Is it the same MW daisy? Bless your DS.

Hi daisy, yes I know, but we always have sleepless nights when we travel with DD so I am reluctant, but defo will soon! Glad you are ok. Will you be finding out the sex?

We seem to have cracked the sleepless nights here. We had one night where we refused to pick DD up when she woke up, just went in and soothed her through the cot every few mins. She sobbed for about an hour and a half clutching on to a soft dolly we put in her cot , but it seems to have worked. the only problem is the last 2 nights we have had trouble getting her down which I don't know whether is related to having left her to cry

Ria my dad has met DD a few times but he isn't really into babies, prefers toddlers so DD is just about getting to the age where he is really enjoying her. He is a drama teacher though and very uninhibited so has been amusing her with funny voices and songs.

RiaisMaLarkin · 08/04/2008 21:37

Bless him (your DF) bumper.

I am feeling VERY old tonight. There is so much in being a parent. And so much - why is there no face for this? My baby used to be a gorgeous porky little cutie, always amusing and SO clever. He's a bolshie, skinny "pre-teen" now. Hang on to every precious moment (until they're about 7, that's when it all goes wrong!)

LittleMissNorty · 08/04/2008 21:43

Well Ria, if you feel old, theres no hope for me......

lackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2008 21:44

Do you mean the same MW as last time Ria? or same MW as will be delivering me?

well yes to the first and no to the second. she is community mw only, although they do have deliver the odd baby to keep their hand in.

I'm off to find some stats for VBA2C at jimmys.

Sputnik · 08/04/2008 21:44

That's sweet about your DS Daisy. Why do you want a VBAC?

LittleMissNorty · 08/04/2008 21:47

Oooh have to admit to not having VBAC with my next one....too blardy painful.....I thought you forgot how painful it was.....everyone told me that....but I haven't

Sputnik · 08/04/2008 21:47

No hope for me either. I think leaving having kids til I was ancient was part of my cunning plan to feel younger, longer hmm
Shame I don't get more sleep then.

Hi Norty, glad your DD is feeling better

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/04/2008 21:48

Evening all!

Just finished work for the night. Got my in-laws coming tomorrow and Thursday night we're off out for this swanky dinner (where we'll be having this so been trying to do my hours at home earlier in the week. And with in-laws staying until Saturday I probably won't be about much for the rest of the week either.

Sorry to hear about your mum, Bumper. And hope you're having a good time with your Dad. My Dad adores the jamlet, and I'm always thinking "ooh, must tell Dad that, it'll really tickle him". I think us going to visit the other week did him the world of good when he was feeling ill. We're going again in a couple of weeks time. Mum & Dad are going out one night, and I'm going out the other while they babysit, but I'll get to spend a couple of days with them, which will be nice.

justbeme · 08/04/2008 21:49

I know Daisy, needle in a haystack ....poooooo!
Im talking to a bloke I went to 2ndry school with on Fb at the mo - its very odd - some 24yrs since I last saw him!

Well my DD1 told me she wants her belly button pierced as 3 of her yr 8 friends have just had it done !
and she also asked me if I'd even done a BJ and what does it taste like!! (she thought it would taste of cream! - can you believe it!!!!!!

RiaisMaLarkin · 08/04/2008 21:50

sorry, not very clear am I? I meant same MW as last time. Does anyone ever gets the MW they see for AN checks for delivery?

I bet you are younger at heart than me norty! I am a miserable old git.

Tomorrow (If I can work the bloody scanner) I will put DFS1s baby photos and most recent photo on FB too. What happened to him?

OP posts:
Sputnik · 08/04/2008 21:50

That should've been obviously. Bloody sleep deprivation.

lackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2008 21:51

hey sputnik. My recovery after DDs section was fecking shite and I could hardly walk or stand for over three weeks and was in a lot of pain with a wound that took nearly six weeks to fully heal up. Can't imagine all of that with a toddler to run around after as well; at least DS was pretty self sufficient and didn't need lifting etc......

........on the other hand how much looking after (of either baby) will I be capable of after a ruptured uterus

....but on the third hand, the memory of standing in my room at the hospital with blood and gore running down my legs, but being in so much pain that I couldn't bend over to take my own knickers off to sort myself out, is still too fresh though

RiaisMaLarkin · 08/04/2008 21:53

jbm. I was surprised because DSD said that about sex to DH and also said "fuck". I have lead a very sheltered life. I suppose it's good she feels she can ask you?

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2008 21:54

lol jbm...facebook is the new friends re-united.

I got a friend request from a random stranger the other day, who just happens to have he same name as me. no message with it, so not sure if it's another MNer from one of my other regular threads as we were swapping e-mails the otehr week. weird or waht?

that last bit of my post sounded horrible, sorry

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/04/2008 21:54

Daisy. Sounds like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Sputnik · 08/04/2008 21:55

JBM, my DD has just entered the "why" phase but I hope it'll be a while before I get that kind of question. Did you set her straight?

lackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2008 21:55

lol at your DD jbm. did you manage to keep a straight face, or did you ground her until she's 38!

Sputnik · 08/04/2008 21:59

Daisy, maybe you should try and see someone to evaluate the pros and cons of either option.

Jammy, just looking at that menu. Wow , you really did mean a swanky restaurant, lucky you

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/04/2008 22:01

I thought it was bad enough when my nephew, aged not very old but able to read, asked me what petting was when we were looking at this poster at the swimming pool. In my defence I would have still been a teenager myself back then.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/04/2008 22:02

It's DH's long service award, Sputnik. 5 years = that dinner for 2

LittleMissNorty · 08/04/2008 22:02

Hiya all

Ria - I'm not young at heart at all.....

PMSL JBM.....how I am looking forward to K asking me that in 14 years time...

Bumper....sorry bout your mum....that is such a horrible thing to happen. No phone call from GP re x-ray so I'm keeping a low profile....although she is snotty again.....bloods next and I really don't want put her through that unless absolutely necessary.

Just listening that Shannon Matthews mother has been charged. child neglect What is the matter with the woman?

RiaisMaLarkin · 08/04/2008 22:03

My sis was telling me the other day that her DH has bough DN TOTPs mag for a reward for something. She is 10. The problem page had - "my friend is 13 and has just had a baby. I am jealous" and "I have a date with my boyfriend and I want to wear a short skirt to impress him but I have my period. I am 13, what should I do?". I am SO grateful I have nasty smelly boys who are concerned about Mount Vesuvius (sp?), the Bible and the universe!

(BTW, I would have shot my DH if he'd done that)

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2008 22:05

jammy, missed your post about your swanky meal. am very you lucky lady.

LittleMissNorty · 08/04/2008 22:05

That poster brings back memories Jammy ....I asked my dad was petting was as well
