hi and bye sputnik, thanks for the reminder about replying to friend

(FWIW I started buying for my GodS, but as he has 2 DBs I thought I needed to get token gifts for them so they didn't feel left out, which was fine. Gifts for friend started cos she made me something one year, and as I don't really do crafting you could give to anyone except your mum, I bought something in return, but I have always done token gifts. She moved on to the more expensive stuff.)

I remember butterfly....of course you were here before! I remember your hindwater leak and worrying about getting your homebirth.

Klaw is still around, she was great with my VBAC stuff and both she and lulumama helped me through my crises of confidence....I love MN for stuff like that.

another great night of baby partying here. I went to bed at 11 with the baby.....he decided he was staying up until after 2!! I have given birth to a party animal. Tonight I'm of to bed at seven and will get up again when he wakes for his 11pm feed!!

Morning

Blimey Daisy.....sounds like hard work....and you're on your own today? Does DD still have a nap? Get your head down if you can while she does....

Reindeer and Santa were great yesterday.....K wasn't overly impressed but we didn't try to make her go near him....and when she got to the barn with the ride-on toys and all the animals (goats, reindeer, rabbits, geese, turkeys etc), she loved it. She run around and enjoyed the freedom. It was blardy cold though and VERY busy....next year will be better when she's a tad older. Done a few wheel spins to get the car out of the quadmire that was the car-park though. It was out in the middle of nowhere....and PACKED!

Can't motivate myself to do anything so far today....DD just gone down, so if I'm quick and get dishwasher / washing / tumble dryer sorted, I can have an hour myself

do any of you know where Santas last drop is on NORAD? DS1 is writing an xmas story for school, and he likes his facts.

DS1&2 home sick today. DS2s school rang to find out where he was at 9.15 as he should have been doing his last play at 9.30 (it is not my fault the line was engaged every time I tried to ring them)

Aiming for some kind of achievement today

No such luxury for me today Norty. I'm off to drop DD at the PILs then back into town for a hospital appointment (physio for my pelvic floor issues) then back out to pikc DD up then back home to get DS from school.....then tea and some housework before DH gets home.

Ah, the work of a SAHM is never done

I have non maternity jeans on today.....and am sporting a huge muffin top! Nice!!!

Hi all, I see you've all been chatty while I was busy with my parents' visit. I'm just bookmarking this so I can come back later and catch up properly. Had a lovely time with my folks, though Mum drives me mad at times, and they loved seeing the jamlet.

It's her nursery party this afternoon and when DH dropped her this morning they asked if he was coming. We hadn't realised it was open to parents too, so I am going to arrange to finish early and get there for some of it at least. So I might get to see Santa!!

hi jammy!

Welcome back Ria!! Lovely to see you
Your BIL sounds a right arse Butterfly (like mine but in a different way)
Got to nursery in time to catch the end of their party. Apparently jamlet loved seeing Santa but he was on his way out as I arrived
Someone asked - no I don't post on July 07 anymore. I stopped fairly quickly as they weren't as chatty as you lot
We put lights and a few decorations up yesterday, but no tree. Was nice to do that while my parents were here. Was lovely to see them but it seems very quiet now. Some of the things my mum says though! Like when I got stuff out for lunch and put one new loaf and the last couple of slices of the old one out on the table along with ham and cheese and pickles and she said "ooh, enough bread there to open a bakery" Be a pretty piss poor bakery with just one loaf of bread if you ask me!

LOL jammy. I love the Peter Kay line "if it's not one thing it's your Mother" (just watching Roary the Racing car which is why I'm thinking of P Kay)

I have cleaned my downstairs hallway today. And put lights on the front door *they keep falling down) The cobweb above the little window was phenomenal. Funny how deciding we're not doing christmas has made me feel able to cope with the cleaning. Of course it is open to debate whether I'll clean up the stairs and the upstairs hallway too. Also amazing is how tiny the catalogue/phone directory pile is now I've been through it and recycled the out of date ones.

I am hoping the conservatory men come and fix the leak soon so I can decorate the tree.

Are any of your DCs big teletubbies fans? I have a green teletubby back pack bag type thing DD "won" at my BIL's party, she has forgotten about it, so it's free to a good home, any takers?

Report
Sputnik · 15/12/2008 20:31

No, I'm here.
Not to put anyone off or anything, but this teletubby thing had a label (in Spanish) that said "non toxic, non radioactive, and non infectious"

I don't let jamlet watch the TTs, but thanks for the offer.

How are you, anyway? Did I hear you are coming to the UK for Christmas or am I imagining that?

Report
Sputnik · 15/12/2008 20:39

I don't think mine have ever seen tts either, they just watch DVDs carefully selected by me, I am really intolerant.
Yes, I'll be in UK for xmas, we're leaving on sunday

Report
HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 15/12/2008 20:47

Oh jamlet sees a bit of this and that, but no more of the TTs than the time it takes me to find the tv remote if I turn it on at the set and they are on (can only turn on and off from the set, need the remote to change channel).

I'd love to stop and chat but am dead on my feet. Lack of sleep coupled with the beginnings of a cold does not a happy daisy make. Have had some chinese ginger tea with a good slug of whisky in it....and might have another before I go to sleep

Have expressed over 5ozs for DH to do the next feed and I've been ordered to bed!

lol at your mum jammy; I think those of advancing years, like small children, feel the need to fill silence with noise; regardless of how pointless that noise is

I wish we had cbeebies here.
Italian children's tv is truely dire.

Daisy, sorry you're not feeling so well. Hope you get some rest

I'm off for a bath though. Having my hair done tomorrow and don't want to turn up with skanky unwashed hair

No thanks sputnik. I have a giant purple one hiding in the cupboard. the green one was always the best dancer!

take it easy daisy.

my studying tonight got as far as putting my folder on the table. DS2 finally went to sleep at 10, I am trying to anaesthetise (sp?) my throat with wine. It is not working (I don't like whisky, but I need to get to like it)

just watching Nigella, and wondering, while obviously she is great, why she has to be quite so smug, well presented and appealing.

Report
Ohforfoxsake · 15/12/2008 22:52

what's wrong with the teletubbies then?

Report
GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 15/12/2008 22:57

sorry to go on, but why does she have to do stuff in the dark, in her PJs, with squirty cream? That is just asking for trouble...

Do you remember when the Teletubbies were big in nightclubs? DHs gay head chef at the time was a massive fan of Laalaa.
