Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

My DH wouldn't dare try & have sex with me while I was sleeping cos if I woke up the first thing I'd do is smack him over the head with the alarm clock .... my sleep is very precious to me

ThePFJ · 28/01/2009 15:01

Mine wouldnt have either.. HE was asleep too. Used to freak me RIGHT OUT.

Soph73 · 28/01/2009 15:58

Oh, I didn't realise that I'm not surprised you were freaked out, I would be too.

RobertPattinsonComeToMomma · 28/01/2009 15:59

Once dh mentioned to me that we'd gotten a bit carried away last night and we really should be more careful as we weren't using contraception. Only I couldn't remember a thing! I didn't tell him that though!

scorpio1 · 28/01/2009 16:01

LOL

Still haven't got round to painting , but also the sofa people havent rung to arrange delivery yet . going to get Mum & Dad to have dc on saturday so me and DH can do it in one day.

Soph73 · 28/01/2009 16:07

RPCTM - LOL

Soph73 · 28/01/2009 16:29

LadyBee - have just spoken to DH and he says he doesn't think you can do a PGCE through distance learning because a lot of the course is conducted in schools. Don't know about part-time though. Sorry I can't be more help. You'd have thought I would have been with a husband who's a teacher

ThePFJ · 28/01/2009 17:21

Hehehehe Soph and RPCTM.

Chinese take-away tonight. Should put me in a good mood I hope.

xxx

EllieG · 28/01/2009 19:23

Hello.
DD not sleeping again and me and DH rowing.
That's all really - getting bored of self moaning now so giving you the truncated version.
He is stropping now because I used up the last of the washing powder and I forgot to buy more today.

Bah.

Am tired.

Hope everyone else is OK. COngrats on unemployment Oma

Is better now. He has just rugby tackled me in apparently peace-keeping manner and gone to the shop himself

Moan over sorry ladies, I am on a short fuse at moment, don't know why.

There's a PGCE in the OU but yopu need to find a placement

several part time options abound, you need to search google for graduate teacher training registry: comprehensive course list on there as only some do PT (and some do modular as well)

Be aware that most hours are placement based

LadyBee · 28/01/2009 19:45

Short fuse because you're not getting enough sleep Ellie - sorry DD isn't sleeping, hope you guys can find a solution that works (her stopping teething or whatever )

Thanks Soph, (and thanks Soph's DH), that does make sense about no distance, will continue to think - if I timed it right I could possibly do after having second DC.

I've decided that I have to have three (at least), because I want to experience midwifery care in NZ at least once and I'm not waiting 4 years to have my next (I hope!) When i was back there, driving around the streets of my home town it seemed there was a midwife practice on nearly every street. They have quite a good system there- basically pregnant lady meets with & chooses a midwife, normally from a group of midwives practicing together so they can cover absence etc., that midwife then gets funded by government to care for pg lady throughout pregnancy, delivery and postnatal care. Pg lady doesn't pay, has choice of midwife and continuity of care - hooray! Doesn't that sound nice?

LOL at sleeping sex - weird beasties, men.

VictorianSqualor · 29/01/2009 09:05

My poor little boy told me he didn't want to go to school this morning.
Apparently some little fucker pushed him over yesterday at play time and really hurt him so he said 'school isn't fun anymore' and he doesn't want to go. I hate kids. In fact, no, I hate shit parents who let their children grow up thinking it's ok to hurt people.

Soph73 · 29/01/2009 09:11

Morning all. Chip day - hooray but it's fish as well , hope they've got some chicken left over.

PFJ - did you enjoy your Chinese? Was wondering what to do for dinner tonight & (I think) we're being paid today so am now really wanting a Chinese.

Ellie - hope you managed to get some sleep last night.

Ladybee - that does sound nice. Apparently the maternity hospital here is getting birthing pools, da da! See, they are slowly dragging themselves into the present! Unfortunately won't be able to experience them myself but DS1's teacher might. I've just given her a load of baby clothes Was very brave about it, just sort of threw them at her and left the classroom, before I snatched them back or burst into tears

Soph73 · 29/01/2009 09:12

VS - poor little sausage Kids are so horrid aren't they. Hope he feels better soon.

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 09:51

we dont have pools at our maternity unit yet in the hospital, but there is one at the birthing centre. Might try a pool next time, my friend is due tomorrow and hoping to use her pool at home, so im waiting to see what she thought of it iyswim

Ellie i would have yelled and yelled at him. I have horrendous pmt

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 09:52

and im eating chocolate for breakfast.

VS - oh god, nothing worse than parents who let their angels do anything they want. I know a family like this...drives me nuts.

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 10:02

oh and i cant even find my home phone, the baby has nicked it.

Soph73 · 29/01/2009 10:11

Scorpio - you are having a fun morning aren't you? My period's due any minute, I keep having to dash to the loo to check (sorry if tmi). I had a jam sandwich & a cereal bar for my breakfast, was scrum Would have preferred choccie though. I've got a hot chocolate sachet in my bag for later. I've been bringing them to school instead of a load of chocolate or biscuits cos I just end up eating the whole pack

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 10:15

its so much fun LOL

and i have spots on my chin

Hot chocolate sounds a good idea!

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 10:42

FFS

bloody neighbours are drilling and have woken mimi up

knobbers

Soph73 · 29/01/2009 10:51

Go round & give them a good kicking. It'll make you feel better Fortunately Sam's a really heavy sleeper cos the Air Sea Rescue helicopter was practising opposite the house last night. There's a small island just off the coast and they were hovering over that for ages. It's quite interesting to watch sometimes but blinkin' noisy.

scorpio1 · 29/01/2009 10:53

we get lots of the air rescue helicopters here too (live literally 3 minutes walk from sea)and they are very noisy!

they are hammering now

jus twant some peace today; have to get Jamie at 12 so no hope really.

Soph73 · 29/01/2009 11:08

We are literally on the coast. I'll have to take a piccie this afternoon & put it on here to make you all envious Will you get a more peaceful day tomorrow so at least you've got something to look forward to?

Sam starts his speech therapy tomorrow. Poor little sausage now has to "work" from 8.30-10am. Bless him

Soph73 · 29/01/2009 11:16

Quick question. I've just tried to customise talk board & have moved stuff to excluded topics but when I click on last hour for example all the ones I've excluded are still there. I pressed save. Can anyone help?
