Oh that looks fab Jammy.

Dh just rung ....hasn't drunk anything and is driving home and bringing in a kebab....I'm completely gobsmacked.....last time he went out "for a quick drink"....I spent half the night cleaning the bathroom

Must want seeing to....

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 19/12/2008 19:51

I did consider ordering in....but they all have minimum spends.....

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 19/12/2008 20:00

Well hoorah for your DH!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/12/2008 20:12

I can normally spend up to their minimum on just me Norty . On the pretence of lunch the next day, or for when DP comes home pissed.

That looks great Jammy! Am very . It crossed my mind to go, but I think I'd have a mutiny on my hands if I planned anything. They are all in need of a day off!

Panto was great! Proper, traditional panto.

And I cried during the opening number.

which was Footloose

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 19/12/2008 20:18

And I am of your panto. Can't wait until jamlet is old enough to take.

OK, presents to wrap and bags to pack for our day out tomorrow...

GloooooooooooooooooooRia · 19/12/2008 20:35

just got in from an xmas tea party for the kids at Dsis's house. it was lovely. And I bought her a Tesco finest xmas foliage bouquet for just over £3 from the reduced section (£10 for a bunch of leaves???)

her decorations put mine to shame though (she has actually got some. Really must do it this weekend)

Hope you are OK daisy.

Holly, about benefits. it fecking stinks. they had to give us a crisis loan in the end with DH not getting paid when he left his job and then the claim taking over 8 weeks. don't feel bad about claiming though, that's what it's for. How come XW gets extra for prezzies? I think DHs Ex used to too, but I thought that was a church handout. Stinks you can't get CT benefit too butterfly.

Must get these over-sugared kids to bed, so I can do something. Might start with my assessment

DS2s teacher lives at the end of our street and she dropped by on her way home with his xmas cards and stuff

Ohforfoxsake · 19/12/2008 20:41

Yep, you pay into the system exactly for times like these Holly. You will pay into it again. Don't worry about it

Jammy, LO loved it! she was bopping along, and not scared or freaked out. Infact, we took DD1 when she was 1.1 and she sat through a panto entranced. So, if you want to take her, do it! Perhaps a local one?

Hope Daisy is OK.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 19/12/2008 21:07

Interesting thread for those of you who post across the board

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 19/12/2008 21:07

helloo

I'm allright. Have pulled the ligament but not torn it so no lasting damage done. similarly my hip is just badly bruised no damage done to bones. why it happened is anyones guess but most likely connected to the SPD as my left leg is really weak and keeps buckling under me. If it doesn't get better with physio, or keeps happening I've to go and see my GP. I'm all aches and pains though and mainlining paracetomol and nurofen...hey ho.

anyhoo, my wrist is really sore so not sure I will get my SS pressie finished to go in the post on Monday, however I have a suitable (non hand-made ) substitute to hand.

you lot look like you have been chatty....off to catch up now as DS has collapsed asleep on DH's lap.

Good news Daisy! But sorry you are still battered and bruised.

I've been keeping up with that one, makes interesting reading.

It was a toss up between cracking open the Quality Street for tea, or a chinese take away.

Chinese should be here any minute.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 19/12/2008 21:19

Glad you're OK Daisy, and that your aches and pains don't last too long.

I'm off for the night though, going to do a bit of puzzling and a bath. Night all.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 19/12/2008 21:23

Rocking night for you Jammy

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 19/12/2008 21:24

Glad you are ok daisy

Ohforfoxsake · 19/12/2008 21:27

Rocking night in Norty household I believe. If DP bought me a kebab home, he'd be getting lucky too

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 19/12/2008 21:30

It'd take more than a kebab for me, I tell ya!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/12/2008 21:32

aye, but you are a classy bird Bumper

KFC Zinger burger?

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 19/12/2008 21:43

Nah, a meatball sub from Subway and I might put out a little...

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 19/12/2008 21:44

If dp wanted to get lucky he'd have to bring me a litre bottle of plain Baileys and a 70cl bottle of mint. Fuck food I could live on a liquid diet of Baileys.

Glad you are ok daisy, sounds nasty though. Hope you can get some rest over the weekend and heal a bit.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/12/2008 21:50

bit about the mint baileys. Or the creme caramel one. Bit like messing around with a Terry's Chocolate orange. It just needs to be chocolate and orange.

How's things Holly? Nice to have you back

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 19/12/2008 21:56

I'll pass on the mint baileys ta holly. would curdle with the red wine I have had already

bumper...wtf is that thread about? Talk about playground politics.....didn't someone mention looking for a site that was populated by intelligent women?

I mostly post here and on my Nov thread these days so the rest of it is all just passing me by, although my wonderings of "where has soandso got to these days?" has been answered I suppose!

OP posts:
deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 19/12/2008 21:56

Mint Baileys is yum, not very minty, just a teeny hint. Like Marlboro methol cigs...still taste like Marlboro Lights, just with a hint of minty freshness!! God I could do with a fag!

I am fine, was shitting myself until today that our housing benefit wasn't going to go through due to parents being landlords, but it went through this morning, so we are going to be ok. I've been a bit stressed about it all, but am feeling better now. I've missed you guys and foxy you are lovely and I love you!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/12/2008 21:59

...

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 19/12/2008 22:00

I don't post anywhere else, can't be arsed. Every thread I post on ends up a complete bitch fest, so I don't bother. There may be some intelligent women on MN, but they all think they, and only they, are right and no-one else has a valid opinion. You guys are brillo and I think I'll stay here in my nice cosy June'07 nest thanks very much!

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 19/12/2008 22:02

I love the rest of mumsnet, but I'm a 'joiner' and I like to be liked all round!

Love you guys the best though

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 19/12/2008 22:10

Yes, we are the best aren't we?!
