Crap, DD up for the 3rd night in a row. She took ages to calm down, now she is watching ITNG. Bad I know, but she is poorly. This is going to get into a habit though . I just want to go to bed

Ohforfoxsake · 15/12/2008 23:01

I missed it. Darn it. Might have to stay up and watch it on iplayer.

Nowt wrong with TT. DS1 used to carry all four round with him constantly. He'd chat to them at bedtime. they will stay with me forever, along with DS2s spiderman costume (complete with gimp mask)

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 15/12/2008 23:09

do you mean the actual TTs will be with you forever (as in his toys?). Or would that just be me?
I think DS1 would describe them as "a classic" (which means feck off I'll watch it if I want to)

we are watching Come Dine with Me (BT vision is shite and the salesman was a liar) I LOVE voice-over man!!!

my DH can make ... chocolates (it is what he does at work apparently, to look busy). Obviously I need to sample, but I think I might love him!

bumper, sanity is more important than everything else. I remember watching Postman Pat with DS1 at 4am when he was tiny.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 15/12/2008 23:20

I love the voice over man too!

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 15/12/2008 23:23

FFS - "the sorbet was COLD"

DH is PHSL.

DS2 was watching Rosemary Schragers cookery school at teatime (before DS1 hijacked the TV for Evacuees reunited - my kids are weird)

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 15/12/2008 23:24

Ok, she is in her cot yelling, but the gaps are getting slightly longer. I hope she doesn't wake up again. I feel bad for leaving her though, but she has to go back to sleep.

Ohforfoxsake · 15/12/2008 23:29

Yes, Ria. They will go into my 'special box'.

I did the same tonight Bumper she's not sleeping well in the day, and I think that has an effect on night sleeping.

Ohforfoxsake · 15/12/2008 23:30

you are lucky Ria! A husband who makes chocolate

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 15/12/2008 23:47

phew. am glad it's not just me

We only have Po (and the giant pj case DS2 got from the hospice shop) as DS1s 1st xmas was the first year of TTs and they were the big rare xmas must-have!

But if we are on cbeebies no-nos - I HATE the shiny show. And who would really care if Sarah Jayne and Justin shared the same bed in Higgledy House???

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 16/12/2008 07:31

Oooh, I like the shiny show.

The other day people were talking about what presents the LOs are getting. Here jamlet will be getting a stocking with 2 books (1 new, 1 second hand), a puzzle (2nd hand), a hat, a baby bath bomb, a satsuma and a bag of choc buttons. Under the tree will be from us the ELC fire station, a set of skittles (2nd hand) and a couple of books (2nd hand). Sounds like loads to me, but on the other hand we've only bought one book and the fire station new.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 16/12/2008 07:56

Morning....we (well, DD) likes TTs too.....not quite as moronic as ITNG (although she loves that too).

I paid £14 off e-bay for a cuddly Po....if my 14 year old neice had kept all hers....she'd make a lot of money from them. I really struggled to get one at a half decent price.

Daisy....hope you got some sleep last night x

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 16/12/2008 07:57

and you too Bumper....you're very brave watching TV at that time of night....I don't let DD out of her room cot after bedtime....or the lights on.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 16/12/2008 08:20

Yay, DS1 is back at school. He has written an inspired story for the competition about the toys horses out of "Two Little Boys" (his Rolf Harris obsession is worrying) having to help the reindeer pull the sleigh on Christmas Eve... just hope he didn't miss the deadline.

oh joy, DS2 just got up and DH has gone back to bed, and the TV is ON!

FestiveFairyFay · 16/12/2008 10:00

Hi everyone. DS loves the TT and goes to bed with his Po every night. I suspect i have been bidding againt you for a cuddly one on ebay Norty . I finally managed to get onein the Wollies sale. The box is very battered which is presumably why it was left. Nowhere else seems to sell thm anymore.

I have a chest infection . Am in bed with a temp for 2nd day in a row but am hoping the ABs will kick in and I'll be ok tomorrow as DH really has got to go back to work. So still no packing done. I have bitten the bullet and asked my cleaner to come for 5 hours on Saturday to help us pack. It's going to be very tight getting it all done by Sunday 10am though. I do like to make things difficult.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 16/12/2008 10:07

fairy. I am going to get the TTs xmas video out soon

I have no motivation today. I should ice cakes or something, but can't be bothered to get dressed. We are going to go to the library later for festive books.

DS1 has gone back to school because he didn't want to have to go with us to PILs on Thursday, also they are testing their roman shields (another weeks worth of paper mache on the kitchen table) in history, and his is pretty impressive (even if I do say so myself)

FestiveFairyFay · 16/12/2008 10:11

Thanks ria. Are you feeling any better?

I should say.... I will try really, really hard to make my SS gift by Friday and post it on Saturday but a million apologies if someone doesn't get theirs until after xmas.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 16/12/2008 10:17

We have a large purple TT (tinky winky?) if anyone would like it for their LO....or maybe I should sell it for £14 on ebay

I've also got a couple of videos, but I suspect most folks don't have video players any more!

DS had a habit of liking things that weren't the in thing and I spent hours on ebay searching for Little Robots one Christmas, and Thunderbirds another one.

Ria, DS1 watches fishing, cooking and nature programmes, and anything with dinosaurs or volcanoes, plus a bit of ice road truckers, how it's made and deadliest catch. His favourite channel is UKTV documentary.

so much for bumba getting a feed from DH to give me a break; he necked it apparently and then was looking for me at midnight, and then he fed every couple of hours through the night, and wouldn't settle in the cot but wanted to be snuggled up close to me. I got a couple of consecutive hours sleep at least. DD used to do her cluster feeding at a civilised time of day, even if it went on for hours.

I still have a sore throat and headache so feel a bit rough, but mentally am a bit more on an even keel(I hope) (though could have burst int tears just listening to Evacuees Reunited from the other room, I hope it's not on again tonight, although bless him for being interested). Thanks FF.

Maybe we should have gone for Epiphany (sp?) gifts like butterfly metioned.

I still have to write and post cards too...

Dratted Christmas!

FestiveFairyFay · 16/12/2008 10:19

That sounds exhausting Daisy

Thanks for the offer, but DS is only really interested in Po.

FestiveFairyFay · 16/12/2008 10:20

I hope you feel better soon.

I have decided not to do Xmas cards this year. i will send new year/change of address cards in Jan instead. I am having to accept that I just can't 'do it all', much as I'd like to

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 16/12/2008 10:21

DS1 has been asked to be the innkeeper at the church christingle ... I am thinking Al Murray (it is a very progressive church)

DHs striped grandad shirt and a tea-towel will be the reality though.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 16/12/2008 10:21

sorry you are feeling poorly ria and fairy .

And fairy, I think we all understand you have had other things on your plate rather than worrying about secret santa!

I am getting on with mine now....eventually! Last date for first class post is next Monday I think so I have time still (just)

OP posts:
FestiveFairyFay · 16/12/2008 10:22

I am still hopeful of getting the present done, just not certain. I had planned to make it yesterday and send it today but that just hasn't happened

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 16/12/2008 10:22

did the whisky help daisy?
