Hey Liath - Congrats to M about his job!!

C's trust fund is woth £221 [grrrrrrr]

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 21:59

I must get on and do ours actually - we're definately going to go for the shares option - not often you get a chance to gamble with government money! Thing is - the bigger two girls don't have a CTF - they are too OLD and we've always squirreled a little bit away in savings accounts. We'll do the same for poor B when I get round to opening it!

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 22:00

PM - lovely name! Lovely little girl I like girls - I have three. Dd1 and dd3 are my April babies - just the 9 years apart though!

elkiedee · 31/03/2008 22:01

Welcome puppymonkey

That's right NL! Although the best thing we both could have done in the last year was to open a cash CTF savings account - and I've added a little extra too . Still, at least we didn't put loads more in (you can top up by £1200 but we didn't really have that to spare).

oooggs · 31/03/2008 22:01

yes I think they expire in May must get round to doing it - they are still worth £250!!!!

My mum and u both put a bit away every month for C - we were going to put it in the the CTF, until I realised that he would get sole access to it when he is 18.... Now I was quite responsible at 18 but if I had been handed a cheque for £15k I would have blown it on holidays and shoes and drink and unsuitable clothes...

No chance that C is going to get the chance!

Eddas · 31/03/2008 22:04

if the parent doesn't open one the government do it for you. I'd do it quick if I were you, don't want them choosing

Right am off to bed ladies, night x

ps, hope all goes well tomorrow spb

oooggs · 31/03/2008 22:04

oooggs!!!

elkiedee · 31/03/2008 22:06

GMM, you're putting me to shame - as C and D have same birthday. Are you celebrating it on the day?

We're going to invite people to join us for a picnic in the park in the afternoon, and then any adults/older kids can come and eat/drink/chat here in the evening if they like. But it's all going to be very informal.

elkiedee · 31/03/2008 22:09

Another nosy person here, yes, the pic of E is gorgeous. How old is your 1st dc?

NorthernLurker · 31/03/2008 22:12

I want to have a party for B with her baby friends I could do it on the day - or I could wait and hope we get moved and do it in the new house - but after her birthday - and that would have to be a weekend .................hmmmm.......will think on!

Sexonlegs · 31/03/2008 22:14

Just dropping in before bed.

K's CTF has gone down too. I am a bit naffed off with it really.
