Hello all,

had a lovely day yesterday meeting up with LMB in Bournemouth. Coby is so gorgeous and particularly enjoyed a chasing game with my DD. We went to the aquarium and generally had a lovely time!

I'd like to add my thanks to LOM too

Have a nice weekend xx

LittleMissBliss · 06/06/2009 20:36

Evening all,

I had a really lovely day with Jetgirl and her two very sweet dc's, i am very much looking forward to Coby having a sibling to play with in October now!
It was lovely to put a face to the mumsnetter too!

Jet i must say you are so much fitter than me, i got home and had to have a long soak my muscles were aching from pushing ds up those hills to the train station. I am SO unfit! Must walk more...

Hope you have all had a good day,

The down pour hasn't made it to Poole yet. Hope it stays that way.

Loopy - when we visit my brother in plymouth i'll let you know, we're long overdue a trip to the southwest!

LMB - when I got home I felt bad that I'd let a pregnant woman walk up that huge hill to the station, I should have insisted we find a bus

littleoldme · 08/06/2009 12:11

Febes - Glad you liked the bunny. I thought Reuben might enjoy chewing his ears.

Love to one and all. I have to go and tackle the exam papers now. MWAH.

Jet- don't be silly the exercise did me good!

I've just spent the morning making lemon curd and meringues as we have so many eggs, allot of our friends keep chickens so we are forever getting free eggs.

Poor ds cut the corner of his eye yesterday, on a plate of all things... it was a timing issue. I was rising from the floor with a plate turning toward the kitchen (i had been eating toast on the lounge floor) He was running towards me and the edge of the plate and his head made impact. poor lad. I took him to the dr.s and the nurse taped him up. dreading taking the tape off tomo...

It's a miserable day here today and i'm really tired. Fell asleep yesterday at 8.30pm.
Not sure what to do with ds as i can't be motivated to do anything. Can't face any more baking too messy. ho hum better enjoy his nap whilst it lasts.

Hope you are all having a good day.

Febes · 09/06/2009 13:39

I love lemon curd. We have had 14 eggs since we got the hens last monday so if they keep laying like that I will be making lots of lemon curd!!

Anabel has taken ownership of the bunny along with the other toys Rueben has been given. Poor second child.

Its my first day on my own today with both DCs. Mum has gone on a tour of Europe with Dad and my aunty. Its gone quite well so far I took them to the library for rhyme time this morning. We are getting our bath resurfaced today which is really noisy and smelly so I had to put Anabel to sleep in the push chair which took a while. Luckily DH popped home for lunch to give me a bit of sanity.

RGPargy · 09/06/2009 20:34

mmmmm lemon curd!!! I love it too!

Nothing much to report this end. DD is really come on in leaps and bounds with sing and sign. It was quite sweet as yesterday we were reading a book and she saw a mouse in it. She pointed to it and said "mouse" (more like "mo" but i knew what she meant) and did the sign for mouse. It was so sweet and even DP was impressed!!

Febes - hope you are coping well with your new bundle of squishiness.

LMB - Hope DS's eye heals quickly, poor lamb!

Loopy - I wish i would get spotted! Mind you, i dont go anywhere much to get spotted hehe!! What sling were you wearing at the time?

LMB/Jet - glad you had a lovely day in Bournemouth.

Off to put the kettle on. Cup of tea time i think!

Hi guys, long time no speak but been feeling very tired and got an annoying cough that won't go away. You all sound very active, I am exhausted just reading about your busy days! Adam is having a lovely long nap...spoke too soon! x

littleoldme · 11/06/2009 18:49

Hi all -
T has spent the afternnon running around in nothing but his socks whilst enthusiastically waving a stick of rhubarb - life feels quite surreal

OP posts:
Febes · 11/06/2009 19:52

I'm making a rhubarb crumble tomorrow as our rhubarb is growing loads. Yum.

Greedygirl · 12/06/2009 12:35

LOL LOM! They love getting naked don't they! I can see how a stick of rhubarb could make one very happy at that age.

Adam is so funny at the mo, for the first time yesterday he kept doing something (a little naked jig) because he realised he was making me laugh.

jetgirl · 12/06/2009 17:18

Greedy and LOM - the naked dances are so funny, William thinks it's hilarious to run away as soon as I've taken his clothes off when I'm getting him ready for bed or dressed in the morning, he then climbs on our bed and falls back onto the pillows squealing with laughter. He also likes showing off his belly to strangers

febes - I love rhubarb crumble, send some this way please!

I'm amazed as William has jest eaten a whole banana. This probably doesn't sound exciting to you lucky people with children who eat normally, but this is brilliant for William. We are a week into no booby during the day and it's definitely getting easier. He still asks for it but seems happy enough with food, cow's milk or water instead. It's a good job really as I'm going to stay with my granny this weekend, catching the train this evening and back on Sunday. I'm having a day in Cambridge on Saturday meeting with other Latin teachers and using my granny in Esher as a hotel! I'll take her out for lunch on Sunday as a thank you.

Hope you all have lovely weather like we've had here and a nice weekend too!

Loopy - that's scarey stuff about the car seats isn't it!! Have replied on the sling thread.

Nothing to report here, other than DD being very clever and coming on in leaps and bounds with both her signing and her speech!! (but then i would say that, wouldn't i? )

Will post more later - DD's bedtime is overdue.

TTFN!

Loopy- no booby is going well, William has almost stopped asking for it in the day now, and is happy with his bedtime and morning feeds. That info on car seats is really interesting, my friend has a six month old and is desperate to put her in a forward facing seat so she can give her car seat to her sister. When we wanted to move Hannah into the forward facing the man in the shop told us not to buy a new seat as she would fit in hers for a while longer and it was safer. He had worked for Ford and knew a lot about car seat safety. She stayed in it until she was nearly 2 but then her legs were just too long to face backwards! We were told to put her forwards when her head started to reach the very top of her rear facer which seemed logical advice. Britax in Andover make a rear facing seat for toddlers but only sell it in Sweden! Seems mad to me!
Hope your day improves

RGPargy · 16/06/2009 20:54

Loopy - it's a shame you never got around to learning babysign. I have found it really useful with DD!

If it's any consolation, DD has also been whingey for the last couple of days. She too woke up and was whingey for aaaages, just laying with me on our bed crying for no apparent reason. Then before bed she did too really toxic poos that were pale in colour and curdled milk looking (sorry for TMI!). Hope she isn't coming down with something serious. Am assuming she's just a tummy bug and/or is teething (again!). Oh, erm... sorry for rambling OT there! But yes, i sympathise. I hope your day improved from this morning!

Jet - That's mad about Britax, isn't it. It has made me think about DD's safety now, although i'm not sure how her sanity would fare if she were to be facing the back of a car seat again after spending months of looking out the window etc!!

We put DP's van up for sale last night on the Autotrader website and by 6.30pm tonight it was sold!! It was the first phone call we'd received about it too! We've got another 2 weeks left to run on the web advert plus it's going in the magazine on Monday so goodness knows how many more calls we'll get about it. Still, we've got a wad of cash burning a hole in (MY) pocket for a while!

Blimey!!! £270 for that seat?!!! We dont have isofix anyway so it looks like it's not an option for us. Nevermind re your broken booby rule. Tomorrow is another day!
