Simon was in over his head - not least because I think he's actually a nice bloke - the rest of them are mostly horrible sharks!

StealthPolarBear · 17/04/2008 08:20

Happy Birthday Ethan and Ethan!

Sorry, I should have been more clear, thanks for being nice to me, I don't feel ill just stressed and sick of my little boy being ill.
PLus we had to get up at the crack of dawn to take DH to station, and my car was under 3ins of snow! And T cried when we walked through the front door of the nursery

Oh spb
M rolled off bed this morning and under his cot[commando styleee] quite impressive..
Have to go and pick up the innards of a cushion that dogs have destroyed in kitchen[looks like snow!]Cold here.Have said I will take ds1 to park before Taekwon so I spend a lovely hour shivering and then another 3 quarters of an hour waiting whilst he is in Taekwon...Oh I am such a terrible parent[ds1 thinks me and dp are pants at the mo]

Eddas · 17/04/2008 09:06

Belated happy birthdays to Robyn, Ernie and Jonathan and Happy birthdays for today to Ethan and Ethan

dc have injections and 10 so that's gonna be fun DD has been warned and am more worried about her reaction than ds' as he's too young to notice too much. She could make a hell of a racket

I've been dealing with childcare dilemas this week(once dd starts school) and trying to work out why we never have any money and where it all goes and how we could possibly get more/spend less it's crap Just when I think we're sorted we realise there's no oil and it'll cost hundreds for very little oil I only got the last lot just before christmas. Off to ring now and see how much they'll swindle out of us today

PillockOfTheCommunity · 17/04/2008 09:26

J had his injections yesterday, but I wimped out and Sofa Boy took him , after M screaming as much as he did last month I wasn't risking it

M got cross with me and told me he doesn't want me as his mummy anymore on Sunday. I said when he finds someone to replace me would he please let me know (he then promptly informed me that he's never liked me as his mummy but he has to have me because that is how it works).

Children - gotta love em

Eddas · 17/04/2008 09:34

bless him POTC, just love it when they say things like that like the old reverse physcology, i use that on dd alot, she gets most confused

oil wasn't too bad, the company will let us pay interest free over 6 months too so that's even better. Oil is nearly double the price it was a year ago though

When I told dd about her injections she first asked if she would have to eat it then if it would go in her eye(she hates eye drops) she was ok with it going in her leg or arm(it'll be leg though I suppose since they don't have much in the way of arms)

Right I best get dressed as I need to leave in 20 mins and ds and I are still in pjs dd is dressed though as our friend gave her a load of her dd's old clothes yesterday and she found a Bratz t-shirt she had to wear tis her new favourite. She's never watched it but it' pink and has dolls. I need say no more

mammyjo · 17/04/2008 09:40

Morning all. I want to join the band of us who are fed up please! I have a vile cold and feel like pants. Ds has it too, he looks awful bless him so is off school again today. I have sent F off to nursery, although I have a feeling that she won't last the whole day as she is not quite right either. Feel guilty for sending her tbh, but selfishly I really need a bit of quiet time. I am absolutely exhausted.

Runny and SOL, I am with you on the men thing. Dh can see that I am unwell, but it makes no difference whatsoever. I struggled to make dinner last night (despite the fact that I am not eating any of it!), and he had the cheek to come in the kitchen and tell me he would finish off. I said it's bloody done now anyway. Help would have been nice 30 mins earlier. I truly think I would need to collapse for him to take a blind bit of notice of me. I am feeling very put on at the moment, feel like everyones general dogsbody iykwim.

Ellie, hope you are ok. Am around for msn chatting if you would rather not post on here. That's if you want to obviously

SOL and Runny, hope you are both feeling a bit better today xxx

Oooggs, sorry work was crap. Hope it gets better soon xxx

Elkie, glad the funeral went as well as could be expected

Dooby, made me laugh about the commando stylee falling! Not really funny I know!

SPB, how is T doing today?

Can't remember any more, back later xxx

mammyjo · 17/04/2008 09:45

Your sofaboy must be a very good friend to agree to take J for his injections! Not a nice job!

Happy Birthday Ethan and Ethan!

F has her injections next week, should have been in the school holidays, but I didn't take her so they have sent me another appointment.

Eddas, hope your dd is ok with her injections. Lol at it going in her eye

PillockOfTheCommunity · 17/04/2008 09:59

M had his in his arms, I was horrified when she said he had to have one in each arm (pre-school booster), getting him to stay still for one was gonna be bad enough

mj - I'll be on msn tonight, at work all day but boss not in so MNing instead

Doobydoo · 17/04/2008 10:36

Sexonlegs · 17/04/2008 12:06

CD, great minds think alike. I had to scroll down and find the list and thought about moving it!

Happy Birthday to the 2 Ethan's

Sorry you are feelings pants still. I am the same - throat scratchy, headache, knackered - the joys!

MJ, hope you are ok. You sound well hacked off not surprisingly.

Eddas, good luck with the jabs.

How is everyone else?

I am at work, and bored. I want to go home and finish off B's bedroom and all the other shite that needs sorting!!

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2008 12:08

Frustrating, isn't it!!? Grrrrrr! I've got soooo mnay little things that need doing, I just feel like I can't keep on top of anything ......A constant roundabout of fun this parenting lark, isn't it!!!?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 17/04/2008 12:23

I had noticed Dippy, and it was more than likely me that did it, but I decided I couldn't be bothered to move it

you've shamed me into it now though

Sexonlegs · 17/04/2008 13:02

Hi POTC, how are you?

I am bored bored bored! It's either all or nothing at work iyswim.
I just want to eat.

Also stupidly read the deaths in our local newspaper and feeling very sad. A little boy "born sleeping". How utterly heart breaking.

mamiguay · 17/04/2008 13:04

Hello everyone, another drive-by posting for me as I gulp down my baguette before tearing off to do a million other things..

Sorry to see that the general feeling is very 'february' iykwim. I get that february feeling every year when everything just seems blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Luckily at the moment I'm too busy to really stop and notice and I am full of eternal hope that summer is right around the corner Hope it blows all the cobwebs away and makes everything feel lighter and brighter

N continues his settling in at nursery and has got up to 1.5 hours and seems as happy as larry but we have a way to go before he gets to the full 5 hour stint, maybe by the end of next week if it all continues the same way.

Am organising a birthday tea for him now on his birthday and have bought all the stuff to make him his own taggie so hope it turns out ok. For a cake I'm making Nigella cupcakes with choc fudge icing and multicoloured letters spelling out HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY NOAH! Looking forward to it

Hope i can pop in later - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN AND ETHAN!!

mammyjo · 17/04/2008 13:14

Hi Mamiguay, glad you are ok. Nigella cupcakes are yum! I have made those before and they always go down well

SOL, hope you are finishing work soon. Work is crap when it's quiet like that. Feels like an hour has gone by, but when you look at the clock it's only 10 minutes later than when you last looked!

Sexonlegs · 17/04/2008 13:21

Hi Maveta, sounds like you have your hands full Another cake baking goddess. You and NL should get together!

Hi MJ, How are the lo's today? Temps gone down? How about you?

I am leaving at 2.45 - not a minute later! Going to run back and try and sort B's room a bit more before I have to get K from nursery. Don't see K and me painting B's room as a good combination!

NorthernLurker · 17/04/2008 13:41

Happy Birthday Ethan and Ethan

We've been to nursery today for B's first session. I stayed with her and she really like it - was very curious and intriged by the toys. Her keyworker was lovely, probably in her fifties and seemed very warm and natural. All the other little ones looked perfectly content and the rooms themselves seemed as light and spacious as I remebered. Next week I'll be taking her and leaving her for a bit so we'll see how that goes but I do feel a lot more positive about going back to work after today!

Hope everybody is feeling a bit better.
