hi everyone else must dash am still not dressed any of us and have to leave at 9

RiaisMaLarkin · 12/04/2008 08:29

Thanks guys

I'm in an "up and at em" frame of mind this morning It won't last. Been awake since about 3 (I fell asleep on the sofa watching High Society - I love that film, and that's when I tried to go to bed.) I'm going to walk DS1 to tennis, so that will be exercise sorted for the rest of the day.

I got my first greys quite young too - I don't know if I wa 19 or 20.

DS1 still reading!!!

Morning all, haven't caught up yet. Having a shit morning so far. DD has a cough and cold and is miserable. Been trying to get her back down for a sleep in my bed so I was feed her to sleep, waiting till I thought she was asleep then slowly removing myself off the bed and out of the room trying not to wake, at which point she would notice I was leaving burst into tears again and we would have to start over again. Just done it 3 times, then finally left her crying but she is quiet now so I think she is asleep.

Ria, I'm sorry to hear about your plight. If you could do anything, what would you really want to do? Anything is possible, especially if on a low income the government will help you retrain. Ok, it's probably a bit late to be the Prime Minister (though I still have pretentions to it!) or a world famous rock star, or an Olympic swimmer, but there are other jobs out there. I agree with sputnik you are too good for cleaning (though I suspect you are much better than me at it !) but I have said it before and will say it again you should try your hand at writing, you are very funny.

I really need a new hair colour, my hair is a very boring shade of brown too.

Foxy, in case I forget HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow.

Daisy I love that cartoon , have you shown the "rest" of mnet? I love your picks too, I haven't looked at your profiles your ages. Daisy your DH is pretty hot in a preppy kinda way . Glad DD is feeding better.

I've thrown of the cloak of my paranoia for a change and uploaded a couple of picks of DD feeding for a thread on the BF topic.

Bumperlicious · 12/04/2008 09:17

Hmm, I would probably prefer a cleaning job where I am paid than cleaning my house where I am not!

I prefer jobs where I interact with people (well I used to anyway) I've done loads of bar jobs, spent 2 years working at a holiday camp and though at times I worked 60 hours a week I LOVED it. Don't think I could do that sort of job now though, I am too miserable and too unfit!

RiaisMaLarkin · 12/04/2008 09:49

Just done a 2 mile walk on the tennis run, lots of daffodils and very busy country roads!

In answer to questions I think I would maybe enjoy cleaning for a while, so long as it's not too grim as I'm not a marigolds kind of person. I have a couple of numbers to ring later, but I don't know if I would maybe be too obsessive. I don't know what I would really like to do, DH says I should write too, but I aren't convinced I'm funny enough - I wouldn't mind churning out Katie FForde style romances. (hows your book bumper?) I like working in the hotel trade (but haven't the confidence for people just now), and would like to teach or work with young teenagers (but in something more structured than the youth work I used to do). I would love for us to get enough money together to have a little hotel/bistro, but I wouldn't want us both to be in the trade while the DCs are little.

We are just about managing on the benefit, but I'm scared that one day we won't, and if I can make things a bit easier then I'll give it a go.

phew, long post!

PMSL bumper....he'll be bemused by that....I think!

When I first met him, he looked like Dr Green from ER, so I suppose you're right about preppy. It's funny how you take them for granted isn't it; to me he just looks like a middle aged slouch who needs to shave a bit more

....and talking of profiles i thought it was a bit uncharacteristic of you to have one, let alone pictures, but I see that you would have to know you pretty darn well to identify you from them

long may the positive frame of mind continue Ria....i haven't woken up with one of them for about 6 years .

DH wrote a list of chores to be done this weekend. I have managed one so far and that was only putting the flowers I bought on thursday in a vase!

Hey ho, better get on with the laundry.

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:28

how blardy desperate am I? I've just e-mailed P&B magazine to tell them I forgot to mention i was going for a VBA2C and that it might make interesting reading. I might as well have just written "please pick me, please, please, please" in big letters!

Bumperlicious · 12/04/2008 10:29

Ria, the book kind of stalled when I realised that I was actually quite boring! I do still have aspirations to do it but I need a plot.

Btw sputnik, about my no buying thing, well, we have fallen off the bandwagon a few times, I went out and spent about £100 on clothes before going back to work, but most of it was birthday money, so wasn't too bad for the budget, but not good for the environment (I even went to Primark! Not that I have Primark snobbery I love it, but just that I had promised myself no more cheap clothes - if they can sell a top for £2.50 just how much are the people who make them being paid). And despite regular efforts to be better we are still spending too much on food. But on the whole it is good, it does mean that I really think twice about buying things, it's just so easy to go into town and spend £50 on not very much. Mostly I just avoid the shops because it makes me want stuff. Most of the stuff that we have bought new is for DD, but even then it's v little, a few items of clothing in the sale, a stair gate etc.

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 10:33

Morning! Nice to see everyone feeling fairly upbeat this morning.

Lilkel - positive healthy vibes for you and DS.

Ria, am very impressed with your day so far!

I think, Bumper, you should have a kicking-back and relaxing type of day. its the only way to cope with the crappy nights I think.

Do you get a trip to London Daisy? For your makeover and photoshoot?

PICK DAISY!

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:38

three trips in all foxy, three makeovers, and £200!. The first one is on 24th April, so I've cleared my calendar and told DH he needs to book the day off work, just in case!

They said around 16 weeks though, and I'm only 11 so.......

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:42

sorry about DD being poorly bumper. It's horrible when they cry at being left in their cot as well. DD has just started it and I had to just leave her to it this morning. She was dead beat as well as she has been up since 5:30. DH thinks I've made it up about her sleeping 12 hours a night since Tuesday.

Feeling really sick this morning, and I know that food is the only thing that will make it go away, but really don't want to eat anything. Mother nature certainly knew how to play a cruel trick on the human race!

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 10:42

Oh we have the teachers strike that day.

DAISY! DAISY! DAISY!

Didn't you think to LIE???!

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:45

lie?????? ....I'm far too virtuous for that

DSs teacher is only one of four in his school that aren't on strike that day. He feels very short-changed, especially as the other Yr1 class will be off.

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 10:45

MS is GOOD - means all those hormones are kicking in and working well! Mind you, I'm not the one with my head in the bowl ...

I have cleared out my kitchen cupboards, made the kids eggy bread and fruit and am now off to get showered and groomed before the park. Then its baking this afternoon. DP has gone to work (hurrah! he's been lying around the house all week being pathetic ill.)

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 10:47
foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 10:50

I am trying very hard I have to admit.

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 10:51

Thanks for all the early birthday wishes too!

Bumperlicious · 12/04/2008 10:53

I'm glad I got her down, she's just slept for 2 hours, which is v unusual for her. Perked up a lot now though, has just polished off a wakey wakey cakey, choked half of it up as she can't breathe through her nose!

Ooh daisy I hope you win your make-over, sounds v exciting.

Foxy you put us all to shame!

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 10:55

Ladies, those of you breastfeeding I could use your help here

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 11:03

hi VS...shouldn't you be IN LABOUR, or at the very least climbing stairs, out walking, eating pineapple or pinning your DH to the bed or something?

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 11:04

ooooh, bumper, i posted a suggestion on your name thread.......

foxythesnowfox · 12/04/2008 11:40

Believe me Bumper it DOES NOT come naturally!

DD is starting her ballet class this week. I am beside myself with excitement as I have to go and get her leotard and shoes. She's really keen, I hope she likes it (I think she will).

lackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2008 11:54

foxy, I can't wait for DD to g all giddy about ballet and gymnastics and horses

and of course I never got to do any of it when I was young , so I get to live my wistful childhood vicariously through my daughter!
