Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

pics on MN, vs? I can't see your profile.

Well Ladybee, I've agreed to take the boat with him tomorrow morning (bet you trains still won't work), so if you never hear from me again, it's because we sunk! I do wonder how the lack of visibility affects it, but apparently it's still running, so maybe ok.

I love taking the boat back from work in summer (don't do it nearly often enough). Takes longer, but it's lovely. The quicker one is still nice, you can sit there reading a newspaper while having a lovely view, but my favourite one is the slow one where you can have a glass of wine on the way home. How cool is that?!

VictorianSqualor · 02/02/2009 13:56

Soph73 · 02/02/2009 14:15

Scorpio - no, no seaweed, crabs, etc so far! Everything just gets covered in salt and sand though as it's quite windy where we are, although this morning was lovely & calm.

Yes I do love his chubby cheeks. Just want to constantly give him a squidge Even though he's given me his cold

EllieG · 02/02/2009 14:16

IS STILL SNOWING!!!! But still not sticking. DSD's netball match has been cancelled so we are going to make a teeny tiny snowball after school. Took Mol outside and she was a bit confused by it all bless her

Cool photos VS! I don't think we're going to have that kind of snow - last time we had a decent amount I was about 10. Which was obviously only about ten years ago

soph - stop making us all jealous of your lovely life in the sun......

Right am off to watch higgledy house and eat books til time to do school run. Or is that Molly? I might skip the books and have a cuppa.

ScorpiowithabigS · 02/02/2009 14:21

ahh you might win Peachy. will think of better things than that and be here to tel lyou soon enough!

LadyBee · 02/02/2009 14:21

oh no, we're worried our new cat has slipped out the front door and now is lost
We went out for a walk earlier this morning, came back and noticed door not shut properly but didn't think much of it. Realised we haven't seen cat all day...just hunted through the house and can't find him.
I hope he comes back
He's all black so should stand out in the snow, but he'll be very cold

ScorpiowithabigS · 02/02/2009 14:24

He will have found somewhere warm and will be back soon

Soph73 · 02/02/2009 14:35

LadyBee - cats are very resilient. He'll be curled up in the smallest space imaginable, all warm, snug & fast asleep & completely oblivious to the panic he's causing

Ellie - make me a cuppa , throat very very sore now Has been getting worse all day.

EllieG · 02/02/2009 14:37

peachy - have just spoken to my mate social worker from south wales - will post on here as not sure if riven checking other one and I know you will be here.

Is pretty much as I thought - first off, she should make a chronology of when the respite care has not been provided, and the response from social services when this has been queried. Should also record any dodgy comments from social worker. Her LO should have a care plan, which should be regularly reviewed, (I think every 6 weeks???) but if not, should ask for a child in need meeting to draw up clear care plan which should address needs of LO and theirs as carers. Doctors etc should be invited.

If you cannot go, if she contacts local CAB they can recommend an advocacy service to help her in meeting - this is her chance to raise her concerns about social services and the social worker in particular, nicely and appropriately so no one gets defensive, but some arses need to be kicked on this one. And helps to have someone in your corner.

Thing to stress - THIS IS IN NO WAY A CP ISSUE. This child has very complex needs, which have been identified and parents are providing good care. They are being let down by services which should be provided and are consequently less able to function. If anything happened to their child social services would be at fault, not them. They are not failing to provide their child with good care, social services are. A CIN meeting would ensure that clear roles and responsibilities are laid out, and that social services are upholding their end in the continuing care needed for their DD.

Speak later must go feed Molly x

LadyBee · 02/02/2009 15:34

poor soph, hope it doesn't get too bad.
I am soooo sick of my bunged up nose. I hate it. I would give anything for a nose you could detach, rinse out, and plug back on.

ScorpiowithabigS · 02/02/2009 15:43

snow on my profile!
