Hi all, just nipping on to wish everyone a happy new year before i head off to bed!

Congrats on the chatterboxes among the dc's. Dd is still mainly babbling, though has a few recognisable words ('no' being her favourite ). She is also the worlds worst wriggler - she can't stay still for more than 2 seconds - drives me insane when she comes into bed in the mornings for a cuddle with me, dh and ds.

Ds slept in his cot for the first time last night, and my NY resolution is to get him into some kind of bedtime routine sooner rather than later! I want my evenings back!!!!

Good luck Tbelle... Looking forward to hearing about the safe delivery of your babies!

I just bought an outfit for myself today for dd and ds's christening, on 11th Jan. I finally came to the conclusion that there is no way I'm going to lose my excess 3.5 stone in the next 11 days! Another NY resolution I suppose....

Hope you all have a great NYE . Here's hoping 2009 is a great year for us all.

Happy New Year Everyone

I am very tired. DS is going through a phase of wanting to play at 4am. We have spent a few days at my parents and he has picked up a lot of words and now won't sleep as he wishes to talk to people.

Currently he is saying things like 'daddy mummy busy want milk' or 'no nana want cake' or 'piggle on telly' or 'fire hot ouch'.
It's quite cute. At least it's easier knowing what he wants now.
Also he points at EVERYTHING and tells me what it is - I had heard from someone that he was a late talker but he seems to have caught up now, I think he probably knows about 100 words maybe.
Not so much when he started saying arsehole (oops )

Also he has learnt to spin - cue much dizziness, falling over and mess.

He starts at new nursery next week as we are in the process of moving.

Cooked thai banquet yesterday - chicken massaman, beef and aubergine red curry, pad thai, garlic and pepper pork, chicken penang and stir fry veg for the folks. Was very pleased when my father complimented me on the spring rolls, wantons and prawn rolls. Which I did not make. Awesome.

DS is awake, bye, have a good day all!

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 01/01/2009 08:33

Happy New Year everyone!!
TB, hope you are snuggled up with your new babes and all is well.
We just made it to midnight. Our colds had us desparate for bed by 11.40, but I insisted we keep the radio on to listen to the chimes. Then the pub near us had a fab firework display, which I could see from my bed - cool Then thankfully Jamlet slept in this morning, so didn't have to get up until 7.50

happynewRia · 01/01/2009 08:53

happy new year!

thanks for the text daisy, sorry I didn't respond - I was already in bed. My evening really began at 8pm with the first round of fireworks and DS2 howling in fright. I did get a brief respite when they stopped to be thrashed at bowling by ds2.
baggins woke with his cough around 11.30. DH got in around 1am, he left DS1 £1.50 in the tips pot!

am a bit tired today, don't really fancy going out.

Have a great day everyone.

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 01/01/2009 09:28

Hello all

Fury, banquet sounds fab. Penang is one of my favourites. Hope you have a happy new year.

DD spins around to, tis very funny. Know what you mean about having to point and name everything! What amazes me though is not how much she says but how much she understands, like if I give her something and tell her to give it to daddy, or where is XXX she goes and finds it. She doesn't say any phrases though she say something that sounds like "wissit?" meaning where is it?

Ekka, glad DS is in his cot. Good luck for their christening.

Jammy I was thinking about DD not walking yet and was wondering if it was to do with her being premature? What's her adjusted age? Glad you had a good night though.

Fireworks didn't wake DD, though they did wake me (was in bed at 11am) then the stupid bitch upstairs stomped around for half an hour at 3am. Seriously, she must literally be stomping to make that sort of noise. Twat. Fortunately DD didn't wake up till 8.50! Brilliant!

Hello ria, sorry you are tired.

We are going to some friends this arvo, and this morning I am going to make spicy parsnip soup!

happynewRia · 01/01/2009 09:39

hey bumper, was just thinking about you whilst washing up (no offence intended). MY DH has to apply for something called "Better off in Work Credit" (or something). Do you know if your DH qualifies for it? Might be worth a look?

Wish DH was here today we should be duck-racing.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 01/01/2009 10:05

She's only 1 month prem, Bumper, so should still be walking by now. She cruises very well though and loves walking holding hands. I think it's a confidence thing. But think I will ask the HV about it next week.

We are going for lunch today (we did it last NYD and have decided it is a good tradition) and then for a walk. I want to get walking again and have asked DH to do some with me, so we are going to make a small start today.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 01/01/2009 10:06

And I am also amazed by how much she understands, even though she's not saying much, if anything.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 01/01/2009 10:21

oh my gosh i have had a hectic week, sorry for disapearing on you ladies.
i had a scan yesterday, because i was sure that i was too big for what my crap local hospital reckoned i was in the dating scan i had.
turns out i am 12 weeks not 10+2 and that my dates HAD been right
so anyway i made it to 12 weeks which is a fantastic new years pressie.
we were talking about going on holiday this year, have decided to take the kids for a long weekend to chessington in april, when i wont be to big to waddle about. dont much fancy a holiday in the summer just after having a baby

how is everyone else? what have i missed? there is WAY to many posts to read so give me the high lights

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 01/01/2009 10:26

Jammy, while DD did the whole walking from scratch thing, two of my friend's babies wouldn't walk without holding hands and did so for months so that when they actually did start walking (I think you are right it was a confidence thing) they were off in a flash and never looked back! That sounds like the Jamlet.

Ria, I'm not sure about that. DH has a job now so I assume he wouldn't be entitled to anything. It is only temporary at the moment though, he will probably have to reapply for it in a few months.

LittleMissNorty · 01/01/2009 10:48

Morning all and Happy New Year

Hope all is well Tallulah

Went to my Sisters last night and played games on PS3, ate too much and sat around chatting.....lovely evening....got to bed at 1.30am...

DD slept in till 9.30am

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 01/01/2009 10:52

indeed Norty.
And congrats, Natty

happynewRia · 01/01/2009 10:56

great news natty.

bumper, it is a thing for people who get jobs (but you have to provide 4 weeks payslips to apply, so by the time you get it you don't need it as much anymore), it might be for long-term unemployed? (you will get a fecking job cos we'll pay you to!)

must go get ready for dsis's

DS1 has his fecking attitude on today (I'm sure there is a connection) If I get through the day without slapping him it will be a miracle and such a shame after he was so nice yesterday can't wait for DH to get home...

have a great day everyone. enjoy your walk jammy - that's what we're doing too. (can you link that on-line pedometer/street map thingy again soon please?)

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 01/01/2009 11:02

here Ria. You need to hit the "other options" link to get UK.

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 01/01/2009 12:12

Ria, looks like the better off in work thing is a pilot scheme oop north! Not national yet and you have to have been on benefits for 26 weeks. We are part of that awkward middle group, not well off enough to live comfortably but not poor enough to get any help! I guess it's our choice to work part time though so we should just put up and shut up!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 01/01/2009 13:53
