Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

Just bumping for myself so it doesn't go missing from Threads I'm on, sorry don't mean to ignore everyone!

SalLikesCoffee · 13/01/2009 21:42

Hello everyone. Also bumping to keep on TIO.

chipmonkey · 13/01/2009 22:22

Soph, I prefer your hair now! Nicer style and the colour is better darker.
And Sam is gorgeous! He looks very smiley and good-natured. Harry is like that which is a relief because ds3 was the most demanding baby ever and is still a lot of work.

Scorpio, your hair is so shiny!

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 09:14

Tsc - yes of course, lol. I am weirdly in love with my washing machine it is lovely and smells nice and everything!

It is lovely and shiny all the magic potions they put on it.

I am hungover and got about 2 hrs sleep last night - went out with mates

TheShipsCat · 14/01/2009 11:02

Good for you, Scorpio! I wish I had a similar relationship with my washing machine .

DH has had to drive off to see his mum today, as she has taken a turn for the worse. .
It also means that I have no car and two kids to get to nursery / out and about for a few days. Ho hum.

Soph73 · 14/01/2009 11:48

Morning all
Chipmonkey - thanks, I think I prefer it this way as well. I always have a complete change in hairstyle after having a baby (she says, only having changed it twice ) Yes, Sam is one of the nicest natured babies I know .... even if I do say so myself

TSC - sorry to hear about MIL Hope it's not too much hassle for you without the car.

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 12:23

Does this work? Mimi's new room

I warn you - its very pink

Soph73 · 14/01/2009 12:26

Scorpio - poo, my computer won´t let me open it. Can you put one on your profile? Pretty please

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 12:27

hang on/...

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 12:29

done

MommyHasaHeadache · 14/01/2009 12:46

Hello all!

TSC - so sorry to hear about your MIL - very sad for all I am sure.

PJF - also sorry for you too hun - at least you got to see your Gran before she passed.

LR - I'm from SA too - and going on hols there soon (25th)! Can't wait!! Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck with the nursery. I also dread it... sigh...

Scorpio - Mimi's room looks gorgeous!! Very pink and girly! I want to redecorate Gigi's room as well now! Currently hers is green and cream as we decorated it before she was born and didn't know what sex baby we would have! But ever since she was born I have had a hankering to redecorate it in pink! Lov the butterflies on the walls too - stunning!

Soph - I like your hair better now. You are so lucky that blonde/brown, short/long suit you. I am way to scared to venture away from long blonde hair! In fact the shortest I ever had it was bob length and that made me look like a 10 year old boy!

So yes - off to SA soon and I have a few question for you ladies that are just back from there - Sal and LR. Firstly, if you are FF, did they at security let you take cartons and bottles through no probs? Secondly, what did you feed them on the plane? I am thinking of taking a couple of ella pouches - if thats what you took, did Security have any probs with those? Next, formula - what formula do they have in SA? Is it similar to Apitmal? And lastly, I know I am not always going to be able to make Gigi's food, so need to find out what the store bought is like? Any good? Thanks!

Soph73 · 14/01/2009 13:31

Scorpio - hang on while I calm my retinas Good lord, that is pink. I've never been a girly girl & don't really do pink so it's a bit much for me. However, the butterflies are cute.
MHaH - lucky you. I was sort of planning to take the boys to England this year but DS1's passport has expired & Sam needs one so better get sorted I suppose. However, it costs 175 euros each so will have to do them over several months! I think you can take bottles through customs but you have to try it first. That's what you had to do when the heightened security first started anyway. May have changed now though.

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 13:33

LOL

the pictures have come out different o RL iyswim - her blind was shut so light was on, and flash - makes it look glo in the dark

chipmonkey · 14/01/2009 13:38

Scorpio, that room looks l;ike you put a pink filter on the lens!
( I am very though!)

Soph73 · 14/01/2009 13:40

That's alright then

LadyBee · 14/01/2009 14:21

MHAH, I think it depends a lot on who you get on the day - I took tonnes of food and formula and wasn't asked to taste anything, but i did make sure everything I took was under 100g/100ml, and put it all in one bag that I could pull out and just wave under the guys nose saying 'this is baby food'.
(Had another bag with my toothpaste, calpol sachets, lip balm etc).
I took a couple of bottles with boiled water in them & powder in one of those measuring cups (which I didn't end up using but I figured if I had to taste them all I'd be doing was drinking some water so no biggie, and if they refused i could always get water on the plane and still use the powder). I also took a couple of those SMA gold starter pack things - small 100ml bottles that come with a packaged mam teat that you screw directly onto the bottle and then dispose of everything once done. That was actually really good for take-off/landing as it's 'snack' size so it didn't matter that I was feeding when he wasn't really due a feed. At that stage he was really not interested in a dummy so that wasn't an option for me. I breastfed on a couple of landing/takeoffs but he wasn't interested for a couple (wanted to look around) so the small bottle was godsend in preventing sore ears.
I found B pretty uninterested in eating very much, but found something called Peter Rabbit pouches which are under the 100ml/g limit. Plum baby pots are also 100g. Also took rice cakes.
Maybe pack a few Aptamil cartons to take with you so you can compare ingredient lists and have something to keep you going until you find something gigi likes?

OMaLittle · 14/01/2009 14:28

Hi girls! Just checking in to say happy new year. Back to work next week so will probably be more regular .

Hope all is well with everyone. Feeling much better here but still quite overwhelmed a lot of the time. It is going to be SO hectic in the mornings getting both girls to nursery, DH is definitely getting it back for having the easy run last time! Boss still being an a-hole and saying I can't leave at 5 but I am just going to unless there's a specific reason he wants me to stay in which case I have emergency arrangements in place. Fingers crossed for redundancy asap.

Bugger, DD1 up.

Lots of love to all, TSC sorry to hear about MIL, and PFL so sorry about your Nan but glad you got to see her.

LadyBee, where do you work? Can we meet up for weepy lunches? And Sal?

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 14:31

I was thinking about you earlier actually Are you getting some sleep now? Hope your work goes ok...soundsl ike you don't want to go!

OMaLittle · 14/01/2009 14:36

Really really really really really really really really really really don't. E has done about 7 nights right through now, of course P wakes up on those nights, but yes, am getting more sleep and had a lovely relaxing time (in spite of illnesses which still haven't really shaken) over Christmas and NY. DH been working till 10 most nights since then, though. Wedding anniversary today! He got me a gorgeous bracelet and I didn't even get a card for him .

Not all bad with work, hoping to be out (hopefully redundant but if not quit) and start a PGCE in Sept. Really excited about it!

scorpio1 · 14/01/2009 14:39

Oh congrats to anniversary!! Nice present too Mine is on monday.....

pgce sounds fab - lots of work! I am forcing myself to go back to uni but dont really want to but have to iyswim. Glad you have had some rest - you deffo deserved it after all this time!

Soph73 · 14/01/2009 14:52

OMaLittle - hi there. Pleased to hear that you had a relaxing Crimbo & New Year. Congrats to Anniversary. Good luck with your PGCE - very exciting

Blimey Scorpio has it really been a year since you got married???? Where the heck's the time gone? Congrats for Monday as I shall probably forget

Soph73 · 14/01/2009 15:18

Right, I'm off. Has your hangover cleared Scorpio now it's 3.20? Why is 3pm a magic hangover disappearing time anyway? Or is that when you break open the coooking sherry while you're getting dinner ready

chipmonkey · 14/01/2009 16:02

OMA, glad to hear things are better.

Collected our 7 seater car today! About time, too, we haven't been able to go anywhere all together in ages!

TheShipsCat · 14/01/2009 16:28

Welcome back OMa - I was starting to worry about you! Sorry about the job, but great news that the sleeping has improved! Fingers crossed for redundancy ...

TheShipsCat · 14/01/2009 16:29

And chipmonkey . Not only at having a car, but a seven seater! Our fiesta seems to be getting smaller by the minute ...
