKWIM. Can recommend Giraffe to anyone - the food was great and (most of) the staff wonderful - one waitress in particular clearly loved babies and was having the best shift of her life . Thank you all for coming, some of you a very long way! Hope all trains flights etc worked smoothly and you all get home stress-free. Next time in the frozen north, yes?!

Maria2007 · 27/01/2009 16:34

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh am now ....such a pity I couldn't come

alittlebitshy · 27/01/2009 16:42

Glad it went well-we've been thinking of you all today. Sorry it didn't work out this time Maria. I hope things are on their way to mended with DP.

There are aliens tickling my heels ...
DS is in one of his particularly otherworldly moods today and when they 'did art' in school and he had to take his jumper off, he started to strip. . Luckily he thought it was hilarious that everyone was pointing and laughing. I don't think he got very far ...
Must go.

Sibh · 27/01/2009 16:52

That was meant to be a grin not a wink.
Winking at your small son stripping is v. bad ... [mortified emoticon]

Ooh a vote for a couple of chaise longues, so long as it doesn't throw the symmetry out, I am very partial t o a good chaise longue! Sorry, doing this message one-handed hence rubbish spelling. Had a ball today - was lovely to meet everyone and I second Pertelote - we have an exceediungly good looking bunch of children! (not to say good looking mothers!)
