Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Typical! Blimey Ria, we don't have a MP3 player in this house (or a Wii)

Going out to buy a tropical fish tank tomorrow though (my 40th birthday present)

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 22:44

I nearly fell asleep on DMs sofa this afternoon

I am that yesterday, over the course of lunch and tea, between 6 adults we only drank 1 bottle white and 1 bottle red. I have known us sink more than that when DM&F come round for a casual tea with me and DH. (OK the DM & Dsis had been at the sherry, but still. It's christmas! I was too tired to top up my levels when I got home)

Re sales, BIL rang today to read out the whole of the Wii game section of the argos sale catalogue. I know he means well, but he could have just said they have ?% off or whatever, not x game was £30 and is now £20 or whatever. For every bloody game. (Dsis has already been looking for Wii offers on t-internet. Her kids only got DS's yesterday.)

Sorry, am waffling, but DH not interested.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 22:45

When's your birthday Norty?

Too much prosecco and chocolate here.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 22:46

play.com Ria have lots of offers on. I got Carnival games for a tenner.

Use Quidco to get cashback

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 26/12/2008 22:47

Was last month.....but the Xmas tree is where the tank is going.

Too much chocolate here as well....

We got through far less alcohol than that ria....5 cans of Stella I think - very unusual!

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 22:52

We only have a Wii thanks to the collective generousity of both sets of GPs, and a pooling of our xmas money with the DCs (apart from DHs book & dressing gown from DM&F, and my Salvation Army band CD & SW mag subscription, but there is a tiny fraction of it that belongs to me and DH)

We only have an MP3 cos they were £10 in superdrug and at that point there was no Wii, and I didn't know what else to get DS1. I don't know how to work either

I do have to confess that maybe FC got a bit carried away (I have been buying a little thing every time we've been out and seen a bargain all year, thinking it wouldn't be much of a christmas for the DCs, and it mounts up if you forget!) but as I defended myself to dsis this afternoon - After the 18 months we've had I don't actually care. Need to make the most of it while DH still working. It could all be over tomorrow, than we would be back to misery.(fingers crossed not though.)

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 22:54

will have a look foxy. DS2s b'day on the 8th and I was thinking a game aimed at him would be nice. I keep forgetting about quidco. I did sign up but haven't used it.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 22:55

Fingers crossed Ria

I should go to bed. Going to the races tomorrow.

Bumperlicious · 26/12/2008 22:57

Oooh what races Foxy?

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 22:58

definately recommend Mario Kart. DS2 loves Wii Sports, DS1 loves Mario and SOnic at the Olympics.

I'd get them pre-owned though.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 22:58

Gone back to your old name already?! Tis still Christmas you know!

Kempton, tis a big race day

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 23:00

I'm all for pre-owned.

Pah. DH playing Wii on his own now. And I'm trying to talk birthday treats for the boys with him. Daisy - have you been to Diggerland (15-fecking-quid each)? And was thinking Yorkdig for DS1. But DH not listening.

Yes, what races foxy?

Bumperlicious · 26/12/2008 23:00

Your course sounds fab btw Ria. I'd love to do OU but can't afford it. When I get more time I might see if I can persuade work to pay for a 'work related' course. I would love to do International Relations or Economics or Politics something.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 23:00

Will you be on TV in a hat?

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 23:02

mine was free because of state-scroungery bumper. I think it will be the last one I do finance-wise.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 23:02

Nah, I'll be dragging a baby in a buggy and 3 kids around Bit cold for a picnic, but we are hardcore

Bumperlicious · 26/12/2008 23:03

Yup, I'm ready for the New Year and The New Me (again).

Right, off to bed. Enjoy the gee gees foxy. You ever come up this way for the races?

Daisy, hope you have a good night. You need it.

Night all x

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 26/12/2008 23:04

FC got a bit carried away here as well ria....but so what! Next year I'll be on mat leave and have an extra mouth to feed! As you say, sometimes, you have to live for today!

right off to bed...night all x

enjoy the races Foxy

Hope you get LOTS of sleep Daisy.....

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 23:04

winter picnics are the best. we were meant to be picnicing today and NYD if DH hadn't been working. Dsis invited me and the boys for NYD though, so won't bother borrow DMs car.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 26/12/2008 23:06

I am off to get pissed to bed shortly too. DH asked me to play shooting with him.

Night all. Win loads of cash foxy! Pick the dappled grey with the nice name.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 23:09

It will be cold and the girls are ill. We'll see how we go.

DD1 bit a big hole in her tongue today when she tripped up the stairs. Poor mite

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 23:10

I will Ria! Thanks for the tip (will no doubt do better than any of DPs!)

I'm off then, or I will be on here, alone and drunk with my chocolate-induced headache

night all

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 23:11

oh, one last thing

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 27/12/2008 09:57

morning

tidying (and cleaning mould off the bathroom ceiling today) DM&F are coming over tomorrow for a drink before they go away on Tuesday.

So I will probably Mnet all day

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 27/12/2008 10:54

morning

sorry for my self indulgent nonsense last night...sleep deprivation, illness and half a bottle of wine are not a winning combination .

Feeling much better this morning, but all your lovely messages have got me crying again

I was in bed by 10:30 last night and DH kept bumble downstairs (with a 7oz bottle) until 3am, then he fed, went straight to sleep and that was him until just after 8am, so I have had the BEST night's sleep since I was about 4 months pregnant and funnily enough life isn;t seeming quite so bleak this morning. That and the fact that Dd is off to her GPs and the big boys are off fishing, so it's just me, a sleeping bumble, MN and Saturday Kitchen. And I can swallow without crying in pain today.....could it get any better than this?

DH is grudgingly admitting that the Wii is "quite good fun". Might convert him into a games geek eventually!!

Ria, you and your boys most certainly deserve a bit of frippery and luxury after all you've been through. I'm liking your idea of buying bits through the year though. I will deffo be doing that this year....likewise I'm thinking that if we had the storage space, we should buy kitchen units and new sofas now while everything is dirt cheap as I doubt things will ever get to this state again (DH being the cynic that he is thinks things will get worse so we will get much cheaper kitchen bargains in a few months time )

foxy, enjoy the races.

bumper, I too am aiming for the New Year, New Me effect. 2stone (plus) to lose and a shot pelvic floor and stomach muscle to mend (size 16s too tight round the tum, but hanging off my arse, and the slip I had on under my frock on Christmas day ended up under my boobs as I have NO waist...not a good look)

norty, how long now? are you booked in for a CS again? or have you decided to give VBAC a go? either way, instant relief from heartburn . Glad you had a lovely Christmas......but you need a Wii!!
