Hello people, is anyone there?

x-posts Insy! You explained the basket better than me but I think it is Heuristic play, isn't holistic play to do with using the whole body or something? I am sure some sleep (for me) would make everything much better - am thinking of skiving off of work tonight, nothing wrong with me other than lack of sleep but an early night would do me the world of good (and make it easier to deal with the DCs all waking through the night). How exciting that you are on your first 2ww! Will keep everyrhing crossed for you!

insywinsyspider · 06/10/2008 22:38

I think heuristic sounds more plausable - I couldn't think of the word and the nearest my brain could come up with was holistic!
hope work was ok if you went or you had a good nights sleep if not

Wizzska · 07/10/2008 12:19

Where is everyone this morning? I can't believe you've all got better things to do than MN. I'm going to have to skulk in the AIBU threads for entertainment.

Suey, have you had your seaweed wrap yet? Hope it's good.

OP posts:
skidaddle · 07/10/2008 12:27

wizz - I'm here, nothing better to do either! Might see you over in AIBU....

BT - poor you - that made me wince reading about him scraping your nipple with his teeth, ooowww

beckle - hope everyone is feeling better - it is so awful when one gets ill and then passes it on to everyone else

suey - hope the pampering was good and you're feeling nice and relaxed

news in the skid house is that DS is finally crawling!! Yaay, he is so cute with it - he can't believe he can go where he wants - no crying when I leave the room now - he just follows me laughing his little head off. He's also clapping which is so sweet as well (although can;t do both at the same time (YET)

cazzybabs · 07/10/2008 12:30

BT - Evie has started to bite...it is very painful.

Skid - well doen to your DS

Wizzska · 07/10/2008 12:39

Skid, it's lovely when they're crawling. I love the sound of DS padding after me when I leave the room.

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 07/10/2008 14:34

What is really cute is when they see you, frantically crawl towards you and pull themselves up on your legs!
DS does this a lot, it is sooo sweet

He'll come over if he is sat playing and I say "Cme to Mum-mum!" and he comes straight over for a cuddle

becklespeckle · 07/10/2008 16:04

Hi all, still snot galore in the Speckle household although I did send the boys to school today!

Insy, I only know the word cos I looked it up , didn't go to work in the end (luckily enough as a migrane decided to grace me with its presence last night) but also didn't get much sleep as Evie was very unsettled and only wanted to sleep sat up and on me...

Yay for DS crawling Skid! Clapping is so cute too - DD does it on demand at the moment which is sweet!

suey2 · 08/10/2008 08:53

hello all,
Well i had a lovely day off yesterday, but ended up in the evening still feeling very low indeed. DH is away until friday. It feels like there is no escape IYKWIM. So I will go back to the docs and get some drugs.

Hope you are all well.

Wizzska · 08/10/2008 09:43

Suey - glad you enjoyed yesterday. I'm afraid I have no experience of pnd, only baby blues which was bad enough. I can't help only to say I'm thinking of you. I hope the doc can help. I admire you how you are managing. Remember when you feel like you can't cope, it's the depression talking, it's not you.

OP posts:
claireybee · 08/10/2008 11:04

Suey sorry you are still feeling down, but the good thing is that at least you recognise that and are doing something about it. IME (not me personally but friends and family) depression seems to get out of control when people are in denial about it. And FWIW, all along I have been amazed at how you have coped, you never really stopped working and not just as an employee but with all the stress of owning your own business. I hope the drugs soon kick in for you! (and is there any way of further reducing the pressure on yourself?)

Well done Milo! I thought he was going to go straight to walking. Hope SIL doesn't come between you and your bro Skid.

BT ds pulls himself up on my leg too, it is cute but when I'm doing the washing up/hanging up the washing in the mornings (still in my pj's) I always end up doing it with my trousers round my ankles where he has pulled them down! My poor neighbours!

claireybee · 08/10/2008 11:06

Oh and BT ds has started to bite down too. He does it then pulls off though so I can't try the taking him off when he does it trick.

BOOkleSpookle · 08/10/2008 11:19

Suey, I also think you have coped with everything amazingly but sometimes I find that people thinking you are tough and coping on the outside can make it harder to talk about how you feel on the inside. I really hope the ADs help you get back on top of things again and I know we don't usually do this on here but {{hugs}} to you too.

Clairey - ouch! DD has done that but she didn't like it when I reacted to the pain (ie flinching) and cried!

BOOkleSpookle · 08/10/2008 11:19

('tis beckle by the way with my (slightly early) halloweeney name...)

skidaddle · 08/10/2008 12:32

suey - good luck at the doc and hope the ADs help. I think they usually take about 2 weeks to kick in so be very kind to yourself in the meantime. As you can see we are all thinking of you x

clairey and BT - DS has started biting and scraping too - OMG it hurts! there must be some developmental reason for it but goodness knows what it is... I am giving a lecture ondevelopmental psychology tomorrow and have been trawling through the literatures but have not read anything on biting and scraping during BF!!

booklespookle - LOVE your new name!

Off to Dublin to see the ILs tomorrow - a welcome break after my horrendous family! When are you off to Botswana clairey?

Wizzska · 08/10/2008 12:34

Oh Spookle - it's that time of year again. That's really taken me back to last year when we were all getting rather large. I was Blackcatswizzskas then, but I can't be bothered to type that this year. Competition now open as to my halloween name.

OP posts:
Wizzska · 08/10/2008 12:37

Skid, enjoy Dublin. Is that think with your brother and SIL still going on? Have you not spoken since and are still recovering.

OP posts:
Wizzska · 08/10/2008 12:39

Woooska, or Wizzscare? Oh I should be doing some work.

OP posts:
skidaddle · 08/10/2008 12:44

witchka???

not spoken to bro since but wouldn't have normally - undecided as to whether I should make the first move and hold out the olive branch or continue sulking - I am still soooo mad!

claireyBOOOO · 08/10/2008 14:09

Just jumping on the halloween name bandwagon. Tried to be just plain simple claireyboo but it is taken

Skid we go a week tomorrow, still not particularly looking forward to it...

Beckle I meant to say about the treasure basket, we don't have one but ds just helps himself to the contents of the kitchen cupboards (cleaning products/knives etc out of reach!) so is often crawling around with things like wooden spoons and pegs. He is fascinated with stones and pebbles too, found a massive one in his nappy at my mums where he had swallowed it

Witchka · 08/10/2008 14:27

Skid - you won on account of being the first and only competition entrant. Congratulations!

Peckarolloveragain · 08/10/2008 14:44

hi i havent been on here for a while but ocassionally lurk, just seen suey that your feeling low - a few weeks ago i became very low and very anxious, think it had been building since the birth but suddenly became horrendous - doc diagnosed PND and put me on citalopram, within a week i felt so much better, give it a go, i am so grateful to feel normal (ish) again! xxxxxxxxxxx

Witchka · 08/10/2008 15:32

Pecka, glad to see you back. Gosh, am so grateful not to have suffered PND. Glad you're feeling better now.

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 08/10/2008 20:33

Hello everyone, have dusted off my halloween name too

Pecka - hello!! good to see you but sorry to hear you've had PND, though glad to hear you are being treated.

Suey - poor you, but well done for recognising there is a problem and hope you can get help asap.

Hi to everyone else! Can't stop got loads to do tonight!

Arcadie · 08/10/2008 22:33

Hullo lovely ladies - sorry long time no post. Went away on church wimmin's weekend which was rather relaxing and lovely. Then felt uber guilt at not being with DD and DS for nearly 5 days on the trot ( including being at work) so haven't been on. Missed you all. Very entertained by the Halloween names.

Fully intend to make small basket of interesting things for DD. Thanks for the ideas. Did one for DS when he was little. Favourite toy? The turkey baster. Silly little man.

Skid Shocking result from you SIL and brother's weekend. Can't believe how badly you've been treated. IME just holding out an olive branch if you don't mean it just makes you feel more cross. Hope it all works out to everyone's satisfaction. And yay for the crawling. DD still commando crawls. Have a feeling she'll walk before she learns to move on her knees!

Insy I second whoever it was that said to keep us posted on the ttc. (If that's not too horrificly voyeuristic) Won't be doing it again myself so living through someone else's experience always nice.

Claireyboo and Cazzybabs and BT OOOOOOOW on your behalf. [sympathy]
