I ladies thought I would start this..

I cant believe they are starting to and are going to be turning one.. This year has flown over.. I miss being pregnant. But i love watching lee playng with his older brother and sister, it always makes me smile.
I love the fact that he is now playing properly , will go to his toy box pull himself up and see what he wants to play with.. normally after throwing everything round the front room first..No such thing as a tidy room in this house.. How do people do it.

Hope everyone is ok.. speak soon

Minimeep looks gorgeous! And seems to be having great fun on her Wheelybug . What a lovely present ..... might have to do an internet search at lunchtime!

Thanks for the congrats, Swedes! I've been suffering with horrible MS and keep asking myself why I wanted to do it again! We all know the reason though . Not sure I would want to go to 3 though ......

Pulapula - DH was very disappointed that we didn't have to "try" this time. Without TMI, that sort of thing doesn't happen too much in our house at the moment, so it was a miracle to get a + result!!! Good luck for the weekend - and hope you are feeling better.

We had an uninterrupted night last night, although Little O has another cold and had been sick over herself during the night . Poor little thing looked so pleased to be rescued this morning!

Am getting excited about Little O's birthday on Monday - I know I'm going to blub lots. I keep remembering the waiting game this time last year.

Anyway, another jacket potato and cheese beckons (my staple diet at the moment) so off I go.

Meep she is gorgeous.. I have been thinking about buying Lee a bobby car for his birthday, as he loves sitting on them at play group, and he also loves sitting in his brothers electric tractor and playing with the steering wheel.

My removals are booked for the dates i wanted so everything is now falling into place. My inlaws are coming over tommorrow for a long weekend.. just hoping she wont whine too much about how much she has worked, and how much she needs a rest..etc.. I am defo the wrong person to talk to about needing a rest at the mo....lol

Meep- minimeep is beautiful! You should be v proud!
2+1- glad the move is falling into place but hope your inlaws haven't added to your stress levels! Good luck!

Just a quickie- how well are your LOs eating? Mairi has become a right madam at mealtimes, won't let a spoon go near her (unless very distracted). Even when I let her try to feed herself she is loathed to use the spoon or eat "mush"- prefers finger food. However she doesn't eat that much as finger food...and I am constantly worried about her calorie intake etc... Must spend over an hour each mealtime at the mo trying to get food into her She still hasn't cut any teeth and I know teething is annoying her a lot, which probably explains her lack of interest in solid food (except hard chewy ones), but this has been going on for a few weeks now. Didn't remember this "phase" lasting so long with DS (or is that just my looking back on his babyhood with rose tinted glasses? )
All tips greatly appreciated!!

When DS dropped his daytime nap (aged 2.5yrs, back last October) I found it hard to adjust, but luckily now he lets me have a cup of tea and sit down when DD naps, just plays around me or we read a book together or look at recipes for things to make while DD sleeps (DS LOVES cooking! so that's what we do when DD sleeps- or washing up!!). Takes a while to get used to though!

PS. A very happy belated birthday to Melissam's EvelynGrace - hope you had a fab day, and a huge belated happy birthday to Doris's Lydia for Saturday. Really hope it wasn't too hard Doris and you managed to do lots of celebrating

Happy Birthday for today to Little O, Catstar! Hope you have all enjoyed it (even with those exhausting pregnancy hormones)!
xx

A huge 'Happy birthday' to all the bubs that have had them and those that are coming up!

Meep, minimeep is adorable, what a gorgeous and beautiful baby she is! You must be so proud. She looks so girly in her pink...bless her!

Sorry to hear you're feeling sick Catstar, it will all be worth it in the end, as you know

Well, nothing much to report here....DS has also decided he doesn't want to eat from a spoon anymore but like you madmum, I too am worried about how much he is or isn't eating! He loves steamed vegetables but doesn't seem to eat half as many as when I mash it all up for him.

Hope you are all well and feeling fine!

Hi everyone - sorry haven't been around, we've been away (again) and I go to my parents for a few days tomorrow with Evelyn. I feel like I'm never home!

mmn - thanks - Evelyn had a great birthday. She loved all her pressies. We bought her this and this as well as some balls to go with them. Unfortunately the weather was awful on the day of her party so we only put the first one up in the lounge. We took her to a soft play centre on her actual birthday which she also loved. DH let her go from the top of a v high slide on her own . Needless to say she went sideways then started to roll and banged her head. I have never moved so quickly and managed to get halfway up the slide (in my socks) to catch her. Still she wanted to get straight back on again (after we calmed her down). DH did feel bad afterwards though cos she had a heck of a lump!
Happy birthday to Catstar's Little O for yesterday and everyone else's b'day that I've missed.

RevJustabout - congrats on your ordination. The retreat does sound hard going.

2+1 glad the move seems to be getting sorted. Hope your dh does manage to come home sooner than expected. I can't imagine moving with 1 dc, nevermind 3 and doing it on your own!

Right - gotta make tea before dh and dd arrive home after a day at the office and nursery. Only 1 more week at home for me then it's back to work for me too but I have a spa day booked next Tuesday so I am looking forward to that. Never done one before so not really sure what to expect. Hope you all have a great week and I'll try to catch up with you all at the weekend when I get back.

Happy birthday to EvelynGrace, Lydia and Orlena! Hope they all had a lovely day and didn't get too hyper from the choc cake!

And thank you for the lovely things you have said about minimeep - I, of course, think she is the most beautiful baby in the whole wide world ! MFO - she was looking particularly girlie that day - she had to compete with her 3 older cousins all in their party frocks!

Melissa - my dh bought the same tent etc for minimeep - but no balls ....... I am thinking they might tempt her into the tent to play - but do they not get everywhere??! Poor wee E with her tumble!

Spoons are for playing, chewing, banging, feeding mummy - but not feeding minimeep !

At the moment we are mostly feeding ds by letting him find food on the floor. We've lost the straps from the high chair, and he can climb out onto the table. He can climb the stairs too and took his first step today.

Happy birthday to all the little ones this week

Ben has to hold a spoon while we feed, and has a good go at feeding himself but its very messy! Nursery said he's stopped finger feeding and drinking from a cup and expecting them to do it for him- boys lazy? no surely not! He hasn't tried that at home yet but if he does, he will just go hungry!

Well we have reached a major breakthrough this week- 4 days of Ben not waking up til after 7am! Never been done before (apart from when he was really little and would feed at 5 and go back to sleep). I feel so much better and pray it will continue (until the next lot of teeth, illness etc). He's also sleeping through- bliss.

Hope all your LOs are behaving!

Jam- must meet up again sometime. Let me know if you fancy it.

Hello all...

Twoplusone - I totally understand what you are saying. But just remember that the one person who is the most important one in LO's life is there and thats you! The second most important person is someplace where he is doing something for the rest of us! I hope he gets home soon and safely. Keep smiling because you are all he needs!

Im having such a bad day and I hope you dont mind me sharing.....Got my period today (only the second one since giving up BF). have terrible headache, stomach ache etc. DS took his afternoon nap and I thought I would attempt the baby gate. DH is useless with the drill and so thought Id give it a go.....the drill woke up DS, he started screaming so I started to rush, made the hole too big and then totally slipped and made a huge gash in the wall...now baby gate cant be fixed there, DS is still screaming because he's tired and I've cried too! I know I will get over it soon but just feel totally wrecked

MFO - that is incredibly well put about 2+1's dh - I second what you say!

Do you think we are doing that all getting our periods at the same time thingie but over the internet - that would be weird! Mine (kind of) arrived today too. It is not a normal period so I did a pg test which was negative - but I am hugely bloated, have a sore back and a headache and am still waiting for it to properly arrive - ugh!

I am about to get a large glass of wine - MFO I think you should do the same and ignore said gash in your wall - think of it as a work of art!

2+1 - just think how lucky Lee is - he will get two birthday parties - one with you and one when your dh is back - so a double dose of cake and a very happy one year old

Myfairone · 18/07/2008 19:45

Meep - How spooky is that! I do hope that your backache feels better. I opened the wine and enjoyed two glasses. When DH walked in he asked what the occasion was and I said I was celebrating being 'Sh*t at DIY!'. DS is now in bed and Im about to enjoy a cup of tea and chocolate muffin! Well, if I have to have periods this is one way of making them more bearable!

Hi everyone, haven't been on for ages as our computer and router got hit by lightning and I've been offline what feels like forever....

Lydie had an absolutely Fab birthday thanks for all the birthday wishes, we debated a party but didn't have one for DD1 so felt it would be unfair ( plus we still have an unfinished back garden and 720 concrete blocks for the builders to start on our garage next week!) Instead we went to a local, very toddler friendly, place called Pennywell Farm in south Devon. I can't rave enough about how fab it was feeding lambs, ferret racing, goats wandering about the farmyard, 95% of the animals could be petted or held, (with plenty of hand washing facilities too!!) both dds were absolutely blown away. In addition there were loads of toddler friendly toys and free rides so It put a rough year into context!

Tunnels and ball pit definitely popular this year, we got onefrom argos with the balls which she loves and my dsis bought the ninkynonk tunnel set for the dd's ( milly is 3 next month!)

MFO don't be disheartened by the DIY a bit of polyfilla, sand paper and redrilling and you'll never know it wasn't perfect first time!

MMN- Lydie is also being a nightmare with her intake I'm still trying to bf but some times she refuses point blank and other times she'll go for it, it's the luck of the draw ( we top up with water between feeds because of her bowels) same for puree unless it's one of her favourites we're gtting about half way though then refusal, finger food she's going for but just doesn't seem to get the volumes in ( mealtimes do take ages but she does have a 4 course meal with all that and pudding) althogh I need ideas for fingers foods for when we have lunch as sandwiches and my little toothless wonder don't mix too well ( lumpy gummed dough!!!)

I'm stuck between a rock and hard place at the moment tho' as both dd's are streaming with cold and she's now on extra cipro (antibiotic) which has previously upset her stomach, but also our last hospital admission started like this with the struggle for oral intake, so we try to get as much down as possible. Anyway hope you are all keeping well happy birthday to those still to come

love Doris

lovely to hear from you Doris. Sounds like you had a lovely day at the farm.

We are off to pil tomorrow for sil birthday party, with a sort of side celebration for ds for Wednesday, via the dentist. I have my first ever filling Got to fight through the Golf Open traffic though so will have to set off extra early.

Hmm other dilemma is I feel pregnant. No idea if I am or not though. Not had a period for 39 months. Do I test in the morning and risk blabbing? Or test Sunday?

Report
Myfairone · 18/07/2008 22:27

Jennster, why not just test in the morning because otherwise you will be thinking about it all day!
As for the filling....the thought of it is worse than the actual filling itself. You will be just fine. My thoughts are with you though because I hate dentists!!!!!

Doris, sounds like a fantastic day at the farm. I am sure it was much better than a party

We are really unsure what to buy DS for his birthday. Going to take a look tomorrow and hopefully buy him some things. I've been looking at the tunnels too.

Doris, thanks for the advice about the huge hole in the wall. Going to go and buy polyfilla tomorrow and start again.

To top off my day, had a huge argument with DH when he got home! So that just about crowns my day! Going to put it down to just being a bad day and hope that tomorrow is better. I hate hate hate having periods again after being free of them for 20 months. I forgot how miserable and wretched they made me feel...not forgetting how bad they make my judgement for drilling holes!

Well - last night was quite eventful! I had just read MFO's post and had settled down with my glass of wine when some ominous sounds started coming from the baby monitor. Minimeep was hugely sick in her cot - peas and all (sorry TMI )

So I had a lovely night cleaning her, cleaning me, cleaning her bed, changing her again and again and again.

Mt dh was out in the pub - but came home, and helped as only a slightly drunk man can!

She just wouldn't stop being sick so we moved her cot back in with us - can you imagine her glee when she woke up at 6am and she could see mummy and daddy! Much shouting and hand clapping ensued!

Which brings me onto my other news - I have just had a BFP! I am in a bit of shock because the last test I did was -ve 3 days ago. As I posted earlier my period arrived but not properly - again sorry if TMI (but I am slightly concerned) I have been having dark browninsh discharge for the last 5 days - is that normal? Last time there was nothing!

Am delighted and scared at the same time - but worried in case there is something worng (and my tummy hursts so much as I think I have minimeep's bug - not good )

Jennster - I'm hoping your test goes the way you want it to?

PS - if any of my RL friends read this - shhhhhhhh!!!!

My sympathies Meep. Hope minimeep feels better soon, I hope everything works ouy for you.

Got a BFN this morning which means I canhave aglass of wine today now. bf as typing so please excuse mistakes. Not sad, just having lots of fun making up for lost time. Maybe I'm getting a period. Sore boobs, nausea, bloated belly. Being pg would be a great excuse.

Meep- sorry you are going through a difficult time. Just give things a few days to calm down and test again maybe?. I had a very early mc before I had DS and if I hadn't tested and got a BFP I would have just thought it was a late period. I can imagine you are on a rollercoaster of emotions.

2+1- hope Lee had a lovely birthday yesterday.

After saying how well Ben was sleeping, he was then up from 4.15-5.15am that night, and then I was away in London, and DH was up with him from 12.30-2am- must remember not to brag about it again as it might jinx things.

Jennster- I have done 4 pg tests over the last week (got my period yesterday). Will have to just keep trying too!

I finally decided to stop breastfeeding DS, and it's like I never did it now- DS wasn't bothered, never asks for it, and my boobs were a bit sore around day 3-4 but have now calmed down. Oh well- end of an era.
