Having said that, after the exploding poo he just did, "covered in sh*t" would be a better description than "gifted and talented"...

You know that moment when you look at your tiny baby who has poo up to his nipples and he looks back at you and grins and then tries to chew his poo-covered hand? Adorable.

Am now going off dungarees as they do not contain the poo as well - it just goes up as well as down the leg!

Ceebee, where do you live? I am in Sheffield and there is nothing here but the Showroom might be interested. I am desperate to go to the flicks - I was a bit of a film nut before I had Fin but we can't exactly take him with us and we have only seen one whole film on DVD during the entirety of his 10-week existence. I think now I am expressing that a date with my hubby involving dinner and a movie sounds like a must.

Rosa · 20/01/2009 13:24

Thanks so much for the links I am tempted by them but think that the £40 suit thing one might be the best as I can use it when she will be reversed as well . It is a bit expensive so I have to decide how much use she will get out of it ... If I don't get it it will pi*s with rain every time i Have to do the walk alone if I do teh sun will shine ...So I guess I should get it then . Its so windy here today and warm ( strange) and thankfully the predicted heavy rain has not hit the lagoon yet ...
Lacks keep taking the vitamins to combatte cold - I think yo would make an excellent bf advisor btw - you have been so helpful on here!
Do you all dress your LO in the day and then put in sleep suit at night? Am I the only lazy one who doesn't and changes baby gro / sleepsuit every 24 hrs ( poos or special outings permitting )

ruthosaurus · 20/01/2009 13:32

Rosa I do that now as I am trying desperately to teach him the difference between night and day. But it is a hassle, esp when he poos all over the place several times in one day. I keep a babygro and a vest in the change bag and he had to be put in these in town on Saturday - I did feel a bit like he was in his pyjamas! He love it but then fell asleep, so it seems to be working.

Plus, he is so huge that people might wonder why that four-year-old is wearing baby clothes.

Oblomov · 20/01/2009 14:16

Was just about to say congratulations to Ceebee, then saw that not a total sleepthrough last night - but hey, still pretty good. And atleast one sleepthrough - I am sure more will follow in the next week.
Glad to see Daisys bumble had another 7 hr strtch. Things are def on the up.
Last night better. Bf at 8pm and then me and ds2 collapsed ont he sofa bed. Feddat 11pm and then 4am and then 7am. we were on the sofa bed together all night. Hope to get back into my own bed with dh soon, but one step at a time eh !! Atleast there was no inconsolable crying from 10pm-midnight, so that is a success.

Do you think we will be bale to talk about something else other than sleep/sleeping through soon. God, I hope so. What will be the next discussion topic ?

LOVE hana's new title for thread.

Laughing at Rutho's G&T first words.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/01/2009 14:18

Rosa, bumble was in babygros most of the time, but I have so many lovely outfits that he wore once or twice befoire growing out of them that I decided it was time to start putting him in proper clothes. And also trying to reinforce the night and day thing.

Who was it that had issues re childcare vouchers and maternity pay and busybees as voucher providers? One of my MN mates is having issues at the minute and I wanted to link the thread that you had going in the summer. Can anyone help?

I've done nothing today. No housework, no laundry away, nothing.

The smoking/SIDS thing scares me. DH is back in the bed again, but is still having two or three cigars a day. He is on the other side of me and bumble is in his cot at my side of the bed, but I'm still worriyng about it. Paranoid or not?

By the way me and dh getting on better. Not that it was bad before. Agree with cricri, that he has just focused on those words, but understandable, I think, to be scared by someone saying something so untrue/unhelpful.

But last night was our 'anniversary'. Of when we went out together for the first time. 19th jan. Then we got married on 19th july aswell, so we have always celebrated this, in a little way.And I FORGOT . Dh made dinner and got a bottle of wine. and he said to me, "you've forgotten, haven't you" - he wasn't crosss. But I was very sad and ashamed.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/01/2009 14:23

My money is on either weaning or teething

How are things Obs? you OK?

OP posts:
Heartmum2Jamie · 20/01/2009 14:25

ARGH! I am not doing well at keeping up with the thread at all, so I am very sorry I have little idea of what is going on with anyone

Sooo, I will try and cover myself by saying well done to those babies who are sleeping through (Zack included), sending hugs and sympathy to those mummies who aren't getting a full nights sleep, get well soon to any poorly babies and sending love & hugs to mummies and babies dealing with jabs.

Things are ok here. We ran out of Gaviscon for Zack right now and he hasn't been too bad so far, but did pop on and off the breast alot at his 1pm feed. DH took the prescription in today, won't be eady until tomorrow, but I may go to the chemist later (they know me very well as am always in and out for ds2's meds) and ask if I can at least have 1 dual sachet tonight for his bedtime feed. I am also a little upset that he appears to have eczema, it is starting in almost the same way as ds2's did, on his cheeks and chin. I am still holding a little hope that it is just irritation from wiping slobber all around his face. Suppose I should take him to the GP as the 0.5% hydrocortisone has gone missing from ds2's repeat prescriptions and 1% would be too strong for his delicate skin.

Right, my arm is aching from 1 handed typing and I am getting fed up of being headbutted by the baby who won't nap (downside of baby who sleeps well at night), so going to change his nappy as he's just filled it and try once again to get him to nap.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/01/2009 14:27

cross post Obs. I'm glad things are better, and that he went to the effort of making dinner. And I think after all that's been going on you're allowed to forget about your little anniversary....you can always make it up to him

Just keep talking to each other

OP posts:
Oblomov · 20/01/2009 14:28

I have been well busy today. Had a mum round for coffee and cake, from ds1 new 'reception' year. Then went to PN group. Then invited one of those ladies round for coffee and cake aswell. Then went to physio for shoulder. AND made beef casserole with dumplings - yum yum.
Off to do school run now.

Oblomov · 20/01/2009 14:30

I did tell you that the top Paed doctor told me to wean M early didn't I ? He told me to start him at 3.5 months. SO I may well be the first to wean. Haven't decided yeat .

I will tell him Hana.
And Daisy, as for that, 'making it up to him', well, we still haven't got 'back in the saddle' yet. even after my 'o'. hardly surprising. we MUST sort that.

Heartmum2Jamie · 20/01/2009 15:26

Just quickly while Zack is actually sleeping in his moses basket!

I agree with Hana that leaks in disposables may be the wrong brand or could be something as simple as he is ready to upsize? I found that ds1 was a huggies baby, ds2 was a pampers baby and Zack is in a mix of differnt types of cloth. We haven't had as single poo blowout in any of the cloth, but sometimes him BGv3 leak as he'a a fairly heavy wetter, but tot bots/bamboozles have been very good (actually most 2 parters are very good)

LackaDAISYcal · 20/01/2009 16:33

agree re the nappies. DS1 was a huggies baby; he leaked everywhere with pampers and we can't use pampers with DD for the same reason, but she is fine with most other brands. DS2 had some interesting explosions with the nature babies reuseables but has been fine with pampers and tesco own brand.

funny little odd shaped things!

that's the babies not the nappies

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 20/01/2009 16:38

And upsizing might be an option. Also found that if there isn't any spare in the crotch BF poo just scoots upwards!

for comparison bumble is in size 3s

Hello all

I have been reading but don't have much to say thats not me me me but wanted to catch up with you all.

Really pleased for all the people having better nights (Daisy, Obs) and those having sleep throughs (whom I am v of!) M is consistently waking at 3-4.30am for a quick feed and even went to 5.30 one night last week. I really don't think he's hungry as he's asleep after 5/10 mins so I think it must be habit. Hopefully he'll soon realise its not worth getting out of his nice warm bed (ohhh - must open windows wide whilst feeding tonight )

Obs glad you and DH are talking and how lovely of him to prepare you a nice anniversary dinner - I'm sure he understood you forgetting with everything thats going on and I hope you had a nice evening. BTW - I will never forget your wedding anniversary as its my birthday!

As for the nappy chat - I use reuseables and they have only ever leaked once - and that was after M was constipated and waited 8 days for a poo - I think they are fab!

All the photos of your LOs are lovely!

M was weighed yesterday and is 11lb 9oz at 10 weeks so he is putting on weight well despite constantly upchucking all over me and him . He must be a greedy bugger like his dad !

Have anyone's LO's rolled over yet?? M has been trying but gets stuck about a third of the way. Also loving the baby chat talk "Saurus*. I always say "hi" to M and I'm sure he says it back - but sounds more like "aiii" .

Have a nice evening all. x

still doing the bedtime routine tho and E is in bed sleeping by 7pm every night, up at 11ish for feed then 3-4am then 7am ish but instead of getting up we have another hour or so of sleep

LackaDAISYcal · 20/01/2009 20:08

rolling...already atta boy minichoco

Bumble spends most of his time in his chair but when on the mat is quite happy to just lie there. Like hana's baby he can wriggle across the mattress to me when he wants feeding in the night.

and he says goooo a lot and eeeee

feeling really glum tonight ; not sure why.

Well had lovely day but I feel really sick and beyond wiped out . Dont think setting up for DH birthday and doing jelly at 4am helped after I fed A. Before I crawled back into bed at 4.30am I checked on DS who's room smelt horrible . So whilst he was asleep I was smelling his bum which was fine so I just went to bed. Then this morning his room was smelling worse ... he had pooed himself really badly. I ended up carrying the poor soul to the bath so after I had peeled his clothes off and wiped him down he could have a shower. DS was fine in himself but the poo and smell was horrendous. I can take a lot of bad smells as a result of nearly 13 years with DH and 2 kids but it was so bad I was nearly sick . I then took him to nursery thinking maybe a one off ... nope I got a call at 10am to come fetch him as done it again. BAD MUMMY.
But on a good note apart from the poo "incidents" and occasional testing of boundaries DS has been good and he loved the party (sandwiches, sausage rolls, jelly, cake etc) we had when DH got home. He loved it so much. After I fetched in the cake and DS and me sung happy birthday he blew out DH candle before he got chance Hee hee. DS went to bed no problem 7.30 and A went just before and I've been up once for 5 mins since when she woke up and probably thought "how did I get here and what has happened to the lights".
lacks - I had issues with childcare vouchers and stuff and did post a link, I will try and find it, but I wasnt the authority. I cant remember who is, sorry.
