Morning all.

Especially LG&T and India.

I will be requiring lengthy cuddles.

I shall be singing Hush Little Baby for the duration.

I missed the JLC thing - was gutted but I'd watched a few (The A Team and a couple of others) and they were a bit disappointing insofar as no one turned up. I hear that he had more success with the Fame one though ...

DH has his bike's separately insured at a ridiculous cost (about 30% extra on top of normal buildings and contents). The garage is being pulled down next month though and I have been informed that the bikes (all 5 of them) have to "live" in the house whilst its being done .

MKG · 21/01/2009 18:06

"I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learn how to fly ; Remember . . Remember . . Remember"

PJ--I hate to tell you that Joey is old now and he can't hit those high notes in "Please don't go Girl" anymore.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/01/2009 18:31

'...remember my name, FAME'

Thanks for the recipes TSM, I shall go for the chicken and chorizo.

MKG, how does it feel today? Any different?

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/01/2009 18:35

Jam, I took J to the supermarket yesterday for the first time in months, I only needed some toilet paper and deodorant, but he escaped from the car-trolley and started taking all the lids off the deodorants. He had a sit down protest then nearly had a tantrum, screamed his head off when any of the checkout people looked at him, emptied the contents out of my bag whilst I was paying and then didn't want to get out of the lift at the bottom. How do you manage all of you?

MKG · 21/01/2009 18:37

Let me think: I'm still poor, in a sucky job, in a house I can't seem to sell.

Nope so far Obama, everything is exactly the same as Dubya.

I spoke to the Diabetes nurse today because my numbers have been very low since I started testing. Basically she gave me the green light to eat more of wanted I wanted and to be less strict with the diet, as my body is obviously producing enough insulin, and just make sure they don't go to high. Yeah!!!

I asked her why I got a diagnosis of GD if my body is obviously producing enough insulin, and she told me to bring it up with the midwife.

Evening Ladies,

I am going to have to go AWOL from MN for a bit as i have found out that someone i know has been snooping on me and reporting back to a girl that works for dh's company. I have no idea why she is doing this as she has no kids and has no need to be on MN. I am heartbroken that my 'privacy' has been taken away like this and gutted that i cant chat to you all on here any longer.

I actually have tears in my eyes as i am typing this!

I have no idea why she is doing this as i havent done anything to either of them, in fact they are the ones that cause me grief.

I will stay in contact with those on fb and MSN and those of you that i have numbers for.

I will miss you all, thanks for everything.

Much love AM xx

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 19:21

AM . And if said girly is reading this then bugger off you weasly harridan. And I never call people names. How terrible. I will stay in touch with you on fb and perhaps I'll even manage to catch you on MSN at some point. See you next month I hope.

Can I ask a tmi question while I'm here? DD constipated (don't know why, her diet's fine but has been poorly so don't know if her tummy's upset- teething too). Thing is she's torn herself with the straining and has bled a wee bit. I'm going to get some dried apricots, raspberries, grapes, orange juice etc to clear it up but do I need to do anything about the tear? It's only little.

MKG · 21/01/2009 19:33

Am-How terribly petty and stupid of someone! I'd go to your dh's job and punch that stupid bitch in the face.

Nim- Cruz does that all the time. I find a little A&D ointment works well, but it will heal up fine on it's own.

fourlittlefeet · 21/01/2009 19:35

oh god, haven't a bleedin hope of keeping up with this thread! made DP make some scones from another book. TYG if I do the Nigella ones, I want them to be perfect so trex it is (had never heard of trex until today)!

L is being -a- -little- -tinker- absolutely gorgeous and not at all exhausting with H .

Faints at effort of reading 4 pages of mumsnet that weren't about pregnancy, birth or breastfeeding. Will be back when I have more stamina.

JamInMyWellies · 21/01/2009 19:35

AM am so very on your behalf. Leave it for a bit then namechange and come back. xx

Nim, sound like an anal fissure give her lactulose for a few days to soften her poo which should allow the fissure to heal. Some people are just prone to them not much more you can do am afraid.

TMAM I feel your pain.

MKG thats great news about your GD.

Elkie you cant have long to go now.

Fish & chip night tonight its our treat of the wk, sad I know but thats how exciting my life is right now.

HaggisGaloreInMyWellies · 21/01/2009 19:58

Name change for forthcoming Burns night, also there is a rumor floating around the smileys will be wearing kilts

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 19:59

Can I get lactulose otc? Never had any problems with her in that department but she's been ill so think it's buggered up her system a bit.

Jam, fish and chips make me excited too. Lovely. I'll have cod and chips with mushy peas please. What I meant by you being like I expected is you look, act and sound exactly how I anticipated you would. And oh boy do you sound nice . I just love your accent. I pictured you as quite shy, softly spoken and lovely. And, hey presto, you were.

It's coming from the middle of nowhere, I only have books as a basis for reference so I expected London to look like a Dickens novel and it didn't. LG&T is nothing like Ma Larkin, TYG doesn't say 'ah bejaysus' every 5 minutes or fold her arms under her ample breasts whilst chastising her massive brood of Catholically conceived children. AM didn't have a filofax. Actually TMAM is a lot like I expected but I was also rather bowled over by how pretty she is (hadn't seen photos of her at this point) and she is really very pretty indeed. Not that I expected her to be fugly but I didn't realise I'd stare at her in amazement.

See scousers I have two frames of reference. One, my childhood best friend who I adored. Two, Brookside. So PJ I will either love or have to run away from her lesbian kisses/desire to bury me under a patio/tracksuit.

MKG · 21/01/2009 20:03

OH what a fun game, what character am I?

HaggisGaloreInMyWellies · 21/01/2009 20:09

yes you can get it OTC.

Bless you am not that quiet once you get to know me in RL am a bit if a fishwife.

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 20:18

Americans are all very chipper and say things like 'talk to the hand' and 'I'm so over this'. You're perky and bouncy, you sit round a big dinner table and have a large front yard.

Honestly, personality wise I think of you as like a character out of a book (and tv adaptation atm). Lark Rise to Candleford. There's a woman who is married to a quite opinionated and 'blokey' man. He is stubborn and pushy and expects to be the man of the house. She lets him think all of the above quietly, puts him in his place when necessary and ignores him till he's banged some nails or built a wall to get the stress out. She is quite sassy and is actually fully in charge. She handles him very well indeed and is a smart woman. And they love each other enormously. You, MKG, are her. She's got lots of children too.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 20:26

Oi MKG - he hit them just fine on Friday!

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 20:31

Nim - What about me ? What about me ?

AM - What a bitch ! If you're reading - get a life you nasty bag

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 20:42

TSM, apart from assuming that you have great taste in books (the name scout), I think you're the opposite of me. You remind me of my old English teacher who was quite a formidable woman. Ergo, you're bubbly, loud, confident, good at talking to other women, a wee bit flirty, sure of your opinions and successful. When I think of you I picture you on a night out with lots of people, drink in one hand, dancing, laughing and being quite feisty. I also think that you probably make a very good and reliable friend that listens well. I also think you're Kate Winslet, for no apparent reason, but I picture her when I think of you. Same as LG&T is Ma Larkin. You're Kate, but a young Kate, not like she is now.

elkiedee · 21/01/2009 20:42

Aaaarrgh sorry to hear about your problems AM

I have 5 days to go until my due date plus however long they let me have until induction is what I'm thinking. So perhaps 15 days (feeling very pessimistic about prospect of going into labour naturally). And I'm just feeling so apathetic in the meantime. Though D and I have been invited to a 2nd birthday party on Sunday and there's an NCT meetup on Monday afternoon (my due date). Am wondering about trying to take D to the local toddler group tomorrow (taking him out of CM's to do so) but worrying about the time being tight as groups there turn you away once they've reached capacity (the room isn't that big) and it might be lunch/nap time.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 20:47

Do me nim

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 20:51

Oh you already did. You'll love me, honest. I'm not as hyper as I sound. Or as scouse.

NimChimpsky · 21/01/2009 20:53

Nope, I didn't do you. I don't imagine you as at all like my childhood friend (she was a trilingual vicar's daughter) or like somebody off Brookside really. Nope, my mental image of you is quite different.

90210 programme on at 9 o' clock but presume you know that.

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 21/01/2009 20:55

Blimey - I'll take Kate Winslet - young or old thank you very much . I reckon the rest is not too far off - not sure about feisty (bossy maybe and a teeny bit bitchy sometimes - but I'm rubbish at confrontation) and I suppose successful depends on your definition of it. I'm happy - so that's successful enough for me

Elkie - not long to go (even worst case scenario). How exciting - another baby

SKYTVADDICT · 21/01/2009 20:55

AM - what a horrid person. Keep in touch x

I am pmsl at NIMs ideas of what people are like, they are so close to what I would think as well.

wonder what she thinks I am like?

Probably a very rural old mother who lives in a shoe (box) with two many children and I don't know what to do. Or is that just how I feel?

NIM- the boys do get on really well together and C loves L to bits. Just hope it lasts!

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 20:56

Okay now you HAVE to expand on that!
