Morning all.

Especially LG&T and India.

I will be requiring lengthy cuddles.

I shall be singing Hush Little Baby for the duration.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh I like that TYG. She's outgrown her all in one rain suit which was pence from the charity shop and I've struggled to find a reasonably priced one in a bigger size. Out of my price range sadly. Oh well, keep trying.

LG&T, you're absolutely not trying to lose weight yet. I forbid you.

Spent most of the day trying to light a fire. Now got to go out in the snow to chop more logs.

AM, you look beautiful. And impressive bump, but that's your 3rd. I had a bump like that at 8 weeks with no 1, imagine what I'd be like if I had more? Good job I won't hey?

Brr!

Themasterandmargaritas · 02/02/2009 16:26

Look look SOH, what about this? Or these from this lady

ShowOfHands · 02/02/2009 16:55

All too small.

Themasterandmargaritas · 02/02/2009 17:05

Oh Those dungarees thingies always come up pretty big. I would get them for J.

elkiedee · 02/02/2009 17:25

LOL, TMAM, don't joke about it. I went to the hospital, cab journey there seemed quite straightforward, roads fairly clear though it still hasn't stopped snowing.

And my appointment was a little more exciting than I expected. The consultant reckoned there's no need for the induction discussion when he examined me and found I'm already dilating. He sent me down to the Maternity Day Unit for monitoring because the heartbeat and blood pressure were a bit strange - and that was fine, only, "you're having quite a lot of contractions". I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought I was finally getting to feel real contractions!

I've finished packing my case, I think, my dad is on his way round to look after ds. I want to say hi to ds whom dp will pick up from his childminder about 5.30 pm, and I've rung the labour ward to warn them to expect me at some point this evening.

This baby has a great sense of timing, obviously. My mum's not going to drive down tonight, thank goodness, but hopefully they'll be able to set out in the morning.

Themasterandmargaritas · 02/02/2009 17:33

A SNOW baby. You could call him Neige or Snee or even just White.

Good luck! I hope it all goes swimmingly this time. We look forward to getting your news.

ShowOfHands · 02/02/2009 17:43

Oh wow elkie. Good luck.

Finegan means 'white warrior'.

How lovely, a new baby.

JamInMyWellies · 02/02/2009 20:14

Good Luck Elkie.

MKG · 02/02/2009 20:36

Elkie- good luck

Tillyscoutsmum · 02/02/2009 20:40

Good Luck Elkie

SOH - Tilly has a Togz - I got it from ebay Still not the cheapest, but got about £10-£15 off retailer prices. T loves her and gets lots of use out of it (especially on the back of dh's bike). Tour of Qatar today - even dh admitted it wasn't one of the most exciting races. Not even any interesting scenery to look at.

JamInMyWellies · 02/02/2009 20:54

What a lovely day here today. We took the Ds's out for a long snowy walk with the hound. It was so nice. A walked around with a giant snowball which he ate no yellow snow thank goodness. J has had the day off and possibly tom to if the weather stays bad.

AM the photos are fab what a party.

LG&T loving the boots how did you get on today?

TYG lovely photos of A.

SKY is your DP back out gritting tonight.

So we have been given a date for the at risk of being made redundant, yeah right will be made redundant. Its next Monday am bricking it I keep crying as am positive we will lose the house and end up moving in with the inlaws. Think I would rather set up a tent on the allotment with the chooks. Keep trying to stay upbeat about it and the two of us are making random jokes about the situation but it is like a massive black cloud hanging over us.

Ok happy again. Am off to upload photos of the snow will put some on my profile later.

ShowOfHands · 02/02/2009 21:20

Would redundancy buy him time to find another a job? Is there a redundancy package? What about switching your mortgage to interest only too? Has he had a look round at available local employment? Is there anything?

If there's anything I can do? We have a spare double and a children's room that dd doesn't use, preferring to sleep in with us. So, you could move in with me and we'd call it a yurt. Dead serious if it came to it. We'd have you. Won't come to it though. And the fear of living with the Gingerbread Lady of Norfolk will spur you on through the crisis no doubt.

MmeJaffaB · 02/02/2009 21:50

SOH, I must have a snow/ski suit for M. FB me her height, this weekend we are getting all the gear out to check it for skiing in March. We have 25yrs of suits for all ages and sizes in the loft including loads of hand me downs etc...... now I know you don't mind a hand me down. You can have one if I have a suitable one that'll fit her for a while, I'll post it to you.

Jam fingers crossed for you

Go Elkie!!!

Hope you have all had fun in the snow, another one of my many nieces broke her wrist slipping over today. Silly teen!

Talking of nieces, please join the group I sent FB reqests out to if you want to, don't think just because you don't know her you can't join. It's an open group. The more the merrier.

JamInMyWellies · 02/02/2009 21:51

Bless you my darling I couldnt possibly impose my bonkers lot on your idylic life. He is touting around for work speaking with contacts and doing some shmoozing but jobs in the city and his field are pretty rare at the mo. We have both said if we need to we will take on work wherever we can get it. If it does happen we will contact our mortgage company as soon as to chat to them about possible options. We are cutting everything to an absoloute min being incredibly frugal with everything just so we can save as much as poss now. Hoping the redundancy package will be fairly good he has been with the bank for 5yrs and they announce bonus' this wk and they are supposed to be offering 3mth gardening leave so we know we will have 3 months grace. If things really hit rock bottom on the job front we are both prepared to look overseas we have both done it before so is not too scary an option.

MmeJaffaB · 02/02/2009 21:59

It's nice in France.

JamInMyWellies · 02/02/2009 22:04

I would love France J however doesnt like the French [rolling eyes]. It would be US, Australia or Asia. I am voting for US specifically NY. Nothing atall to do with BF living there and girly Saturdays having our nails done while the Dp's look after the babies.

MKG · 03/02/2009 00:59

Jam you could come live with me!!

Themasterandmargaritas · 03/02/2009 04:23

No no don't listen to them. Come HERE! It's cheap and sunny and the market is strong, we could find dh a job.

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 09:26

Think i have a virus or something. Feel like poo. Went to bed at 5.30 last night as i had achey legs, sore head, sore tooth, was cold then hot then cold again. So annoying as have so many drugs i could take if not pg.

The nursery is OPEN today which is fab as i couldnt take another day of listening to the kids whinge.

Have had to cancel scan today as cant get to London but have re-arranged to Monday.

I am really hoping i shift this before our fun weekend at CP. Have ordered the kids some snow suits so at least they will be snug and warm.

Our estate is still covered in snow and we cant get our cars out. Bloody rear wheel drive BMW's! I thought mine was a 4x4 but obviously not Too many poxy hills to climb and there is now way round them.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 10:18

Right L has a snowsuit. It's navy blue. Ha ha, only joking, it's pink, of course!

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 10:21

AM - Not feeling any cheerier than when we spoke earlier?

AprilMeadow · 03/02/2009 10:24

Oh fab! Where did you get it? The ones i ordered yesterday have arrived along with the wooden sledge that dh ordered!

Nursery have said that even though the kids are only in for the morning they have space for them to stay all day!!! woo hoo. A day of cleaning and tidying yay.

JoesMrs! i will email you a list of the foods i think we need for the weekend and we can see how we split it.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 03/02/2009 10:26
