The base mat is 160x160cm. It's not too bad to put up although a foot pump would be helpful. I had all my family blowing up the different bits on Izzy's birthday. It all velcros on, haven't taken it down yet but don't think it would be too bad.

Speaking of blowing the bits up, while we are all sat there blowing it up, Jake says to my DB your gf is a good blower isn't she? Needless to say we all burst out laughing

PillockOfTheCommunity · 06/04/2008 21:25

pmsl
did the gf hear him? I'd have been really embarrassed if I was her!

B has a laugh that sounds like a machine gun

elkiedee · 06/04/2008 22:05

Thanks for the update on your lovelife POTC. Sorry none of those possibilities seem to have come to much but good on you that you're clear on what's not for you.

I try not to spend much time online at work other than for work, and especially not on sites where I might be tempted to linger. I got into trouble a few years ago and I don't want more of that right now. Then at the weekends when D's up he's getting into everything at the moment, and I'm keen to get out and do stuff with him.

My mum comes home from China this week, and my sister thinks she might stay a couple of days when they come to collect the dog from her.

weeonion · 06/04/2008 22:43

evening folks!

its so lovely to hear about all the wee ones birthday bashes and pressies! ( and see the pics of course!)
cant quite belive how much they have all grown - i was warned the first year would fly by - but it feels like i have blinked and suddenly they are walking, talking and taking over their homes!

i so wanted to do personals and apologies to those of you that i dont respond to.
potc - seems like Justin couldnt quite step up to the mark but hopefully he will learn for again! aside from all that - did J have a good time?
pesha - really hope teh house situation works out.
oogggs - are dts back in nursery tomorrow - hope it goes ok!
eca - glad the funeral went ok - as ok as these things can be. xx
mammyj - what a bummer with the pressie and coke incident. hope the rest of yr ay went off uneventfully!
nice to hear from you 2hotcrossbunnies!anyone heard from smole?
anyone heard from KHIN?

anyone else not crawling?? does everyone have shoes for them?
C seems to have no interest in crawling. all she wants to do it stand all day but not that great at actually pulling up.

NL - work situation is dire. looks like i am being forced to resign. feel sickened by it and in turmoil. it has been going on for 6 months and i am so low about it. we shall see what this week brings but it has to be sorted one way or the other before i am due back next week.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 06/04/2008 22:49

that's awful about work WO, I always thought that it came across in your posts when we were in early pregnancy that you loved your job

no idea whether J enjoyed it or not, he doesn't say any words at all yet

OP posts:
weeonion · 06/04/2008 22:54

potc - i did indeed love my job. would still want to go back but it actually isnt possible with workign arrangements.

NorthernLurker · 06/04/2008 22:56

WO - so sorry to read that - I saw your thread about it earlier in the week - was hoping for some miraculous good news I think . It is utterly crap isn't it!
Don't want to pry - but if you resign will you have to (because of finances) find a job asap or would you be able to look around a bit and find something worthy of you?

weeonion · 06/04/2008 22:58

NL - will have to asap. dp doesnt earn alot - i take are of all bills etc so pressure on to be bringing cash in - especially aftr mat leave. hate that i have worked so hard to get to a level and then - bang - back down again.
sorry - feel really low about it. PND as bad as ever was.

elkiedee · 06/04/2008 23:05

Sorry to hear about your work problems wo. Will go and look for your thread to find out what's happened now as I didn't realise there'd been further developments.

Goodnight all.

NorthernLurker · 06/04/2008 23:08

Don't apologise - like I say - it's crap. I have come to terms - just about - with the knowledge that had I not been on maternity leave - I would in all liklihood have secured a promotion. Instead I get to see someone I've trained leapfrog me. Like you and mammyjo - I'm job hunting.

It's a cliche - but don't let the bastards get you down.

NorthernLurker · 06/04/2008 23:14

WO - have you looked at the NHS careers website? It's usually good for an interesting job or two.

weeonion · 06/04/2008 23:30

yep NL - nothing suitable at the mo'.

anyhow - off to get stuff ready for a day out at park / musuem 2morro. lets hope it either snows so very nice to look at from coffee shop windows or blazes with sun for long walks!

night folks x

leakyR · 07/04/2008 07:40

Good morning.

Happy birthday to those who've been celebrating over the weekend. Will have be quick as G is in destructo mood this morning.

Spent the weekend in the North East.My grandad was diagnosed with throat cancer on Friday so we visited him Sat am. He's always pleased to see George. He has to have an MMR to see if cancer has spread then they'll decide about treatment. The fact that he's lost 2 stone in 12 months makes me feel an awful kind of dread that it probably has spread. Spent the rest of weekend in Morpeth with ILs (my parents are at each others throats- so we decided not to stress me out any more by staying there too long).

SIL was there with Eva who is now 6 months old and lovely. She's doing well, although SIL is stressed because her MIL commented that she doesn't hold her head up very well. Tried to reassure her that all babies are different and if the hv and paedatrician are happy then she shouldn't worry, but when she had such a traumatic start to life then it must be hard not to.

Getting implanon out this morning and then to Manchester this afternnon to see friends. It's 12 months today since our friend Lauren died and it will be nice to be with people who loved her today.

Got to run . G whinging. Apologies for gloomy post. I'm actually not too glum today believe it or not

Octothechildherder · 07/04/2008 08:20

morning

busy day today - then off to Brighton tomorrow

LeakyR - hope you have a nice day with your friends - a good chance to remember Lauren.

Hope the 'get together'to remember your your friend goes well LeakyR.
sORRY ABOUT THE JOB WO...They seem very shortsighted when they have you who knows what they are doing and has built it up.If they have to find someone else it could take ages for them to settle and they might not stay.Crazy.
Sorry also about your PND.
hOPE THE PHOTO SHOOT GOES WELL potc.
Cold here.Bit of snow, then it went.
Have a good day all

mammyjo · 07/04/2008 11:09

Hi all

Leaky, hope you have a good day and remember lots of happy memories
Why are you getting the Implanon out (if you don't mind me asking)? I just wondered as I am thinking about what to use after stopping Cerazette recently.

WO, I can't believe that they have made things so difficult that you are going to resign I haven't been around much lately so I guess I have missed all your work stuff. Last thing I remember was you being pleased that they had agreed to your flexible working arrangements. The NHS really knows how to shit on it's good staff IMO. For some reason it's the crap ones that get everything they ever need (from what I see day to day anyway). Really hope that either things can be worked out, or alternatively, you find something else where you will truly be appreciated for your skills. Lots of love to you xxx
