Here's a new thread especially for Kate79.

(she couldn't access the old one).

oh no egypt, poor you!!! all the bes that it's gone really quick!!!!

cat: what happened to your knee? how was the docs app??

spots: you can come by anytime; i might even have a nice cup of coffee

well cat, i am allright till 3pm; then i am absolutly shattered! i just need a bit more sleep

Bozza · 21/02/2005 22:08

Cat sorry you are feeling down and hope the appt for your knee went OK. Egypyt sorry too that your DD has been so poorly - hope she is past the worst.

Well DH and I made it up. But its probably only until next time although we had quite a lengthy discussion about things and I still don't think he gets it.

DS had a lovely birthday yesterday. Very giddy and excited all weekend but sad to go to bed last night. Woke up this morning and said "am I still four?" . So spent today cleaning and finding homes for loads of toys, plus been to the shops to swap duplicates.

My nephew is doing fine Spots. I haven't seen him for a week (its a 1.5hr drive) but spoke to my sister today.

And just to mention DD who this thread is supposed to be about. She is going through the food thing like Kaira. Would only eat naan bread for tea (from our Asda curry) and none of the food I had made for her. She has also got a nasty rash on her torso which we are putting down to using Huggies Supreme (online shopping substitute) instead of ordinary Huggies. The waistband seems rougher. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome brambles and sarah. Pease both ignore HV's. My ds started on 50th centile (born 3 weeks early) rapidly rose to 98th but is now at 50the again (he's only actually been weighed 3 times in his life. If they look healthy, then usually they are healthy.

We got the house! And now none of you can look at it because it's been taken off the market for 21 days to allow us to exchange. I am SOOOOOO excited. We will be moving by 1st July, possibly earlier and I can't wait.

Bozza · 22/02/2005 11:43

So no gentle curve on his graph then Prufrock. Good news on the house, you must be very pleased about it.

OP posts:
spots · 22/02/2005 13:07

Oh, Prufrock! bloody hell! how amazing! You must be cock a hoop. V. glad for you... when do you move?

spots · 22/02/2005 13:08

...oh, you just said! gum gum gum....

cat82 · 22/02/2005 13:39

Hurrah a minor feeding breakthrough! It involved a bright yellow sheep sitting in kieras highchair, lots of mess and lots of high pitched "weeeeeeeee, look mr sheep's eating his!!!" noises and hurrah she ate quite a bit!

The doc at the hospital has concluded that my knee cap moves to the side alot when i walk and that's what's causing the pain. I have to have physio and wear some sill looking show inserts that will help. Not all the time fortunatly, but when i have pain. He thinks it's going to take a loooooong time to feel benifit though, poossibly as long as 5 months and if it doesn't help i'll have to have surgery to correct, but at least i have an answer now.

Prufrock- Congratulations! Ooooh we could have the june meet up at your mansion!

Spots- You're also welcome at mine anytime for a coffee and a chat

Bozza- glad ds had a lovely birthday

Egypt- How is everything today? I'm thinking of you.

Libb, Libb where fore art thou Libb?

Right i'm off for lunch now while kiera has a nap. Feeling quite satisfyed after succesful feeding session

Love to all

egypt · 22/02/2005 14:24

dd is much better today apart from her poor stinging sore botty. she is in pain when i touch it or when i bath her. she wouldnt sit in the bath it stung so much last night bless her. must be the diarrohea. her rash is still visible but she is eating and playing fine. had a 2 hour map today too so thats good. didnt sleep well, but hey ho.

our neighbours have lent us their grandchildren's playpen for as long as we want and it is an absolute godsend. i am on the pc without having to worry!!! can hear her chatting away in the other room. bless.

now i feel quite ill mind. have a sore gland type feeling in my throat and my eyes actually hurt to move iykwim. like the muscles behind them have done too much at the gym. headache........ lalalalala

egypt · 22/02/2005 14:24

oh, and what a good idea about the eating cat! thats great

goreousgirl · 22/02/2005 14:30

Poor DS is snotty, coughing, not eating, not sleeping, but managing to smile anyway. I'm too scared to go out, cos I think he'll get pneumonia - and dd's 5th party in 6 days - aghhhh

Bozza · 22/02/2005 16:18

Linnet posted on the remembering things about other mumsnetters thread. Spotted it specially because it was about me. So she is still around.

Goreousgirl is the weather really bad by you? Sometimes if you wrap them up well a bit of fresh air does them good. But you know best of course.

OP posts:
Bozza · 22/02/2005 16:48

Oh BTW this is the most popular thread I have ever started. Even if you take out all my ramblings. Or am I cheating to count it as mine?!

OP posts:
egypt · 22/02/2005 17:17

Cat, have you seen this?

B4U Go Ga Ga

GeorginaA · 22/02/2005 22:50

Just to confuse you all, I've changed back.

Sorry, not keeping up very well with this thread! I will do better, I will do better, I will....

goreousgirl · 22/02/2005 22:57

Bozza - did bravely step outside the door with DS today - took him to the doctors and he has another chest infection.....Just never seems to be the right places to go with a sick babe! Maybe I should tie-in sleep times and get some shopping done for the party.... hmmm

BTW is mine the only baby who can't even sit up (as in GET up, as opposed to stay up)? He's TRYING to crawl, and will stand if held - anyone else this slow?

goreousgirl · 22/02/2005 23:00

Spots - wish I could invite you round for coffee - although MN is like having coffee without having to clear up afterwards ( a bonus with a 9 mo old IMO).

Not in Ealing are you?

GeorginaA · 23/02/2005 08:31

I just want an uninterrupted night's sleep, is that okay with everyone?!

Since the flu/sickness bug/random illnesses, i.e. for the last month, one or other of the children have been awake. Either ds2 decides he wants some company for an hour and a half (Daddy won't do and we've guessed teeth, but there's only so often you can feed & medised in the night before you start wondering whether he's just messing around) or ds1 has a nightmare and won't be left for a half hour or so. Add to that I'm getting intermittent stomach cramps which feel period related and since getting the mirena I do seem to get cramps for a day or two around the time of the month but no bleeding (I'd prefer the other way around, thanks) - only this time it seems to have lasted on and off for a week and a half. Not painful, painful... just uncomfortable enough that you want to curl into a ball and be unproductive all day.

And to top it all I've got the f-ing HV coming this morning and ds2 has less than 2.5 hrs in which to learn to babble.

Can I go back to bed?

spots · 23/02/2005 09:05

Georgina you Rotter I was just congratulating myself on getting used to Casmie...

Everyone can definitely come round to my house this morning. I need extra bodies to warm up the house because our boiler has gone odd. I'm not saying broken because I don't want to believe it...It just needs

a little rest

and DD and I are sitting pretty in layer upon layer of fleecey clothes while the big snowflakes sit on top of each other outside the window. It's a cocoa sort of a day and maybe if lots of mums and babies were breathing here it'd be a bit less baltic.

Ill people especially welcome. (Those with temperatures positively championed).

What are the party plans gorgeousgirl?

Yes, the Libb thing...

Bozza · 23/02/2005 09:16

Spots I can't believe your boiler is playing up this week. Have you got a fire that you can be snug by? Otherwise you'll have to go into the kitchen and do lots of cooking - I always get a flush on with that Georgina is your DS getting more teeth? I thought he'd got that many by now that you might be due a break. Goreousgirl (really hard to type that without the g) sory about DS's chest. But just to cheer you up DD is not able to get to a sitting position or crawl. She can sometimes pull herself up to standing and I think is on the verge of taking steps on the furniture. She has also shown an interest in crawling since DS got loads of playmobil with little pieces and other non baby friendly toys at the weekend. And I think Sunday was the first day she managed to roll from back to front (after some wrapping paper).

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 23/02/2005 09:27

I think they should make wrapping paper standard issue for babies - they get so much fun out of it, don't they? Mind you, ds2 ate half a tumbletots sticker yesterday - not quite sure what sort of nutritional value they have - but it was an "eat fit keep fit" sticker so hopefully it should have helped with his balanced diet.

No we still have the four teeth - the others have been threatening so long, to the point of seeing the white gum and then them fading back away. It's driving me mental. He takes ages to fall asleep at the morning nap now as well - but desperately don't want to drop it! Any other GFers finding their babies are less than interested in the first morning one?

spots: sorry!

Bozza · 23/02/2005 09:44

Oh Georgina I really thought he'd got the four top ones through . I'm not doing GF but yes I do find that DD is awkward about her morning nap. I tried to get her to last through and have an early lunch on Monday but that didn't work either. Problem is she's wanting her morning nap later and later and this then impacts on her afternoon nap.

OP posts:
sarahplus2 · 23/02/2005 10:15

cat- when dd started going onto her front i kept hauling her{shes quite a size!} back onto her front, if she could talk she would have told me to sod off she got really peed off with me, so ive given up! at least on her front she can aim her mouth onto her dummy so its saving me a couple of midnight staggerings into her room trying to find the bloody thing.

sarahplus2 · 23/02/2005 10:27

bozza- this is still new to me, whats GF stand for?

Bozza · 23/02/2005 10:32

Sarah GF is Gina Ford. If you've not heard of her she is a parenting guru who is very strictly into routines. Some people (Georgina, prufrock, Cat) have been following her routines. Others (twiglett) are against routines. I am somewhere in the middle.

OP posts:
cat82 · 23/02/2005 10:40

Hi everyone,

Sarah- GF stands for Gina Ford, some people (like me) think she is a baby guru and other people think she's waaaaaaaay too much and some discussions on MN can get quite heated.

Georgina- Aww honey, poor you. I wish i could come and give you a break for a few hours to get some sleep. Try not to worry about the evil hv, dd 2 is doing just fine. You know, i know it everyone on may babies knows it. He will babble in his own time, i know it's stressfull {{{hugs}}}

Oh no spots! Snuggle under a duvet with a hot water bottle. We don't have central heating so when we run out of coal and it frezing that's our survival tactic!

Georgous Girl- Kiera isn't crawling, pulling herslef up to standing or sitting, and i still have to put a cushion behind her in case she falls backwards because she is still a little unreliable at sitting unaided!!

Egypt- That website looks exciting, i wonder if she'll come and sort me out as opposed to the baby

I have heard from the illusive Libb! She's doing okay, i suspect she is just super busy at the moment.

Well guys, tmi alert...i FINALY have a period!!!! Soooooo relieved i can't tell you, but now i have crippling pain thank god for hot water bottles. At last i feel as though i have moved from the post abortion limbo i was in.

Snow! hurrah! we have snow! I was wondering if we were going to get any at all and it has just started

Lots of love everyone
