Morning all.

Especially LG&T and India.

I will be requiring lengthy cuddles.

I shall be singing Hush Little Baby for the duration.

CLIQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 11:22

?

Anyway, glad you've all enjoyed your snow filled days, L had a whale of a time in it last night, throwing snowballs at dh. He's such a boy though, he throws them so hard and tries to get your face and things. One went right down the front of my coat at one point!

We've had a lovely weekend. Met up with the lovely suwoo for shopping and lunch at the Trafford Centre on Saturday, and went to buy the floor for my conservatory on Sunday.

L is such a diva though. She tantrums at the slightest thing. Oh, and she's in her own bed now too. Although it's at the side of ours...

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 11:33

Well done on getting L in her bed - doesnt matter on the location of it!

J was at his Nanny's most of yesterday and spent about 5hrs outside with MIL's husband and my BIL building an Igloo!! It was big enough for Jack to get right inside

Havent been out in it yet due to being so feeble!

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 12:37

Elkiee has had her baby!
10lbs Connor!

Congratulations x

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 12:54

Good Lord. How do you always find these things out??

Congrats Elkie!!!

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 13:01

Magic powers!

ShowOfHands · 03/02/2009 13:07

10lbs? Of baby? I take off my straw hat to you lady. Can't wait to hear all about it. Well done.

ShowOfHands · 03/02/2009 13:08

pj, you need to spend more time on antenatal

Tillyscoutsmum · 03/02/2009 13:09

Congratulations Elkie and welcome to the world "little" Connor

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 13:12

That is a HUGE baby given that Elkiee is quite petite

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 13:14

SOH - If I was pregnant I would. I'm not. So I don't.

ShowOfHands · 03/02/2009 13:31

I know. I was making a joke about AM lurking on antenatal.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 13:31

I seeeee.

SKYTVADDICT · 03/02/2009 13:34

Wow, congratulations Elkie

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well AM and to hear about the prospect of redundancy Jam. Fingers crossed for your DH.

DP only grits every three weeks and isn't on this week, finished on Sunday when he was out all night.

Just came on to catch up and turned my back on the boys only to turn back round and find C trying to feed L off a spoon - luckily nothing on it but shoved down his throat a bit aaaargh!

DDs both have a snow day today. DD2 been out playing most of it and DD1 on the computer so i'm having to jump on while she isn't! As it has all turned to ice and is disappearing in the sunshine I think it won't last too long now.

Better go and retrive the spoon !

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 14:02

Actually i saw it when i looked at threads in the last 15mins! No lurking here

Themasterandmargaritas · 03/02/2009 14:50

Well done Elkie, but at 10lbs! Karibu Sana baby Connor.

Have you perked up a bit now April?

Just to feel like I we haven't missed out we are donning hats coats gloves and scarfs and going out into the garden to make mudmen.

Of course I'm not really doing that, that would just be very silly.

We have much more pressing matters to attend to here, the fact that there is NO petrol in town and I am on empty. Dh is upcountry with the diesel beast and I have the petrol car here, but no petrol. Can you imagine, I had to walk to school today to pick up dd, WALK fgs, noone does that voluntarily here, not unless it is for a strict exercise regime and certainly not in the afternoons and certainly not with the dog also. I became a cult playground figure for a fleeting moment. Actually dd and I quite enjoyed it so I think we may do it again

Themasterandmargaritas · 03/02/2009 14:51

scarves naturally, lordy it's been so long...

SKYTVADDICT · 03/02/2009 15:18

I'm feeling like a real scummy mummy now.

DD1 just brought 3 friends home for a drink as she is out playing (or whatever 13 year olds girls do in the park when there are boys around!).

We had a tesco delivery this morning and it is only half put away and I have done no washing up today! DD1 also made eves pudding this morning and none of that is washed up either and we only have a very tiny kitchen. God knows what they must have thought. Luckily they didn't go upstairs too . You have to bare in mind that DD1 goes to a grammar school and most of her friends are very well to do with large houses (chip on my shoulder? Who me?). DD2s PJs are in the middle of the lounge, as are Cs dirty wellies , and C hasn't eaten in his high chair today but has been trailing bits around the lounge floor - are you getting the picture? Something out of how clean is your house!!

I suppose I could have cleaned up a bit by the time I typed this but hey ho they have gone now

SKYTVADDICT · 03/02/2009 16:16

Just realised why I feel so sorry for myself - PMS - haven't had it for about 3 years as haven't had many AFs! Very bad mood, shouting a lot and feeling of not coping. Also diet not going well as need cake and chocolate! Is there anything I can take?

Haven't done much yet either - been on Cbeebies website with C while L is asleep and now have Hugo Monkey's Funky Jungle Conga as a ringtone on my phone .

Themasterandmargaritas · 03/02/2009 16:29

Just eat the cake and chocolate. You can't fight it. Start the diet next week.

largeginandtonic · 03/02/2009 19:13

Ooooh congrats Elkie!!

Jam have everything crossed for you.

SOH am packing my bags to take over your house, will all 7 fit?

I had the twins and dc#4 home from school today, dd had togo though It has been chaos, the health visitor came at 10 and i had to hoover and tidy before she arrived. The girl is 10lb 2oz!!! A friend asked me tohave her ds as he was a snow day, who would notice one more...

Picked dh up at 1130,lunch then take dc#5 to playscool then i had 3 friends with children over for coffee withvarious children. All good fun. It was like a creche.

TYG i have the new MN toddler book and you are in it! They have you giving a ski holiday tip

Master what the hell doyou do with no fuel! Willit be back in stock soon? Have the playground fishwives forgiven your dd precious comments yet

largeginandtonic · 03/02/2009 19:15

Yes Sky eat the chocolate. Thank you so much for the gorgeous baby pinkcardy for Indie, it is sooo sweet and snuggly

twelveyeargap · 03/02/2009 20:42

Must have been to do with the Esprit holiday we did. (Although we did summer).

DD's school has this posted on their website.
"Having inspected the school site this afternoon, we still have some concerns for the safety of students and staff because of the snow and ice. There will be a further inspection early tomorrow morning (Wednesday) after which a decision will be made about whether to open the school or not. This decision will be posted on the website around 7.00 a.m."

FFS. Don't they have caretakers to grit the pathways?

MKG · 03/02/2009 21:10

Congrats to Elkie!!! Crossing my legs at the thought of 10 pounds.

LG&T--how do you do it with having so many kids in your house. Right now I can barely stand mine in my house.

Did you ladies read that the woman who had the octuplets has six kids ages 2-7. That means she has 14 children under the age of 8.

Is she your long lost cousing LG&T?

Themasterandmargaritas · 04/02/2009 07:14

I can't get over the fuss made in the UK over a bit of snow! Does Chicago stop when it snows? No. Or Moscow? What a bunch of wooses.

Blimey LG&T, you do all that, without an ayah too. Not only have we no fuel but we have had no washing machine for 3 weeks. It blew up. The man is (allegedly) coming with the spare part today but I am not expecting miracles. I rushed out last night at 6, when a friend texted me to say she had found some petrol. I managed to fill up So there is no 'petrol' day off school for my dc today.

Jam I've been thinking about you and J a lot. Dh took voluntary redundancy a year ago, with 3 months gardening leave. He got a massive amount of support, the company gave him a recruitment 'mentor' from an external company who helped him with his CV, finding work, how to present yourself etc etc. It was an excellent experience for someone who had been out of the job hunting market for some time. I seem to remember the company were obligated to give him this, is it the same for your dh? Also our mortgage providers were very helpful when we worried about payments, we discussed all sorts of alternatives. Please don't fret, I'm hopeful for you both.
