Hello all

Lucky you Jammy

Congrats on the birth-date Norty

All this Moldies stuff is mad! Now its in the Telegraph. DP has only just learnt about MN, so hope he doesn't get wind of it or he'll think I'm part of the madness (he does not have much of a grasp of the world of the internet forum).
Righto, Weightwatchers online HERE I COME!

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 29/12/2008 13:54

why would anyone care? we might make it onto Have I got news for you!

Yup, slimming world soonish foxy. apparently there are new rules though

I finally got dressed about 20 mins ago (have been doing laundry in my PJs all morning)

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 29/12/2008 14:16

Have just loaded some xmas pics onto FB.

We opened the rest of jamlet's presents with her last night. Our living room is now plastic central! She loved is though. We also bought her a couple of toys in the sale at Boots yesterday so she has loads to play with now. We got loads of clothes for us and her in the sale too, and plenty of stuff from Lush, and DH got a pile of DVDs from Woolies all half price. So loads spent but loads saved too, and not too much spaving even

Must start sorting my weight out v.soon too. Didn't have a good autumn and ballooned rather . So next week it's a good dose of self control and hopefully I can reverse things somewhat.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 29/12/2008 15:38

Yes, it's Penrith jammy, I'll find out for you; it would be lovely to meet and eat cake

We only took about three photos on Christmas morning; none of them very good . We were too ill and knackered.

My throat has started clearing up, but I have a streaming nose and sore chest now

The article in the telegraph is the same article as published in the mail (sister papers?) and the SIndie one has been regurgitated in, of all thing, the New Zealand Herald! MN goes global

The battle is still raging, with a few good mad souls trying to keep a bit of perspective/referee

just back from an hours amble round the village - DH had to stay at work and wash up instead of coming home for a break. I put batteries in baggins ELC buggy driver and he loves it

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 29/12/2008 20:25

quiet tonight

goodbyes done

so, I will lose weight before they get back and make them proud. Is it do-able to drop at least 1 dress size in 2 months??? and will try to get baggins to say more than "ish" (keys, shoes, socks) and "bah"

Ohforfoxsake · 29/12/2008 20:30

ahh, for you Ria.

Yes you could drop a dress size in a month, but you'd have to exercise like mad I reckon.

I'm going to lose a stone by May (because that's when my gym membership runs out).

Can I freeze cheese? I've got two cheeseboards unopened. Seems a shame to bin them.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 29/12/2008 20:35

We had Irish cheese at Xmas at my ILs. They went to Ireland in the summer and have had it in the freezer.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 29/12/2008 20:35

dsis was freezing cheese the other day when I rang. does it say on the packet? I would say you can but I don't eat cheese so I'm not certain, and DH isn't here so I can't ask him.

I intend to exercise like mad to fill in the time when I'm not reading my new books. No need to do housework for 2 months now

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 29/12/2008 20:52

Getting excited now. Going to the Doctor Who exhibition at Earls Court tomorrow - one of my presents to DH.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 29/12/2008 21:44

You can freeze cheese, but like a lot of forzen things, it loses part of it's flavour and texture in the defrosting process.

Much better idea is to make up lots of lovely cheese sauce and freeze it in family sized portions.

what cheeses norty? I used to work in a farmhouse cheese shop and we had lots of Irish cheeses.....they were, for the most part, fab, but there were a couple that were so strong I couldn't eat them.

From the "british Cheeseboard" website, "the portal for all things British Cheese related", lol

  1. Is it safe to freeze cheese?

Most cheeses do not freeze well although Stilton will keep in a freezer for up to three months wrapped in foil or cling film. Allow it to defrost in the fridge overnight before serving. Other cheeses can be frozen but on defrosting they may become rather crumbly. However, although the texture will be altered, they should still taste good.

had some bad news today

I exchange Christmas cards with a woman I used to work with years ago........nearly 17 to be exact. I didn't get a card this year, which is unusual, but sent one out to her and her husband. I got a wee card from her husband this morning telling me that she died of skin cancer earlier this year . So so sad, and I wish that we had been more in touch recently as she was a truly lovely person who had a huge heart.

Here's wishing you a good night Daisy

Ohforfoxsake · 29/12/2008 22:36

Good luck Daisy. It will change!

Well, we had a friend spend Christmas with us, who bought a cheese board, but we scoffed so much other food we never got round to it.

Plus I have a pack from M&S as part of their Dine in for a Tenner promotion, bought before Christmas. Actually same friend was round for dinner that night, and we had Gu Chocolate Souffles so never got round to the cheese.

Aren't you glad you asked?

I must say I find myself simply fascinating!
Hello? Hello? Are you still awake?

Bumperslucious · 29/12/2008 22:42

Hello my lovelies

Daisy, very sorry to hear about your friend. Hope you are feeling ok and get some sleep.

Norty, great news about your section - eek! Not long now!

Ria, have you tried the cereal lose a dress size in 2 weeks diet? Cereal for brekkie and lunch (Special K or something) then a healthy dinner.

Interesting cheese talk foxy, you should write a book on it you know

Ohforfoxsake · 29/12/2008 22:43

I thought I could have Daisy's DS2 on the other end of the phone. I'd have him to sleep in no time

Nice name Bumper!

Do Crunchy Nut Cornflakes count?

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 29/12/2008 22:51

This one is even better

Ohforfoxsake · 29/12/2008 22:54

What's going on with the moldie issue now then? Is it blowing over? Is it still bolleaux?

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 29/12/2008 23:00

it's not very erm, misleading, bumper, but funny

I could do the cereal diet when I was thinner, but not now I'm a big fat sow. mm, crunchy nut cornflakes (adds to list of things to eat before I diet...)

about your friend daisy. if it hadn't been for the christmas card though, you would never have known. take care, hope you get some sleep.

my DH & DS1 would be very of your day tomorrow jammy. are you taking jamlet? If that Peter Kaye character one is there (the green one), wave to me!

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 29/12/2008 23:01

It's descended into benign jibber jabber . For now. I think NYE will be a turning point all round.

Right off to bed. How were your SS choccies btw?
