Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 12:03

Same here Daisy! LOL!

Bumperlicious · 12/04/2008 12:27

Yep, same here too!

Bumperlicious · 12/04/2008 13:21

Farking DH has used all the bread without telling me so it's lunch time and DD and I are starving and go to make lunch and there is nothing to farking have! So we are having last nights left-overs (meat balls - which I have had to cook while enduring DD crying) and I am NOT cooking later

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 13:52

bumper, don't get too arsey with him though...at least not until after he's agreed to the photo assingment

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/04/2008 14:03

afternoon ladies! It's quiet here in the jammy house now my inlaws have gone home. Nice though

Also hoping DD will be into some girly stuff such as ballet etc. But equally hoping she'll pass over barbie, polly pocket (or what it's called or whatever has superseded it) and similar pink plastic tat. Something tells me one goes along with the other though. She is sitting entranced looking at the "That's not my mermaid" book I bought her this morning at the moment

lilQuidditchKel · 12/04/2008 14:04

raise your hand if you can spot the pg woman on this thread . I'm just jealous i can't eat all the choc i want, guilt free, anymore...

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 14:08

I'm actually trying to stay away fom the stuff lilkel, I'm 3 stone heavier than I was before I had DS, that's a stone and a half per pregnancy. I have no great desire to have another stone and a half lumped on.

I weighed myself this morning though and I have miraculously lost weight. 5lbs has disappeared into the ether almost overnight

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/04/2008 14:43

GIVE ME STRENGTH. My friend who was supposed to come for the day cancelled, so I've taken the 'opportunity' to start potty training DD. I'm not sure how many accidents my limited patience can take. Ughhhh

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 15:48

fairy...I went back to work when DS was two, so his nursery did all the hard work for me re potty training . I'll have it all to come though with DD and DC3

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/04/2008 16:14

Dh just started a bonfire, despite it being mid afternoon and people haveing their washing out . When I pointed this out he put a watering can of water over it and was surprised when it started smoking more Yes, what is it with men? It's out now (after loads more water) and he'll try again tomorrow night after people have finished enjoying their gardens.

On the up side he did mow the lawn and we took the jamlet out and sat on the grass (well she sat on a rug) which was nice (despite the smoke)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/04/2008 16:52

GIVE ME STRENGTH TOO! I asked DH to make some couscous up for the jamlet's tea. Instructions - measure 25g couscous, add 30ml boiling water, wait 5 mins. And it seems he can't even do that without help (twice)!

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 16:56

Oops for DH Jammy!

Daisy, I am just that you are pg, let alone the chocolate eating!

Fairy, why oh why are you potty training in the holidays? Is DD at childminders still? I agree, share the burden joy!

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 17:18

surely you can not be serious foxy??????

I've just had an e-mail from hip hip baby after I enquired about wholesal prices for wonderoos nappies. thay are going to send me a free sample

and warm fuzzy moment today. DH and DS went to the fishing tackle shop to get some bits for our next fishing trip, and the man in the shop GAVE them a pretty decent fishing rod , and . He said he likes to encourage youngsters. i think it must be old stock that he was clearing out, but still......what a lovely man

tea is ready (I heart weekends when I don't have to cook)...later

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 17:25

YEAH! I'd do it again tomorrow!

Bless the fisherman! How lovely! Warms the cockles of your heart to hear tales like that.

I've just made my birthday cake - yum! Ameretti and chocolate I shall be eating it tomorrow with a glass of ameretto (or 3!)

I did all my weekend cooking yesterday morning Lentil soup and bread for tea, all homemade.

Of course, my alpha mum status may only be present in my virtual life. You know, the one where I'm a size 10 and can run 10k!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 12/04/2008 17:40

Oh me too foxy, that's if someone would be a surrogate for me or if I could do an Angelina Jolie! I would NEVER be pg again. I hated every second of it and I don't think my poor body could cope!

How exciting for you about dd's ballet! I can't wait til my dd can go. Her chubby little legs will look soooo cute in ballet tights! Hope you take some good pics and put them on fb so we can all see how yummy she looks! Ds is going to ballet too, I don't care what dp says. I shall take him in secret and he shall be the next Billy Elliot!!

Hope you have a lovely birthday and hope you enjoy your cake, it sounds delish!

How lovely of the fisherman daisy! I love it when people do lovely things like that. Some people are just genuinely nice.

Jammy, glad you had a lovely time. Your top is really nice. Glad dd has had use out of the seat too, really happy it has gone to a good home!

Fairy, I am feeling your potty training pain! Dd was a nightmare, but we cracked it in the end. One day she was just dry and that was that. She is now dry day and night and it is lovely! Good luck with it.

We are in the process of decorating ds's room. We have not progressed very well. Mainly because we are both far too childish to do such a grown up job! So far we have written insults to each other in paint on the walls and painted each other and most of the carpet. We are both proper twats!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 12/04/2008 17:41

That bfing calendar thread has inspired me! I'm gonna get dp to take some nice pics of me feeding ds. It will be hard to do though as I'll want all my hideous stretchmarks covered!

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 17:42

Hello Holly

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 18:02

lol foxy, they're eating sausage rolls and drinking fruit shoots really aren't they?

We just had a lovely keema mince thingy with rice that DH cooked. The DCs loved it too, although DD now looks like she has a rather nice tan on her face from all the turmeric. We gave her the spoon and she valiantly tried spooning it in herself, then as soon as i looked away the spoon went over her shoulders and she was in with two hands

hey holly did you check out the picture from Mrs Badger....really lovely. I've put a couple of pics on my profile, as has bumper. There's no need to see any flesh, and anyway stretch marks can be brushpainted out. Are you going to volunteer for the calendar? you too foxy, andie, fairy, mhc and jammy (have i missed anyone? izzy? sputnik, you can always send a photo in too!)

I have convinced DH that the only way we will be able to get our front room and hall and staircase decorated is if we get someone in.....he has agreed

We bought a greenhouse today!; just a small one (6ft x 4ft) covered in that heavy duty polythene stuff, but I'm v v excited about growing proper courgettes and tomatoes this year.

justbeme · 12/04/2008 18:40

You missed me!!

Daisy, I took my greenhouse back today (got it in woolies for £30) - 'cos one gust of wind and all the bottom plastic bits cracked!

Only popping in quickly!

Healthy vibes Likel
Glad you had a lovely meal Jammy!

and hello ev 1 else - Ive suddenly gone brain dead!

OOhhhh yes "happy birthday 4 tomorrow Foxy!!!"

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/04/2008 19:00

Will be off in a bit to cook steaks for tea (beef for me, lamb for DH), then watch Dr Who and various other stuff we didn't watch during the week with DH. But before I go I want to make sure I get in a Happy Birthday Foxy message in case I miss her tomorrow.

Mmm, not sure about joining in the BF calender. Hoped to get a nice shot for our own photo album, but not happened so far

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/04/2008 19:11

Potty training going ok-ish so far. I am doing it in hols as DD only goes to childminder one day a week, and it just seemed easier to do it when I have a couple of days with no committments. She has had lots of accidents but several wees and a poo on the toilet which I'm thinking is ok for the first day. She LOVES her big-girl pants so fingers crossed for a good day again tomorrow.

Foxy, I'm drooling at the sound of that cake. It sounds scrummy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow, in case I forget

Everyone else - hellooooooooooo

justbeme · 12/04/2008 19:17

Sorry Daisy! - Ive been feeling awful whilst eating my dinner (king prawn korma!).
I typed that last message so quickly -
I didnt mean to pee on your bonfire (is that the saying???!!)

My greenhouse was a walk in one, and we sited it at the side of our house on concrete. It came with pegs that you could hold it down with if on soft ground, so we just had it freestanding and then put some bricks around the base. But I noticed one windy day after it had taken off (good job no plants in it yet!), that the bottom plastic struts had cracked.

So, hopefully yours is different to mine - but if not - keep the receipt (we didnt!).

I think I'll stick with my cold frame for now.

ps Im growing:
Lettuce/Spinach/parsley/leeks/carrots/parsnips/aubergine (didnt do well last yr), celery/cauliflower/tomatoes - all currently planted. Also need to get some potatoes in.

What have you got planned? or anyone else?

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 19:24

Aww, thanks hunnis

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 12/04/2008 19:27

I've just put 2 photos of me bfing dd on my profile. One of them you can't tell I'm bfing and the other is her first feed and I look hideous! The top pic is dd bfing her baby! I need to get some of me feeding ds. I love your pics daisy!

FF glad the potty training is going ok fairy. Hope it carries on!

Hey jbm, I saw your photo on the TIPS homepage! It's a lovely pic, congrats on winning the prize!

My dad has just been here for a couple of hours sorting out our garden. It looks fabby. I am so shit at gardening, I just haven't a clue where to start. He was trimming a climbing shrub thingy that was climbing up a trellace [sp] and a robin flew out. He has a closer look and there was a nest with 5 eggs in. I went out with dd to look at it and the robin was back in the nest sitting on the eggs. I'm worried though because next door have a horrible cat and it is in a really accessible place. I may try and ring the RSPB and see if I can move it. As soon as the babies hatch the cat will have them I'm sure. Then I'll be .

lilQuidditchKel · 12/04/2008 19:35

JBMe am in awe of your planting skills

am still such an urbanite (well 7 yrs in NYC will do that to you) that I bought flowers (yes I know I should grow them but see previous excuse) and can't be asked to get the soil out of the shed so they're just bunged into a couple of painted pots...still in plastic planter pots from the shop I am useless.

Fairyfay - strength vibes duly sent!! I would so LOVE to potty train DS but he barely knows where his arse is so I think I need to wait. He's sat on the potty a few times and sometimes seems to like it, points in it sometimes and says "bah!" (his word for poo/mess in general). I have zero patience though so am holding off till at least June.

Foxy I hope you treat yourself to everythign you want tomorrow!
