And Oooggs, sorry to hear about your bad day. Was work bad in itself, or was it just the nursery thing? Though of you (and KHIN) today as my neighbour told me about her friend who is 43 and has just had twins!

On the subject of work:
NL - when do you go back? How are you feeling now?
Weeonion - any news on job-crappness?

Doobydoo · 16/04/2008 20:48

Runny I think you are still recovering from W being ill.It can come out at the oddest times and can take a while.Don't be too hard on yourself.

oooggs · 16/04/2008 20:49

nursery rang as I was leaving so it wasn't that - its just the added bits to my job make it crap

runnyhabbit · 16/04/2008 20:50

I'm going to have to go now.

Computer is in our bedroom, and h is being very sarcastic.

Night all

NorthernLurker · 16/04/2008 20:52

Dooby - the piece is in the Telegraph

Oooggs - that sounds a bit off!

I go back on the 28th. Some days I'm ok about it, others I just feel lousy about it. All days I keep my eyes peele for something else! It's a big 'we'll see' for me. I've told dh I will do the time I need to so i don't have to repay my maternity pay - just a few weeks - and after that i reserve the right to say stuff it!

Bramshott · 16/04/2008 20:53

Sorry to hear that Oooggs. Hope it gets better.

Hi SOL!

Dooby - bugger about the oil! Ours is getting low and we are on starvation rations! Can you put the nest in a hedge outside and hope the parents find it?

NorthernLurker · 16/04/2008 20:53

goodnight Runny - hope tomorrow is better!

Bramshott · 16/04/2008 20:56

Sounds like a good plan NL!

Okay, got to go, need to give SrAlan my full attention!

xxx

leakyR · 16/04/2008 20:58

Dooby POTC will be in the Telegraph this Saturday. Don't buy the Guardian! 4 words I would not normally say

Have just bought a bed online using dh's card (he's in Edinburgh but I have his permission honest). However after the payment screen an error screen came up and said to contact customer services if I did not receive acknowledgement email in 15 minutes. They're going to think I'm a fraudster aren't they?

Doobydoo · 16/04/2008 20:59

Telegraph!Thanks.
The nest burnt
I am going to get a cowl thing for the top of chimney.

leakyR · 16/04/2008 21:03

Bugger! The contact centre is shut! Will get dh to ring tomorrow.

Haven't felt like eating tonight as still a bit yucky. Am thinking bath then bed is the way to go as I have to go back to work tomorrow...

...but I will be leaving my crappy job the next day. Yippeee!

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2008 21:11

Feeling dreadful tonight

OP posts:
runnyhabbit · 16/04/2008 21:13

I'm back

Dh is fast asleep

I'm feeling yucky too Feeling cold and I'm shivering now.

I cannot be ill. The boys party is on Sunday. And besides dh would not be able to cope.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/04/2008 21:17

pmsl at Dooby buying the wrong paper and searching for me

it's not that mj, just I don't make some very clever life choices sometimes, they might make me feel good but aren't necessarily the 'right' thing to do IYSWIM. Leads to me feeling really high, but then feeling guilty for it. I can't really explain it without telling you all, and I can't do that, as much as I would like to, because I have no intention of taking this thread in that direction again, and because my choices aren't always ones I would expect others to agree with.

I'm ok though, just a bit wobbly in places

Sexonlegs · 16/04/2008 22:04

Oh no SPB, what's up?

How are you Runny?

I feel pants still too. Feels as if I have swallowed sandpaper.

NorthernLurker · 16/04/2008 22:19

Oh dear - it's not a good day for us is it? Personally I have felt very grumpy and stressed about the house thing and rather negative about going back to work. I am blaming all of that on the fact that (TMI) I have my first period for nearly two years. So far it's been very slow to get started and it's really annoying me. I have a nasty feeling i could be looking at a 10 days situation here and it is making me b*** annoyed!

Can't believe I've just shared that with the www - better post before I change my mind Gin

Doobydoo · 16/04/2008 22:20

Right.Am waiting for dp to have shower then going to bed.Am fed up!
I am gkad I don't have to purchase the GuardianMy mum is always emailing Telegraph articles to me!
Having a few weeks[so far] of feeling I can't get anything right.
Taking ds1 to Taekwondo tomorrow and the park 1st.M went on the swing when dp was there last time and loved it.Will probably scream when it's just me.
Iwant it to be warm and sunny am fed up with arctic conditions ..
Night all.xxxxxxxxxxx

Doobydoo · 16/04/2008 22:22

Hope Robyn, Ernie and Jonathan had lovely birthdays and that they're all now getting a good night's sleep.

Oooggs, sorry to hear about the nursery suspension, while I would make the same choice you have in your shoes, it does make me feel glad that our CM doesn't have rules of that sort.

The funeral and the tributes to our friend who died last week were very moving, and it felt like a bit of a reunion, though I'd wish for a happier occasion to see all of the people there again, we were both glad to have had the chance to go.

D looks like he might learn to climb up the stairs in our house before he starts walking. And we've lost his favourite toy of the moment - our dustpan! Wish I knew where he'd put it....

NorthernLurker · 16/04/2008 22:23

Right now I've got that off my chest
Will be praying for good health for all those under the weather and for happier times for everyone facing crap stuff in general. I know some of you may not believe in it but tough I know it works.

Dd1 got back ok from her London trip - she had a wonderful time. Just been watching the Apprentice. Ooooh that Claire

elkiedee · 16/04/2008 22:25

Sorry to all who are feeling ill, stressed, worried, grumpy or otherwise not well/happy - hope things look up for you all soon. And sorry for double posting, don't know how.

NorthernLurker · 16/04/2008 22:26

Funeral sounds like a good tribute Elkie. B can climb stairs - as you all know from my wittering when she climbed all of them! Just teach him to turn round and come down them backwards asap - saves accidents!
