Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

think you need some of his ID scorpio - dh picked one up for me on saturday and took my drivers license

TheShipsCat · 12/01/2009 15:04

Hi girls,
Sorry to hear of sick babies. I am taking A to GP again on Wednesday because she is still vomiting - has been since birth really, but I am worried there might be something wrong now. They've always fobbed me off before - "babies are sick''. But really, still? 10 times a day?

Also, all is a bit sad here as DH's mother, who I really get on with, and is the best MIL you could hope for, is very ill. She got breast cancer last year, after loads of treatment got the 'all clear' in the summer, then just before Christmas they said they'd made a mistake and she has cancer everywhere. Since Christmas she has felt really ill, but couldn't get a GP home visit. Turned out she has a collapsed lung and serious infection. If it doesn't clear up (now she's in hospital) she only has a few weeks. If it does, she has about 2 years, on permanent chemotherapy and in a wheelchair with a nurse. . Its awful really. I don't know how to help DH, or his family. We're postponing our holiday, but it's very nasty - living in limbo, not knowing from one day to the next how she is.

And PFJ - so sorry to hear about your nan. Its a tough time of year for the elderly.

scorpio1 · 12/01/2009 15:40

TSC - oh no poor MIL, DH and you Cancer is terrible, it really is a nasty disease. I hope you are all holding up, be strong. I lost my nan to cancer when i was 37 weeks with Mimi .

DonDons - thankyou, i will try with his passport then. It's more pushchair stuff

scorpio1 · 12/01/2009 19:44

Noooooooooooooooooooooo

Charlotte Church is calling her baby my fictional ds3 (dc4's) name! Dexter. pooh. now there will be millions of them!

EllieG · 12/01/2009 20:10

Plus if Charlotte Church is using it will become chav name instantly

Sorry for you and your DH theShipsCat xxx

And sorry for poor wee Bas and all other poorly babies. Clarissimo - my sympathies. When me and DH are both ill is still muggins wot does the work. Think is a lazy arsed man thing.
Mol is not poorly at moment hurray but is being a pain in the bum this evening. Her sleeping gets worse, not better and I am Fed Up. I bet everyone else's baby sleeps through now apart from mine [feels sorry for self emoticon]
She is not taking much food but wanting loads of milk at moment - I was giving her loads but then thought it might be making her too full for food, but when try and up her food she refuses more. What to do please? Do I just let her be a milk monster for a bit?

OP posts:
chipmonkey · 12/01/2009 21:33

I would be inclined to just let her have the milk. They know what they need at that age.

SophtheRedNosedReindeer · 13/01/2009 09:10

Morning all.
TSC - so sorry for you & your family. My thoughts are with you all.
Back to work However, shouldn't complain as have had lovely holiday. DS1 & Sam have dreadful colds again though, which is typical really. Sam has settled straight back in to Nursery, which is great and yesterday was the first time he didn't cry during his occupational therapy Poor DS1 had a couple of grotty days over hols as he reacted REALLY badly to his vaccination & it coincided with him going down with dreadful vomiting bug.
I'm now going off to change my name back & catch up with all your gossip

bumpkin32 · 13/01/2009 10:48

Hiya,
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one putting LO in nursery - don't know any of my friends that have done it yet.
Have now caught sickness bug from DD - feel dreadful, so now feel very proud of her being so brave if she felt like I do now!

LadyBee · 13/01/2009 11:04

Morning Soph, sorry to hear about DS1, that vomiting bug is bad enough, without having to suffer vaccination woes as well, poor bean.
I'm feeling sorry for myself as have picked up the stomach thing too and am feeling grotty. B has been packed off to childminder though so am able to mooch about (well...I've paid for it, and he's well again, so may as well go ).
Also think I'm going a bit nutty as keep bursting into tears when I think about LittleRascal's pregnancy (am very pleased for you LR, sorry you're feeling ill though). Think maybe my queasiness is bringing back memories of early pg last time, which in turn is bringing back memories of previous lost pregnancy. Or maybe I'm just premenstrual and mopey .
Hello Bumpkin I know what you mean about being proud of babies coping with bug...if DS felt as bad of this I'm amazed he didn't complain more (or maybe I'm just a wuss? quite likely)

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 11:36

Hiya bumpkin. My poor baby has had to go to nursery since he was 4 months I feel dreadful about it because I had 3 years at home with DS1 but we couldn't afford it this time. Having said that, he absolutely loves going so it's only me that's suffering Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. Hope you get better soon.
LadyBee - same to you re getting better soon. I'll cry with you as I'd love to have another but we're not having any more Congrats to LittleRascal though - fab news

EllieG · 13/01/2009 12:44

My mate's little girl went full time from 3 months and is now an incredibly sorted and happy little 18 month old, who adores going to nursery. I think it's more parents that worry. She's never known anything different, so separation anxiety or whatever never kicked in. I kinda wish in some ways that I could have started back part time earlier, so would have just been part of Mol's routine too, but wasn't allowed to be part time by work. Never mind, will all be fine I think - there are after all very few babies harmed by good and stimulating childcare, but if I can't afford food that might cause some problems

scorpio - re our conversation last night, DH is adament that he wants to go to France, so house swap out boo, but on the plus side, if you come over we can go out drinking doing wholesome kiddie activities

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 13:32

Hi Ellie You're right about it being the parents that worry. As long as babies are fed, changed, stimulated, etc they don't bat an eyelid. Ungrateful little b*ers

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 13:44

Have put some recent piccies on my profile. Have a look further down and tell me whether you prefer my hair long & blonde or as it is now. Please bear in mind that in the most recent piccies I haven't styled it as it should be done

LadyBee · 13/01/2009 13:57

hmm, dunno Soph, I think I prefer it blonde but would stick with the shorter style.

I hurt. Have taken a paracetamol, just waiting for it to kick in. Keep forgetting that I breastfeed so can't break out the complete pharmaceutical armoury yet. Am staring longingly at the bathroom cupboard.

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 14:29

Thanks LadyBee. Sorry to hear you're hurting. At the moment I'm trying to persevere with growing all the colour out of my hair. I know that it's 99% grey but would like to know if there is any of my original colour left!!! However, I'm starting to look like my Granny so may have to relent and dye it again

scorpio1 · 13/01/2009 14:46

oh new hair - i had mine done today! pic on profile....

RedOnHerHead · 13/01/2009 14:50

can I join please???
I think I already did somwhere along the lines, but DS2's name isn't on the list at the beginning of the thread

I'm Red, and DS2 was due 28th April '08 but didn't arrive until May 5th - His name is Breyen, weighing 8lbs 6oz.

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 15:00

Hey Scorpio - great hair Wish mine would look that good. It doesn´t help that it's so bloody windy where we live that as soon as I step out the front door I look as though I've been blown through a hedge backwards!

Hiya Red

TheShipsCat · 13/01/2009 15:02

Hello Red, welcome back!

Lovely hair, Scorpio...

My boast for the day - I can nearly see the bottom of the laundry basket. And the place is so tidy that it actually looks as if we have moved out. [smug emoticon]

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 15:02

Finally getting our house back to ourselves tomorrow night. Mum, Step-Dad & Nan are going home. It's been great having them & it was OK while we were on hols but it's a bit of a squash & a squeeze & a pain in the arse while we're working. I'll need another week off now to put my house back to the way I want it

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 15:03

I'm only jealous

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 15:05

Of course the downside to them going back is that there won't be dinner waiting for us when we get in & yesterday when we walked through the front door my Mum was doing the ironing .... bliss!

Soph73 · 13/01/2009 15:21

Right, got to tidy up and then home time to enjoy the pampering while the family's still here. See you tomorrow

scorpio1 · 13/01/2009 15:45

[needs life emoticon]

Thanks for hair comments....about time i had it done!

Hi Red

TheShipsCat · 13/01/2009 16:06

Can I post you ours, then Scorpio?
