Can someone please add "our babies" as my machine will probably blow up if I try it

Thanks VS. Actually he seems happier today already. George's 8 month birthday was yesterday, I can't believe it!

OMaLittle · 22/11/2008 09:56

HELLO GIRLS!

Thanks so much for all your thoughts, have been on holiday . Feeling so much better, I think I was just properly exhausted and my attitude to DH had got a bit skewed somewhere, feels all sorted now and he was amazing on holiday. Had a bit of a BF nightmare as my eardrum burst on day 4 (nice) and had to go on antibiotics and steroids and was told absolutely no BF (no MN!) so had to go to all FF for three days and like an idiot had left my pump at the first place we stayed so had to use this weird 'horn' pump (this kind of thing!) which worked a bit but took bloody ages and my boobs were constantly exploding. Also was hard doing sterilising and formula making-up in a hotel with no kettle and non-drinkable water! Back fully BF now although a good side-effect (I think) is that I'm now much more relaxed about the odd FF now.

Enough about me, feeling much better and thank you so much for all your support. Missed you all!

Now, haven't caught up with everything, but:

Scorpio - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Amazing, when I think of what I was up to on my 24th birthday (clue: didn't involve being an amazing mum to three/four kids). You are such an inspiration and I hope you're really proud of yourself.

PFJ - hope you're feeling better. You have had such a rough time and to be honest every time I've read your funny and upbeat comments in threads I have felt really ashamed of being so down when I have had NOTHING to worry about compared to you. Am positive your DP loves you, me and DH have had real (well-documented!) adjustment issues with both DDs and it does get better. Massive hug from me and my two monkeys (mind the snot, though).

VS - yippee, you're back, hope things are ok with you. but about Alex sleeping through! We had one night of 12-5.30 but generally the issue is a real cross awakening at 3.45 ish so will try Ellie's baby whisperer tip from tonight. Went a bit haywire with more feeds in the night when I was worried about my supply but went 10.30-8 without a feed night before last so I know she can do it.

TSC - hello, hope work trip went well. Read in the sad bf thread about you giving up, you've done so amazingly well but don't give up if you think it will make you sad.

Big hugs to everyone else, will try and catch up rest of thread now.

scorpio1 · 22/11/2008 12:46

Hi OMa so pleased you were ok, and not hiding

You sound so happy now, much better. Though at that horn thing! Would have taken ages, you must have been in pain! Although yes is good that you feel ok about dd having a bit of FF, as sometimes it may help you rest or have a break/sleep/go to the pub without having to express (yet another thing to do). Mimi friggging hates formula i tried her on some some WRT to leaving her at nursery, she will try mixed with EBM but not full FF. oh well. I can get a good feed out (about 6 oz) out in half an hour though, just laay!! Thanks for nice comment re being 24 now

It's really cold here today, going to have a lazy nothing weekend. May even have pj day tomorrow (we never normally do!!)

EllieG · 22/11/2008 19:14

'Lo all.

You will be sad to know that I think I am staying in Jersey. Though all offers are mighty tempting, my Dad has offered to let us extend his house and make 2 out of it and so we might be able to live there!

Should it not come off though, I will re-open the 'Who gets to be Ellie's next-door-neighbour' comp. Prize being me, of course.

Glad you are feeling better oma and that you had a nice birthday scorpio.

Molly STILL won't sleep. Was up loads last night, had a bit of a cough, I think is leftover mucus from cold rattling round when she lies down and she wanted water etc and little pats. Don't know what to do. Am tired. Honestly don't think can do anything differently now so will just have to wait til she stops doing it on her own. Sigh.

chipmonkey · 22/11/2008 23:04

scorpio I did a double take this evening! I thought this was your thread!

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 12:40

I have a boys name ready, lol.

VictorianSqualor · 23/11/2008 13:16

Ellie, I've poured oer about twenty different books to get A sleeping through But it worked!
Last night we had DD's birthday celebration (she is 8 tomorrow) and Alex was up until 8:30 (2 and a half hours later than normal) and we also cut his bedtime routine (no bath or late feed) and he went straight down then slept through til the normal time!!!

Scorpio, I have a boys and a girls name ready too (Benjamin - Benji/ Susannah -Suzy)

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 13:20

I'm not gonna broadcast the names

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 13:21

I have made £25 so far on ebay this weekend

VictorianSqualor · 23/11/2008 13:23

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 13:25

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 13:26

MadameOvary · 23/11/2008 13:37

Hello everyone
Havent caught up yet but DD squirming madly as I write so not sure if i'll get the chance!
FIFTH tooth is through - top three all came at once
DD eating toast now, so pleased as was terrified she'd choke, so we're on to the Organix rice cakes now,
Still a rubbish sleeper though, esp now on solids, gets very windy.

Happy Birthday Scorpio!

KnitterInTheNW · 23/11/2008 16:33

I've done nearly all my xmas shopping nd done some of my mum's for her too. I've ordered George one of these amongst other things for christmas. My mum and dad are getting him a trike with handle and harness, and in laws have got him one of these.

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 16:46

We have a frog in a box - they are so cool!

KnitterInTheNW · 23/11/2008 16:54

I know, I've bought them for all my past charges, and various other children too. I can't WAIT til christmas now! I think we;re going to a santa's grotto with one of George's friends tomorrow. Yay!

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 23/11/2008 17:01

Hello all.

Scorpio- He's going to the school. On thursday they ahd a trip to the toy museum, my friend helped and when she ogt there he was sobbing in a corner , the substitute teacher wouldnt bend over letting him take his teddy bear (they all ahd them in for a project) on the bus. Governor made them and he was OK but nobody told me until my friend did next day and I am and don't trust them.

Does mean though atm that I can neither finish my teacher training notr get a job easily as you have to be home for taxi drop off every day. No idea how we will make it financially next year, if Dh doesn't get his Uni place he'll be amde redundant anyway.

Anyway.

I have a standing baby! Yay! He's given up on crawling so much now and focusing on being upright. he also said his first word yesterday (according to dh) the very meaningful and inspired 'bang'. Was during a drumming game though.

Went to that party last night, ew did win our class but we are a bit annoyed as we lost to another club by one point for chairmans choice. No we're not sore losers, on 2 days we had been beaten for points (a total of 3) to a club WHO WEREN'T EVEN THERE! (scuse the yelling, am not pleased!). How can you be chairmans choice if you dont turn up? The kids should have won by 2 points!

And there's no right of appeal.

I also got called a stuck up cow by someone who didnt relaise I could hear and ended up on the toilet floor after 2 glasses of wine whch was bloody wierd and I wont be drinking again for a good while.

So a bit of a let down really but OTOH Friday niht me and DH had a night in and a lovely time so maybe I am getting ols? (or maybe carrying bas all night doesn't make for a good party!)

Christmas- done loads, ordered food in from M&S - salmon en croute, don't like turkey. Bas has several things, his main toys are Baby Einstein DVD's I got on Amazon- full set new for £23 as the packking is marked LOL. Got them in August I think. Also a baby push along walker, toy octopus (tradition, they've all had one) and activity frame.

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 23/11/2008 17:21

On another thread I've just been outed as apaprently I am Cod in disguise

tsk!

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 18:33

Please excuse any ignorance Peachy, but could you use a CM or do they provide wraparound hours care too? That sounds a bit mean, what harm would a teddy have done on the bus??

Mimi's tooth has actually cut up through her gum now, she is full of cold too so she wants lots of booby and calpol she isn't being whingy though, bless her.

Has been too cold to go anywhere today; that and DH was training today as he is fighting 2 weeks today. Oh yes, I am going.

Washing machine is still broken so i handwashed tons in the bath! Hands a bit sore now so DH bathed the dc, and cooked tea/washed up etc.

scorpio1 · 23/11/2008 18:34

Wonder how PFJ is??

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 23/11/2008 19:31

I hope she's OK

Harry does have a Cm he has used and she wants him back, the problem is likely to be that buses can be a bit random (taxi buses) for drop off / collection and cm's tend to have a number or rounds to do. there's no wrap around care here, none that would take him anyway. Similar prob with Sam, although there is a nursery sam could access....... if the Owner wasn't a Mum of a child Sam has fallen out with and has made complaints.

We're looking at solutions, if Dh doesn't get his Uni place we'll think about us both working PT, maybe 30 hrs a week each- one to be in for each taxibus call.

VictorianSqualor · 24/11/2008 09:05

Grrrr.
DD's birthday today.
Her 'Nan' got in contact with me a couple of days ago. The first time in months and is messaging me on FB pretending to give a toss and blaming me for her not seeing the kids!! Argghh.
I'm trying so desperately not to get into a row with them but there is SO much I want to say. Fucking audacious twunts.

VictorianSqualor · 24/11/2008 09:09

Would it be really bad to write back correcting her grammar?

Damn, I thought as much.

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 24/11/2008 09:42

lol

harrys statement meeting at one point descended into me, the Paed, 1-1 head and senco taking the piss out of Salt for using wrong form of there and confusing us

mature lol

VictorianSqualor · 24/11/2008 09:44

This woman is mental. She is accusing me of having the social services called in for DS because of severe nappy rash?!?!?!
