Morning all.

Especially LG&T and India.

I will be requiring lengthy cuddles.

I shall be singing Hush Little Baby for the duration.

Joe, it's because I listened to music as a child y'see.

Girls Aloud? Really? I was chatting to a cake and tea lady the other day and she met Girls Aloud and the skinny Newcastle one with the teeth and propensity to hit toilet attendants was allegedly shaking the entire time and could barely stand. That's all the sleb gossip I know. Said tea and cake lady also asked for an autograph and was physically pushed out of the way by GA management and told to know her place. Allegedly.

Oh no - the 34 pairs didn't include his cycling kit (I dread to think what is housed in the four massive holdalls he has in the garage). This was just everyday shoes - mostly blardy expensive Oliver Sweeney shoes. No wonder I have to go to Asda for mine

DH has a bet on that Lance will become US President within the next 40 years .... such is his devotion

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 15:50

Now that is GOOD goss Nim. Will alert Scoot.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/01/2009 15:52

Nim, forgot to say, yes big celebrations here last night. Kayole, the tiny village in Western Kenya renamed its primary school Obama Primary School and the influx of journos has boosted it's local economy. Sadly it being in the bush meant little or no power, meaning that when they cut to Karen Allen showing how the village was celebrating you could see bugger all. I had a little weep though at the momentousness of it all.

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 15:52

State Governor of California TSM I think. Only job requirement is ability to lift heavy things and look fit.

DH has cycling and running shoes x100. He has a pair of work boots otherwise and some slippers. When I met him he owned 2 t-shirts, a shirt, a pair of trousers, 5 pairs of boxer shorts, 2 pairs of socks and a jumper. No coat.

I saw Karen Allen on the news covering it. It looked ridiculously momentous and exciting for them all. I weeped a wee bit too. And I love Aretha Franklin so did a wee jig when she popped up and had a sing song.

She stole the show with her hat. Fantabulous. But what was with that song, she was singing the National Anthem with the wrong words.

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 16:00

Yes - what a hat ! I had a bit of a blub yesterday as well [sentimental old fool emoticon]

SKYTVADDICT · 21/01/2009 16:13

I went to see NKOTB with my neice who must be your age PJ. I was definitely old then! TMAM I am more of a wham fan too!

I feel like my days are full of nappy changing and feeding all repeated over and over again and I am drowning in it! Actually that sounds quite negative but I don't think I am that bad its just DD2 is still off school so apart from short walks we are a bit housebound.

You have all been very chatty today and I have struggled to catch up.

I would like to go to CP on the saturday but not sure what DP plans are as he sometimes works sat am. Don't have the girls that weekend so it may be just me and boys.

I have to book a day at Eden Hall day spa which DP bought me for my 40th in December 2007 (I had to extend the gift voucher date due to being PG and b/f). It runs out end of Feb so really must get it sorted as it cost him £140! Think I will really enjoy it but am at the stage of it being easier to stay at home with the boys rather than explain to DP how to look after them all day (me a control freak! !!!)

charleymouse · 21/01/2009 16:14

I beg of you I only popped to the bank and three pages, three pages to catch up on, how am I supposed to hold this job down and keep up with you lot?

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 16:15

I'm 32 in June Sky.

A spa sounds like just what you need. And we would love to see you at CP.

I'm getting really excited now!

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 16:16

Sky, meant to ask how dd was? Cute fb pics btw, had a nose round. DS1 seems to like DS2, they always look so cute together.

Charley, don't need to read back. It's all bikes and PJ's love of gay men.

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 16:17

I was a Wham girl as well..... although my first wall posters were...... The Kids from Fame

I quite liked NKOTB but I can't get excited about them now.... Take That on the other hand......

I'm off to see the Killers next month as well - looking forward to that

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/01/2009 16:19

Oooooo yes a spa day, how lovely. Go with a friend and leave minimal instructions for dp. He will cope, probably decamp to his mums like they all do.

Joe'schick, I got thread confusion sorry.

You managed to pop to the bank in 3 pages, charley, wow how fast are you!

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 16:20

Tilly - you'd love my friends, whenever we do karaoke, Starmaker is an absolute must for them.

TMAM - don't worry, I wasn't name changing for any sinister reasons.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/01/2009 16:21

I am a recent Killers convert - dd is now also a big fan, she knows all the words to most of Sam's Town now.

The Kids from Fame, TSM, how much did you want to be one of them? Which one??

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 16:36

Oooh - I wanted to look like Julie (Lori Singer) and sing and dance like Coco and I fancied Bruno

Starmaker - class !

DD bounces around Mr Brightside but her most enthusiastic reponse is to Hip Hop/RnB type stuff

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 16:40

She's very cool Tilly! She would obviously scorn at Lexie singing Hangin' Tough then. Although Lady Gaga and Ne-Yo are on the new album, if that helps.

I love it when they dance about. So cute.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/01/2009 16:45

I always thought Bruno slightly dippy. Leroy now he had a pair of legwarmers and a half.

elkiedee · 21/01/2009 16:51

I watched Brookside for years, then kicked the habit one weekend when I was already feeling depressed and the omnibus edition made me feel terrible. It staggered on for a few years after that - our TV service includes an archive of programmes with the very first and very last episodes and I found the last one hard to follow. LOL at Pink looking like Jacqui though.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 16:53

I don't look like Jacqui. But I do have a scouse tendency to stick my chin out when I'm in a mood. DH calls it 'bumping my gums'. With head titled to side and hands on hips.

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 16:55

A question for our Scouse resident expert - What does Tilly Mint mean ??

Tilly is a really cool urban chick - then spoils all her street cred by singing the Bing Bong song from Peppa Pig

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 16:56

TMAM - I agree Bruno was a bit dippy - I think it was the hair..... my very first crush was Leo Sayer FFS !

JamInMyWellies · 21/01/2009 17:32

good god i only went to the supermarket - by the way harrowing exp with A's haterd for shopping and with a baby who decided he wanted to feed the second we walked through the doors.

NKOTB are pants. runs away from mad scouser

Nim I am curious well nosy what sort of expectations did i meet up to.

Wham ooh the lovely George although noone will ever live up to TT.

Kids from fame loved it did anyone see JLC do the reunion classic telly.

Tilly my BIL isd a bike fan refuses to lock his bikes in the garage as they are uber expensive so my poor sis has them cluttering up the kitchen.
