she is isnt she? and so lovely at the moment. having her is the best thing ever.

missnat - we moved dd at six months to the day. i do know exactly what you mean tho re not wanting to part company yet. if dh hadnt felt strongly, dd would have been with us a good while longer. however it was wonderful reclaiming the bedroom. tho' be warned... i was preg within 3 weeks .

Hello. I've added DS as I joined on the post natal thread, hope that's ok.

Wow, can't believe that we are having 1st birthdays, congratulations Ginger and Toby. Egg, not long to go now, better get planning

There have been loads of posts today so I'm going to have a flick through and post again.

rozzyraspberry · 07/01/2009 20:44

Ok I have just lost a huge message. So in brief....

SB - lovely piccies. Hope the sleeping continues to improve.

Happy belated birthday Toby!

Good luck tomorrow Gill - it'll be ok. I went back properly today after doing a few days in December and it was ok. Just really need to build my confidence up that I do know what I am doing! Was strange sitting down all day and was soooooo quiet. And I got my summer leave authorised so I can look forward to that!

Hope twins have a good birthday Egg - hope your ds1 is just going through a phase of waking in the night and I'm sure he'll start using the toilet when he's ready.

Andrew is doing really well - went from not moving to crawling, pulling himself up and cruising within 2 weeks. Now has 4 teeth - sleeping not too bad. I stopped bf last week - I really admire people who bf for extended periods but I had had enough. Unfortunately he won't take very much formula out of a cup/bottle at all so we've substituted his evening milk with a weetabix with tonnes of milk in, and are giving him yoghurts, custards and cheese sauces to get calcium into him. I definitely wish I hadn't been too lazy to continue with giving him a bottle of ebm a couple of times a week when he was tiny. He seems to have caught ds2 chickenpox - only very mildly - he only has about 10 small spots but he's not usually spotty and they do look like chickenpox. Thought about taking him up to baby clinic yesterday, stripping him off and asking the health visitor IS IT CHICKENPOX? May not have gone down too well though....

Anyway I've spent far too long looking at computer screens today so off to watch tv instead

strawberrycornetto · 07/01/2009 20:53

Right, Swotty, really cute pictures Love the one with the ears!!

Miss Nat, I moved DS at 8 weeks. Although I love him dearly, he is the noisiest sleeper ever, including his Daddy! LOL at Swotty's quick pregnancy though!!

I havenn't really made a plan for DS's birthday yet. Like Sarah, we have loads in one go, with my mum, my brother and then DS and DH's dad on the same day, all within 2 and a half weeks. I had a biggish party for family and friends for DD's first birthday and she also had a little party with NCT friends. Do you think its really bad if we don't have a big party for DS too? I've hosted so many things in the last couple of months and I am exhausted and broke. I am thinking of having a really nice Sunday lunch with just us as a family and our other immediate family.

Gill, I really hope work goes ok tomorrow. I will be thinking of you.

Sorry if I missed anyone else.

Gill79 · 07/01/2009 20:58

MissNat we are on the verge of moving out of malc's bedroom. I feel a bit sad about it too but tbh I'll either be asleep or I'll be awake and feeding him / holding him and he'll prob end up in our bed nine times out of 10 by morning anyway! I do wish we could afford to get the french door in his room replaced with something more secure .

Love the pics swotty. What a cheeky imp!

Egg it's nice to hear you left the DCs to cry - it makes me feel much less guilty! It's just so hard to know whether what I'm doing is right or not. How long did it take them to get to sleep?

As for this mouldy stff - life is too short imo. Am so glad our thread is such a nice friendly place.

Gill79 · 07/01/2009 21:06

No problem not having a big party strawbs. He's not going to complain! I know lots of people who haven't. It's the only one you can get away with really!

I'm quite excited though and planning 2 or 3 parties! One at the weekend for families and grown-ups that will hopefully extend into the evening with some drinks and one on the actual birthday for my weekday mummy friends. Would also like to have a meal and birthday cake with my parents. Will be a lot of work but hopefully should be manageable since I'm only working one day a week and I am craving some fun and having people in the house.

strawberrycornetto · 07/01/2009 21:25

Good for you Gill.

I am also glad to be on such a friendly thread. Some of the other posters on mn are a bit scary!

Gill79 · 08/01/2009 12:58

I'm here. At work. Ooooohhhhh.

Underground sucks big time. Time for another baby!

Egg · 08/01/2009 13:28

Careful Gill.................... listen to Betty's warning! Don't let Malc sleep on his own just yet!

How's it going at work?

My two have officially dropped their morning nap it seems.

Got 2 helium balloons this morning, tied them to pushchair to bring home. One flew away on way home . Now only DD will have one . Not sure I can get back into town before Saturday.

miniandme · 08/01/2009 16:02

We're having a big party for our gruesome twosome on saturday,we've booked tumblezone( a huge softplay in the local ind est.) complete with party room from 2-4,so should be fun!! Figured their only 1 once and all our friends have 2 and 3 kids each plus our 5 so no way a family and friends thing at home would work
Jack is becoming very very domesticated and is obsessed with the dyson and the sweeping brush so guess what hes getting for his birthday lol.
Abby and Jack are in a room with their big sister whos 6,abby went in first as jack is the more unsettled at night, then after a few weeks he follwed and the 3 of them are now in the biggest room with all the toys!! They love it as she gets up and frees them from their cots in themorning and the all play together or she puts on a dvd and the twins hang over the sides of the cots watching it with her, very sweet!!!

omy · 09/01/2009 16:34

Ahhhhhhh how mice to hear all the news- (though not the ilness & toothace!) just read the last 2 pages - have been away for AGES!

Happy Birthday for tomorrow! Rebecca, Jacob, Abby & Jack!

Leila was in her own room from 6 months - though it is only the other side of the wall and I can hear her snuffling, but it helps us all sleep better.

Gill - hope work is OK and Malcy doesn't miss you tooo much!

Rozzy - I am wondering when to stop BF - did you get a 'rush of energy' when you stopped? My MIL keeps telling me that's what happens - I am just worried about the extra calories and I still enjoy the special closeness.

DH is nagging me for mumsnetting and leaving LO to crawl around unwatched - bad mummy for mumsnetting!

missnatalie · 09/01/2009 17:36

Hope you all have lovely birthdays tomorrow Rebecca & Jacob and Abby & Jack. Can not beleive our babies have been with up for almost a yr !

Ive done my exercise DVD for 3 days now and i feel great!! My ass and arms are tighter too .

If anyone else wants to join me, theres for great threads on the diesting section. I found that this websitewww.foodfocus.co.uk helped me loads too.

Have a fab weekend girlies

missnatalie · 09/01/2009 17:36

Welcome back omy

alkar · 09/01/2009 20:46

Just moved me into the right place on the list.

Started back at work properly this week, I've done 3 days now and its gone OK. DS has settled into nursery well and has stolen food from another baby and the nursery nurse already . Its all busy busy busy here, nursery provides nappies but I'm sending my re-usables in with DS, it would be so much easier if I let them use pampers on him

And happy birthday to the twins Rebecca & Jacob and Abby & Jack tomorrow

leesmum · 10/01/2009 08:13

Hope you are all having a good start to the New Year!

Belated birthday wishes for Ginger and Toby i hope you had fun xx

And a big Happy Birthday to both sets of twins for today xxx what are you all doing? i'ts very frosty here today but at least it's dry, there's no birthday parties in the garden in January!!!! i should know it's mine and twins on fri and then james' on the mon.

Swotty the pictures of the three of you are lovely i especially like Esther with her cat ears on.. brilliant! We moved ds2 into his own room at 6 months but to be honest he ends up in our bed a lot, that's something i never did with ds1 and i must get out of the habit! but sometimes it's just the easy/lazy option rather than trying to get them back off to sleep

Hi Omy how are you and the girls? x

Hi to everyone else... and what is the moldies thread all about??? i havent read any of it but there seems to be a big fuss about it all!

leesmum · 10/01/2009 08:17

And OMG look at that list..what's the rest of the gang up to i wonder? If any on you are lurking pop on and say hi and let us know all is well with you and your babies xxx
