GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 23/12/2008 23:06

I think fairy was making something.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 23/12/2008 23:10

I think I'm going to turn off for the night now. Am seriously knackered, but at least FC won't go in DS2/3s room and think he's been here already. Glass of wine, river cottage/cone dine with me, then bed I think. Busy day tomrrow!

At the end of MR & Mrs Smith, do you think they die in that store shoot-out and the counselling is flashback? Or do they get out? Is not a film I like, but DH was watching and I have wondered for a while

Night x

TALLULAHBELLE · 23/12/2008 23:17

Confused about Moldies - what does that mean?

Re baby names:thought Megan was Scottish but could be Welsh - defo Celtic origin. Catriona Scottish too (both are on my list but DH has vetoed everything on my list for one reason or another). He thinks Heather is an old lady name too. Better hope for boys then, at least we have names although Daisy pinched mine showed remarkable good taste in choosing the name I have picked for her DS.

Best of luck in your new home Fairy. Will be a great start to the new year. You too Natty.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 23/12/2008 23:34

Do Scots call their DDs Isla/Iona? All old-people names have to make a comeback sooner or later! Does DH have suggestions of his own? BTW, it wasn't Heather that got commments on another thread, it was my DS3s name.

just watching celebrity come dine with me. well funny!

I am not really here

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 24/12/2008 07:31

lol tallulah; there's more than enough room for another Finlay in the world

what about Siobhan or Mharai?

Taking the Nipper out for a test run today; I'm expecting big things of it...not least the shopping basket as there is no way I'm driving to the supermarket; it'll be pandemonium.

right, off to build the pram up and get organised.

Any ideas for converting a nocturnal baby into a normal one? Bumble was awake from about 10pm until 3am and then up for a feed again at 6.30

foxy, I have resolved my burning boob; it was the beginnings of blocked ducts, prolly due to me missing a day of expressing....that'll teach me to forget go cold turkey!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 24/12/2008 08:52

fits through a standard door, my arse!!
I've just built up the nipper and then had to take the wheels off to get it out of the dining room, and I'm going to have to do the same to get it out of the house!

just taken delivery of a Mamas and Papas Aria with car seat this morning. Beginning to wonder where we are going to store all of these!

Ohforfoxsake · 24/12/2008 10:36

Arse Daisy for the buggy, but yay for the resolution of your burning breast issue

I like old-lady names T! My girls have middle old-lady names. Infact, their first names are quite old-deary too.

Its Christmas Eve! Yay! And everything is done, there's nothing to do but take it easy. It is very unnerving!

All that Moldie stuff is shite. (MN-Oldies, Tallulah, went off and formed another group and you have to be invited, seconded, voted in from what I can tell.) People feel left out, snubbed, and that the Oldies who have left have forgotten about the love and support received by MN.

Personally I think its a bit off, and that MN misses those familiar names. It makes it all more anonymous, which is a shame, but other names will become 'Oldies' and take their places in time. I don't really care that much TBH!

BTW, I peaked Even my children haven't had a look at theirs yet, but I couldn't help myself

Yep, I just realised I've been here for 4 years, and this is the 3rd xmas on this thread!
Pressies all wrapped here too, I might make some (more) mince pies in a bit.
I'm near Abergavenny Butterfly, and it's not actually sunny. Pretty mild though.

justbeme · 24/12/2008 16:36

Hello all - just to say Happy Xmas to you all - hope you've all been good and Santa brings you what you asked for!!

Have been cleaning all day as have parents arriving on boxing day for 3 days.
Also have to work tomorrow 17-2300hrs!! Boohoo!!!

Will try and catch up at some point.
Love to you all!!

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 24/12/2008 19:32

Just to say Happy Xmas to you all xx

I've made 4 dozen mince pies, 2 dozen sausage rolls, cooked a turkey, leg of lamb and joint of beef and I'm knackered. Now cooking a curry for tea then putting together pressies.

Have good times everyone

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 24/12/2008 19:50

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 24/12/2008 20:39

Just briefly (as still have wrapping, hoovering, kitchen & bathroom to clean, and kids to get to bed) popping by to wish you all a very happy day tomorrow.

No doubt I will be back either tonight or tomorrow night tipsy full of christmas cheer.

I think it is my 2nd Mnet xmas. I joined in new year I think.

Must get on. Am of norty and foxy being so organised. Will have to give church a miss too I think.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 24/12/2008 20:40

I did cook the ham and make a ginger loaf that I dropped (DS2 said bugger for me)

Poor DS2 tripped in town and landed on his nose. It has a graze that will give Rudolf a run for his money!

Ohforfoxsake · 24/12/2008 21:26

Happy Christmas you lovely lot.

Each and every one of you is special to me. And I'm only on my first Baileys of Christmas

Have a lovely time xxx

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 25/12/2008 00:59

Just sneaking back before stockings and bed. I'm only on my 2nd glass of wine

All wrapped up, at least an hour earlier than usual. Didn't go to church though, and missed nearly all of it on TV too. Never mind. There's always next year!

As it's officially christmas I have opened my secret santa perzzie (mainly so I don't have to explain to the kids how I have a really good friend I've never met), and I would like to say THANK YOU, it is so lovely and the sort of thing I would covet but never buy myself, so thank you thank you thank you.

and ditto what foxy said.

have a happy day.

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 25/12/2008 01:14

my children keep waking up. I can't do the bloody stockings and go to bed.

watching Alan Titchmarsh on tv replay.

night all.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 25/12/2008 12:39

Merry Christmas everyone

DD woke up at 8am and was as good as gold and loved her pressies - esp ITNG stuff.

She is in bed having a nap, everything ready for lunch and am about to go and turn the oven on....

Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday

I'm afraid I suffer from Boxing Day misery. DH just gone to work (and he's taken the car so I can't take the boys to the forestry like I planned). I am SO tired from yesterday. DM gave me enough leftovers for a couple of years so won't have to cook at least.

The boys loved the Wii and even granny and grandad had a go! Baggins was gorgeous and sat up and ate like a sweetie, he sat for ages on his trike saying "brrm", and he kissed the chocolates in his stocking Such a lovely day, such a shame it's over.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 26/12/2008 10:44

daisy, i know SS is supposed to be just that.. secret.. but thought id mention that although ive MADE ur pressie.. i didnt get to the post office in time, will be sending it asap.. sorry for delay, everything here is chaos, to be honest ive only just found which box i'd packed it in

TALLULAHBELLE · 26/12/2008 15:48

Hi Everyone - hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday. All the very best.

Ohforfoxsake · 26/12/2008 16:04

Thank you to my secret santa for my pressie Whoever sent it knows me pretty well (Rachel Allens Bake book - one of my favs, box of Gordon Ramsey's chocs and a Lush soap bar! Very generous ). But I still have no idea who you are, but its perfect and I love it!

Hi Tallulah, hope you are OK.

Today I am mostly playing Mario Kart Wii. Its great!

LO has head to toe pin-prick rash. Well otherwise (a bit grouchy but no temperature). Any ideas? Viral rash? a little bit raised. She did have a sip or two of fizz yesterday (fblush). She kept grabbing my glass. Could it be that?
