Oooggs - just tell the twins you've put some money in their CTF for them

liath · 31/03/2008 22:30

Hope work goes well tomorrow SPB.

Luce, I'm not sure if we'll get J anything - he won't know any better. DH is on nights so won't really be celebrating it much. Dd has suggested that I make a green birthday cake for him .

PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2008 22:33

Night then! Nice to meet you all...

I'm 8 years older than my brother and 11 years older than my sister (on my mum's side), though in my case it was because my dad left my mum for someone else when I was born so she did have a new dh first. I also have a brother and sister much closer to me in age but not brought up in the same home, though we saw lots of each other in our childhood.

I used to take my little brother out for walks and to the cinema on Saturday mornings.

I can see lots of advantages in big age gaps but you need to start younger than I did to do it!

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 22:35

this is the type of thing

elkiedee · 31/03/2008 22:35

Good night all! Hope work goes ok tomorrow SPB.

NL my mum got dd a wheelybug for her first birthday and she still absolutely loves it - she was whizzing around on it today, kept disappearing into the utility room saying she was off on holiday to Fife.....!!!

Luce, I think I might just go for green icing ! I used a great recipe for dd's cake with ricotta in it - it stayed really nice and moist for days.

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 22:40

Well - we were ruthless and ditched all that sort of space stealing stuff so poor B does need something of her own

What about a Noahs Ark - or do you already have one of those?

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 22:41

holiday to fife!!! Rofl! (My in-laws are both from Fife originally)

Only the best holiday destinations in the Liath household . Mind you, you can't beat Anstruther fish & chips.

Night all!

weeonion · 31/03/2008 22:44

evening folks. quick post to find you all later!

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 22:46

Luce - cupcakes are ace. I did some for B's dedication. Luckily the letters in her name were equal to the number of guests so each cake had a letter on it and the whole spelt her name

Pesha · 31/03/2008 22:46

Haven't read thread yet, just posting so its easier to find you all! N got diarrhoea so off school tomorrow I think - oh joy No doubt he'll turn out to be fine and just be manic and annoying all day when I'm trying to MN do things!

Night all x

geordieminx · 31/03/2008 22:51

i'm organising c's birthday just now as i am a controlfreak no, a few reasons, firstly we are off on our holidays in 2 weeks so needs doing before then, also 2 lots of family that live 150 miles away in opposite directions that will need to book hotels and such like. It was going to be a low key birthday tea but is rapidly escalating, as these things do! Still having tea party, on his actual birthday, with a few wee friends/family, probably kind of combined with an engagement celebration. Hopefully the weather will be nice so people can spill out into the garden.

Just popping in to wish you all a good night. "See" you tomorrow, lovely ladies ......

elkiedee · 31/03/2008 23:39

Don't know about presents - perhaps not a huge amount as I tend to get him little things every now and then and he won't really know at this age - the nearly new sales are great for toys.

I do love these things but we're short on space and I'm still thinking about it...

j - oh ok, so like, a fruit shoot then?
me - [anger]

elkiedee · 01/04/2008 00:09

PillockOfTheCommunity · 01/04/2008 00:27

leakyR · 01/04/2008 07:08

Hello

Bizarrely I feel nervous about posting again after such a long absence. We finally got our laptop back from John Lewis/Toshiba Only 2 months without it! Ridiculous.

After checking my email I want to first of all send big hugs to Eca, Runny and W I'm glad W seems to be on the mend.

We're still in Yorkshire! Having hoped to be moved by now - it still hasn't happened. Hopefully before the end of April (fingers crossed emoticom) G's birthday party has turned into an all-dayer which will also be a goodbye party.

George is lovely and makes us laugh every day. He is liking nursery and wearing the obligatory string of snot like all his little friends.

Not sure how much I'll be on here as DH is commuting to Manchester each day, I'm back to work and in a permanent state of zombiedom. G is not much better at sleeping unfortunately.

I've missed you all, but it does feel a bit odd being back
