Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

Peachy, that is shocking!

LadyBee · 02/02/2009 10:26

I think we'll do that too - might get her to call us when he's either getting ready for his afternoon nap or waking up for it, and do the final segment of the day ourselves.

Ladybee, I think you should leave B there and go out for a long coffee and just sit around and talk nonsense for hours! That's what I would have loved to do! (No point really anyway, as dh apparently "has to" go in for an afternoon meeting, so he's planning on taking... wait for it.... the boat! )

LadyBee · 02/02/2009 10:30

sorry 'bout that.
I thought it was 15 cm here too..I think DP measured the wrong bit - it's lovely anyway. I almost like the neighbour's kids, after watching them run around squeeling with excitement and flinging themselves around like puppies in it.

Peachy, can't believe they won't have heating! That's so wrong.

Right, one more cup of tea and then back to work.

SalLikesCoffee · 02/02/2009 10:33

Hehe. It was so funny after I read your post last night - we had no idea that it was snowing at all! It was so weird opening the blinds and seeing everything white!

EllieG · 02/02/2009 11:06

IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!! OMG!!!! It' never snows here! It ain't sticking but that doesn't bother me

Nonono, where are everybody?? You're not allowed to a) work b) play c) go for extended coffee breaks at all today, as I'm quite chuffed that I can mumsnet today

Weather seems to be getting worse - you can see the wind blowing snow around now - white clouds of snow, it's beautiful, if freezing. Not sure central heating enough (well, it could also be because I've got all the blinds up as it's so pretty outside), so I'm now off to have a warm bath!

SalLikesCoffee · 02/02/2009 11:10

Ellie.

I keep threatening to take R outside in the snow to experience it, dh threatening me with all kinds of horrors if i do, hehe.

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 11:11

Sal you must- just for a few minutes for piccys, wrapped up well (then use those piccys to make next years Christmas cards LOL)

SalLikesCoffee · 02/02/2009 11:17

Yay, I've now got backup! I'm going to do it! Love the Christmas cards idea.

VictorianSqualor · 02/02/2009 11:21

I'll back you up too. Am off to get my two, and my friend's two as she as it work, from the school then we are all going into the garden to play in the snow

Soph73 · 02/02/2009 12:02

Morning (just) all. Very sore throat & headache today

You lucky things, obviously we never get snow DS1 has only seen snow once & he doesn't remember it because he was only 14 months old It would be lovely though to have a piccie of both boys all snuggly in the snow for Crimbo cards. However, unless we fork out for a snow machine that's unlikely to happen.

The Headmaster asked DH first thing this morning why he hasn't had his application. DH said he hadn't finished the letter & the Headmaster told him not to worry too much about it Don't know whether that's a good sign or not.

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 12:03

Ah but Soph we get snow once every two years and sun once every two years: at least you beat us on the latter by miles LOL

Soph73 · 02/02/2009 12:06

Am very about you lot meeting up. On the bright side though I've organised a girls night out on Sat & am staying overnight at a friends so get to get bladdered have a few glasses of wine & a lay in

Soph73 · 02/02/2009 12:07

Very true Peachy. Also I'm only wearing 1 long-sleeved top today

SalLikesCoffee · 02/02/2009 12:07

Weeelllll, we went out and got the pics, but if I'm honest I don't think Roelof was overly impressed with his mom! He seems to love looking at the snow from this side of the window though.

Will put some pics on flickr later and link here as proof!

SalLikesCoffee · 02/02/2009 12:14

Ah Soph, I wouldn't swop sunshine for a drink with me if I were you - I'm nice but not that nice Re dh's work: it's hard to judge from outside, but the way he handled it sounds positive to me. And if they weren't going to give it to him or at least very seriously consider it, they wouldn't have pushed him for the application.

Well, dh's boat plan is off as they were all advised to leave the office early because of the snow getting worse. I thought he was mad anyway!

ThePFJ · 02/02/2009 12:20

The snow is amazing here... fluffy flurries that are so dense you can hardly see at times, and its settling for once. It's been going since yesterday evening. We had a snowball fight last night .. has been so long since I did that I can't actually remember..(feeling old)

Am jealous of those of you not going to the dentist and meeting up for drinks. If anyone in Derbyshire wants to meet up then I am all ears! Thats if the snow doesnt become the next ice age of course haha.

eats her minieggs

Soph73 · 02/02/2009 12:27

Sal
The last time we had a snowball fight was New Years Eve 1999 That was 3 days before we left England to come here. So it's been 9 years. So PFJ you & I can feel old together Can't remember the last snowball fight I had as a kid though. I'm going to put the view from our house this morning on flickr if I can get it right. Bare with me

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 12:34

We ahd plenty two years ago and I have pics of the amphitheatre under snow but PC playing up!

Bas enjoying watching the flurries falling yelling wah wah (quavck quack) at the birds LOL

LadyBee · 02/02/2009 12:46

Boat did sound quite exciting - I've always thought that there should be more water taxis. Like venice. Much quicker. Surely not that bad for environment?

VictorianSqualor · 02/02/2009 12:49

PFJ, I'll be in Derby in the summer some time. I'm taking DP to Dovedale as he's never been.

Just spent over an hour making a snowman with the kids. Uploading pics now

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 12:51

Don't think there's anyone on here where we are going- Chertsey in June, Whitby for whitsun week and new forst in teh summer. Boo.

LadyBee · 02/02/2009 12:55

It's STILL SNOWING!!
Sorry will stop shouting, am a little giddy with excitement. Oooh I want Benedict back, and to see him being excited at snow too . Bas is sooo clever
