Why POTC? What have you done?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/03/2008 12:53

I'm supposed to be Tsarina, but I'm a bit crap at it and forget to look at the local pages

Oh dear

Thanks for the update about runny and W. So glad he's on the mend.

Pesha - Glad you're feeling positive about things!

Sorry to those I've missed!

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2008 13:07

Been trying to get on since last night - rubbish Internet! Have been praying for runny, her family and for dear little W - good news about the text - glad he is doing ok, hope the drain is out soon.

I have been 100 mph today - complete madness ...... I just feel like I have hit the ground running and I haven't stopped. My mind is racing and I am soooo tried and stressed out. Everything's out of my control. I am ok enough, just want the world to stop so I can get off sort of feeling .....

oooggs · 26/03/2008 13:18

glad W is improving runny

please can someone explain to E that nursery isn't a concentration camp

Bramshott · 26/03/2008 14:07

Thanks for keeping us updated on Runny and W Ellie. Thinking of them.

Oooggs - oh dear, was she upset today as well. Do you know whether she was upset even after you had left? She'll get used it and soon love it, and you know she's being well looked after because you've known the nursery for so long. Chin up!

runnyhabbit · 26/03/2008 14:09

Hello all

Just popped home with J, while dh is with W.

thank you for all your well wishes, it really does mean so much, to all of us.

W is on the mend, and actually tried to smile when he saw J today, so our little baby is slowly on his way to normality. Feel as if I could burst into tears at any time, though.

Will keep you posted
x

Bramshott · 26/03/2008 14:16

Great to see you RH. Glad that he is on the mend.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

AngeG · 26/03/2008 14:25

Oh Oooggs - Sorry E's unhappy at nursery. I'm sure she'll be having a whale of a time before long!

Hi Runny - Good to see you. So Glad W is on the mend!

Hi Bramshott.

Hello Dippy - Sorry life is so hectic for you atm. Thinking of you xx

StealthPolarBear · 26/03/2008 15:17

runny hope w continues to improve
oooggs does she stay like that, or improve through the day?

Pinions · 26/03/2008 15:56

Glad to hear the news that W is now on the mend,

Pinions x

Sexonlegs · 26/03/2008 17:24

Hi folks.

Runny, so glad W is on the mend. I hope he continues to get better. What a shock for you all. Thinking of you and sending you lots of love and hugs.

Hi Pinions!

Hi to everyone else too.

Busy here. Went to the last Baby Sensory this morning which was good, but sad it is over. Dh's friend arrived at lunch, and tbh it is really good to see him again.

K not 100%. She has only been on the ab's for 24 hours, but I am impatient! It has effected her tummy - lovely! Her temp goes back up as soon as the calpol wears off.
So, she is a bit whingy, and also seems quite spaced out at times. Supposed to be in work tomorrow, but not sure I can go in and leave at her nursery. I am so busy as well atm.

Sorry for rant.

StealthPolarBear · 26/03/2008 17:27

no problem sol, it all seems really stressful
hope she is better tomorrow

cazboldy · 26/03/2008 18:49

Runny - so glad to hear that W is on the mend. I know what it's like to have a scare like that It must have been very hard! xxx

Oooggs - James(11) and Harry (6) share a room atm, they have bunks, and there is another bed in there (it is a HUGE room!) which my nephew often sleeps in, and which Charlie will eventually move in to.

Charlie is in with Caitlin, to get him used to being away from me.

Molly is in her cot (most of the time at the foot of our bed, but will eventually go in with Caitlin.

think that explains our sleeping arrangements. Not sure how Caitlin will feel sharing with Molly when she is 14 and Molly is 7, and would love James to be able to have a room of his own, so when I get a job we will look for a 5 bedroom house!!!!

WCL - sorry I missed Leo's BD, but belated wishes xxx

NorthernLurker · 26/03/2008 19:25

Hi all - bit of time to catch up after a very busy day. Holiday club going well. Over 130 children there today (gulp). I have B in the front carrier for as much of it as I can - 3 hours today - good job she's not too heavy. Weather permitting all us 'church' families go out after the club on the second day (today that would be) to a local beauty spot for a walk and ice cream - but the weather is lousy here atm so we had to abandon the idea Dh, girls and I went out to a local National Trust place with a lovely tearoom though - just so we didn't feel cheated Right - first and foremost Runny - good to read of improvement in poor little W. Praying that continues and for strength for you all.
Maveta - good luck with the onset of full time work next week
SPB - re bedtime and nighttime waking - just wanted to say - don't ever think you are a crap mother because you are setting boundaries for T and helping him find his own way and self settle. Those are the things that good parents do!
Doobydoo - breath holding is very scary isn't it? I had a friend whose son used to do it - they do grow out of it though.
WCL - Happy Birthday Leo for yesterday
Oooggs - my big two share and have done since dd2 was 6 months old and dd1 was 3+. They love it. They have bunk beds and their own bedside lights which are quite dim so one can go off to sleep before the other. Very handy when one is sick too - the other comes to tell you Re nursery - Erin will click with it - she's just taking her time. Hang in there!
Eddas - I'm sure you already are a yummy mummy ds's waving sounds so cute!
SOL - As you know B had anti-b's recently for her ears. Sorry but they did have a BAD effect on her nappies - and it was a week before she was totally back to her happy self.
GM - gorgoeus pics!
Ange at the biting - gues she's trying out her lovely teeth then?
Elkie - what on earth are you doing to those poor mice?
Pesha - sounds like you have a good plan for the future. I hope you can work things out if it's at all possible and what you decide you want (and if J decides to reform his twattish side!). Re babies and keyboards - B goes straight for caps lock - v annoying!
POTC - hope you feel better tomorrow.
Dippy - aren't you going away soonish - will that give you a chance to unwind?

Hi Bramshott, IDOC and everyone else

Better go put B to bed now.

NorthernLurker · 26/03/2008 19:26

Sorry - I went through and put spaces in - where have they gone???????????????///

oooggs · 26/03/2008 19:51

thanks NL - I love your informative posts

katy - E was only at nursery 1he 15 min She was crying when I left and crying when I returned but I do have photographic evidence that she did stop sometimes

Jack seems fine unless he gets too disturbed by her crying then he thinks 'ohhh I must get upset too' and he does and cries but for a short while.

thank you NL & caz for your sleeping arrangements - we are extending for more bedrooms atm Jack spends too much time in our room in the travel cot or our bed instead of his own

NorthernLurker · 26/03/2008 19:53

Hi Oooggs - I have to take notes you know! Good to hear that Erin did settle a bit - it will get better!

Please say the same to me when B's settling in sessions start!

Eddas · 26/03/2008 19:59

glad w is getting better rh, hope it contiues and he's home soon

SOL, be patient it's only been a day

NL, that sounds like far too many children to be around

I went to ww today was a few lbs heavy than at home but then that's normal I guess So I have at least a stone to lose but really 1 1/2-2 eek

My poor little man(ds that is) he has not only got gooey eyes but he's now got a fat lip. Went to pick him up from SIL's and she said he'd literally just done it. Fell over whilst trying to walk/satnd and his only 2 teeth went straight though his top lip ffs he only has 2 teeth

Would it be bad of me to take a picture of it

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/03/2008 20:01

Hi ladies
this is me logging on and off for the evening

have added sofa boy to my car insurance, was only £60 for the year. He has no car at the moment which means me driving over to him if I want to see him, bringing him to mine and taking him back again. When he's on nights this is a pain in the backside, and I don't see him at all when he's on days.
him driving my car means that (like tonight) he can go to work from 7 til 7, come back here and sleep while I go to work, then we can spend the afternoon together, where before we only managed a few hours and it was stressful.

It also means that I don't have to worry if we go out for the day and I'm feeling tired, as he can drive, and I can go out and drink at long last, as someone else can drive home!

And, he can now collect the boys for me if I want to do longer hours, he can drop me off and then he's got the car to collect them, fab!

As we are friends anyway I had been considering it, and nothing much has changed since the kiss really, but this does make my life easier. Heck, anything that makes my life easier is well worth it!!!

does mean he will be here during the day tomorrow though so I need to tidy
and I'm going for a bath now, in peace, as if I sit here any longer I'll still be here when I'm too tired to do it

Just caught up on today's posts, hi all.

Runny, glad to hear W continues to improve.

oooggs, sorry to hear settling E in to nursery continues to be so tough.

Pesha · 26/03/2008 20:12

Oooggs - somehow missed your post yesterday asking about sleeping arrangements. Have gone back and see you didnt ask me but I'll answer anyway! DD has her own, small room and ds1 and 2 share. The older 2 easily sleep through D's crying and he is getting more and more used to their noise which is good. We have bunk beds in there so atm D is in cot but when he's a bit older he can go in bottom bunk. N having noghtmares every night tho atm so goes to sleep in my bed, I put him in his when I go up but he often comes back in again. He likes to sleep with dd in her bed but I only let him do that on weekends cos they chat and fidget and keep each other awake!

Have had parent's evening this week. Maia is exceeding expectations in reading and writing and bang on target in numeracy. Getting much better at listening and not chatting apparently which is good. The only negative comments she has ever had since starting school have been about her tendency to chat with her bfs and not pay attention at times so reaslly good that shes getting much better now, cant think where she gets that from

N's parents evening was fab!! His teacher is lovely and really seems to get him, she sees all the things I see about him and understands the need to approach him in a certain way and how to get the best and avoid the worst in him. She said she loves him to bits and he is a little ray of sunshine in her class!!! He is coming on really well wioth his concentration although still working on it and is doing brilliantly with his phonemes and blending (thats letters and sounding out btw!!) and doing simple adding and taking away sums and she said he is probably strongest at numeracy. Compared to where he was this time last year I am just amazed by what he is doing, I never would have thought he could do so well. The only dilemma we have now is whether he goes into a mixed yr1 and reception class next year where there is more play or a normal yr1 class.

oh phone rang brb!!

cazboldy · 26/03/2008 21:09

StealthPolarBear · 26/03/2008 21:20
